Not only has current American Idol winner Jordin Sparks broke records for being the youngest ever contestant to win the show, but she is also the very first winner to sign her record deal with Jive Records (home to Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Backstreet Boys, Usher, R.Kelly, Chris Brown, T-Pain, etc). Her first single Tattoo (interesting title) is produced by Stargate and will go for adds on 27th August and her as-yet-titled album is set for a November release:
In a statement from her new boss, Barry Weiss, he says, "Her poise, her amazing vocal ability, her relentless optimism has been apparent to millions of fans all around the world. We're honored to have this burgeoning worldwide superstar on Jive Records". So I take it J Records is no longer the signature label to sign to any more. Why's that I wonder. That's hoping she can stick like a tattoo with whatever she's about to come out with. There's been so much hype surrounding her so it's really important that she delivers.
