is it me or are too many acts tryin too hard right now? beyonces desperate "try-to-make-it-a-hit"-songs, justins "I'm so hot and serious and pot smokin", christina aguilera sounding so perfect and feeling-less it freaks me out

I agree fully with Becksss, they're just trying too hard and forcing their images into the making of a complete stereotype that just won't fit them.
Beyoncé is pretty damn close to make a Glitter album. Justin may be reaching the downfall of Michael Jackson without his success and fame... As for Xtina, she made a good album, with a flawless production and a great set of lyrics, but she's no longer sounding appealing. I can only think of the intimidating expertise and coldness that Mariah gave in the "Emotions" CD. Masterful pieces with no human warm... I fear for them. Dangerously In Love, Justified & Stripped were albums way too good...
Cheers!
Try 2 sing 1 song with 1 voice...
Atte. Dan!

maybe it is too hard for them to relaese a follow-up to a modern classic (at least stripped desverves this title).

its the same with pink who had so many hits and sold so many copies with/of missundaztood - she never reached this level again.

I guess somebody didn't like "Confessions on a dancefloor"!

I think it's gonna be the low key releases such as Kelis and JoJo that will be the decent records.

Alot of these big releases are letting us down...

I like Aguilera, but she needs to come consistant. I know she makes an effort to avoid big name producers, but she really does need that producer who's gonna give her a solid beat with a killer hook. Her songs on "Back to basics" are nice, but none of 'em are the kinda tracks that'll set charts alight and go down in clubs. It also sounds VERY similar to "Stripped".

"Understand" a bit like "Impossible" / "Without you" a bit like "Loving me 4 me" / "Oh Mother" reminds me of "I'm OK"

Justin's record - I can see it being like a male equivalent of Nelly Furtado's "Loose". I'm already mad that "SexyBack" sounded like an off-cut from "Loose". Though out of Aguilera, Beyonce and his, I can see his record being the best.

I can see Beyonce's record under delivering as well. "Deja vu" is nice, but is just a tamer version of "Crazy in love". "Ring the alarm" is just...not so great.
