TAMIA: GIVES BIRTH TO BABY GIRL ....

Tamia, one of my favourite R&B vocalists, gave birth to a baby girl yesterday. Tamia and her basketball hubby Grant Hill welcomed their new daughter Lael Rose Hill who arrived in Orlando, Fla., weighing 8 lbs. 6 oz.

"Mother and daughter are doing fine", a rep tells PEOPLE. It's the second child – daughter Myla Grace is five – for Tamia, 32, and the NBA star who says, "Lael looks like Myla."

While she was expecting, Tamia discussed how her multiple sclerosis (which she was diagnosed with one year after giving birth to her 5-year-old daughter Myla Grace.) affected her pregnancy. The singer said, "I wasn't really nervous because with MS, when a woman is pregnant, all her symptoms of MS subside. So it's good to be pregnant. But you have to be careful because after you give birth, there's a higher rate of attacks. So, no, I wasn't worried since I knew being pregnant was totally safe."

On top of not suffering from MS while being pregnant, the songstress says she has had two relatively easy pregnancies. "I've been so blessed through both [pregnancies]. I actually never had one day of morning sickness...I don't even know what that's about." And when asked whether she and Grant would try again for a third baby, maybe even a boy, Tamia was adamant about taking it one baby at a time. "Wow. I don't know. I wouldn't rule it out."

The couple wed in 1999 after being introduced by singer Anita Baker while Grant led the Detroit Pistons to the NBA playoffs. He now plays for the Orlando Magic. Tamia released her fourth studio album Between Friends in November 2006 featuring her hit single Can't Get Enough, a love song about her husband. Despite her 2003 diagnosis of multiple sclerosis, Tamia says she feels "fine."

Following the birth yesterday which took place at 2:45pm, she says: "The baby is healthy, everything is great,".

Awww, I am sooo happy for them. Congrats Tamia!
