WHITNEY HOUSTON: FIRST COMEBACK PERFORMANCE ....

On 28th July, Whitney Houston and her previous collaborator CeCe Winans sang their 1996 hit single "Count On Me" (Waiting to Exhale OST) at the Always Sisters conference. The footage has just emerged on You Tube:

If Whitney isn't spotted cavorting with her estranged ex-hubby Bobby Brown, she is doing karaoke-like performances. Yes. Karaoke-like. And at times, out of tune. I've always been hyped about a Whitney comeback since Jesus came out of nappies. Maybe I could be waiting just a leeetle bit longer. The vocal was just terrible. Or I could blame it on the poor sound technicality in which the mobile used to record the performance could somewhat be to blame. Or maybe she is getting old and just don't have what it takes anymore (she turned 44 on 9th August). But this is Whitney's first-ever comeback performance right? And she doesn't even nail it. Now that she's having dinners with her cheating crackheaded ex, let's hope Whit doesn't fall back into the dreaded crack slumber party one mo' time. The divorce (which was finalised in April) was most definitely the best decision she's done in ages.

Let's not spoil things as Bobby Brown WAS definitely the main factor as to why she was near to self-destruction last year and why she had to resort to throw a jumble sale in a desperate bid to flog off old clothes, shoes and outfits. Financial ruin is never good when you have to resort to that, or giving away the most personalised posessions that ignited the highlights of your career (some of these costumes were worn during some of Whitney's shiver-down-your-spine performances back in the day when she was untouchable - now her nemesis Mariah has her beat, and not only that J Records, Whitney's current label has a few potential young and budding power houses half of Whit's age about to make their mark real soon - think Alicia Keys, Leona Lewis and Jennifer Hudson). I am just not certain in this day and age if Whit is still with it or if she still has what it takes to make the world her oyster again.
