She was signed to Virgin Records America not too long ago. Her father ran a karaoke lounge, and this exhibited a practise for Che'Nelle to start up her interest in singing even as a small toddler. Che'Nelle has also had some backhanded experience as a performer as she has played in bands and written her own music for years. When American music veteran Charles Dixon heard her music on her Myspace, he took it upon himself to distribute her music to Virgin Records and flew Che'nelle business class to Los Angeles at the end of last year to meet with the label. Within two days she had signed the deal and was being marketed as a world artist. Before Che'Nelle sustained her record deal, she worked as a promotions assistant before moving to New York in January after signing a six-album deal with Virgin Records America. Che'Nelle also shares the same management team as Kanye West, performing as the opening act on his Australian tour in March 2006. Che'Nelle's song "Teach Me How To Dance" was also featured on the soundtrack to the movie "Take The Lead" and she's here to show us exactly what she has. Though, I am not a fan of dancehall music, it's been a massive popularity this summer especially with Sean Kingston, Kat Deluna, Elephant Man and even Sean Paul making contributions to the dance-hall craze. This track is exactly that. I'm In Love With A DJ is poised with a groovy rhythm that will generate hip stimulation. It's also a fun track as well, and just when Rihanna ditched her dancehall/reggae roots for pop, it seems this is the direction that is paving the way here on out.
