PINK USES RACIAL SLUR TOWARDS KIM

More VMA's mayhem. According to CNN, Pink called Lil Kim a "black-faced dog" after Lil Kim branded Pink a hypocrite for her Stupid Girls video. The two once collaborated on the massive smash Lady Marmalade and it's not known whether each of them will press charges. The dispute was mentioned on The Early Show by Renee Zyler, and on Good Morning America by Diane Sawyer on September 1, 2006. Yes, I do think Pink is a hypocrite but she was totally way out of line for that "black-faced dog" comment. Someone needs to pull up her ass about that. Call her a plastic-faced dog or something, that would've been funny but because she brought race into it, she was way out of order. See, piss certain white folks off and their true feelings come right the hell out.

Is it me or is Solange Knowles turning into a bussoming beauty? She is starting to give big sister Beyonce a run for the money in the looks department. Also, I always knew Bobby Valentino was short but not that damn short.
~

I completely forgot that Rihanna and Cassie turned up at the glitzy event this week, so here are the pictures in case you didn't see them. Both girls looked beautiful and Ryan Leslie was looking like he was in heavenly bliss ... as usual. Well, it's been kind of slow on the music front now that all the VMA excitement has died down. Well, I'm signing off for today so I'll be seeing ya'll tomorrow for another jam-packed music week.

what's interesting about your post toya is that you are a typical black person. whenever "race" is brought into you become defensive. just like everyone else. grow up. it's the 21st century.

Anonymous said...

p.s. i love black people. so why does everything have to be about race. it's not about that. let's be about who we are as people. not skin color. that doen'st even matter. skin color means nothing. that's at least my opinion. i owuld never judge someone based upon skin color.

I’m certainly not Toya, but I would love to address what you wrote.

"grow up. it's the 21st century."

"so why does everything have to be about race. it's not about that."

First of all, it is NEVER a minority who ever makes the kind of statement that you did above. I have seen so many posts that share the same opinion it’s almost frightening.

Get this... racism is still very much alive. Until there is no more racism left in this world, who are you to tell others that it isn’t a big deal and, "Why does it always have to be about race?" Are you a minority (i.e., a part of a race that is looked down upon in the world)? If not, how can you speak so boldly about the subject?

I definitely am not one of those people, who go around using race as an excuse, but the truth is, others make my race more evident to the world than I do. They clutch their purses a bit tighter when I walk past, follow me around stores, refuse to help me when making a purchase, lock their car doors when I approach - yes, racism is alive. And when someone calls a black woman a "black faced dog," I have absolutely NO IDEA how race cannot become an issue - it was a racist comment. So you really need to think about what you wrote and your stance upon this. Sounds to me like someone is one of those closet types who always complain about how sick they are of "those people" (black people) making everything an issue of race.

Well honey if what P!NK said wasn’t about race... I don’t know what is. How do you expect people to react to something so ignorant and clear as such?

What's the deal with the typical black person comment. That shit was racist. It was very disrespectful to black people. That bitch started her career by jumping on our (black people) backs. Just like Justin. The true cracker, I'm not even going to say racists, comes out every time. All you have to do is make them mad. I bet she will explain this like "No Im not racist I have 2 black friends". And for those who say i love black people and skin color means nothing you're full of it. Black people are forced to live in different worlds based off past and future experiences. Case in point just watch the new :(

Yes Solange does look better and that is because she went black. I wish alot of people will go back black because that blonde crap is getting tired. Just like Ciara she looks beautiful with black. And the Pink incident, she is going to be the reason why she is the downfall of her career. Plenty people in the industry already said that she is realy hard to work with and it's like working on eggshells with her. But I don't think she is a hypocrite because she is not like those girls she talk about at all. And Lil Kim do need to shut up because she is done also. I never thought Iwould say that in a million years but it's true.

Anonymous said...

I don't think P!NK's a hypocrite for her 'Stupid Girls' song so that was unintelligent of Kim to say.

That said, I love them both, and it was silly for P!NK to lash right back, but I don't think she's racist. I think she was commenting on Kim's FACE, not race. She's not talking about "black people", she's talking about a surgery-clad woman whose face HAS been touched up. I really don't think she was talking about all black people.

And it IS silly for you guys to jump in saying "racism is still alive" because even if it is, it's a whole different ballgame now. AND it only exists BECAUSE of people ALWAYS bringing it up.

We can't move forward if we don't put the past behind us.

Anonymous said...

I've said this once, and I will say it again. Pink is NOT a hypocrite. The Lady Marmalade video almost didn't happen because Pink and Mya were not comfortable with the costumes and such.

There is NO proof that Pink made that comment about Lil Kim, and even if she did, her comment was against Kim herself, not any other black person. And "black-faced" does not seem racist at all. Kim is a black woman, so it is literally a true statement. If anything, people should be more upset by the "dog" part of the comment.

Finally, to the people who are saying Pink only got famous by appealing to the black audiences, that was NOT her choice. She had no say in the style of music or the marketing of her first album

Anonymous said...

I don't know about this one Black dog face. I think that was a little too straight forward. It was a attack on her color, I mean she is black. She could not have been talking about the plastic surgeries or she would have just said dog face. I think her mouth was probably running faster than her brain was. I mean it happens. I have personally dated outside my race and love white men but sometimes when white people come to victoria secret where I work and bitch fit, in my mind I am going off and saying sometimes race like comments about them. And that only happens when I am super pissed. But I never said it out publicly to where it would offend someone and their race. Even though Kim should have not said anything, Pink statement was a little worse.

Anonymous said...

Ya'll actin like it's true. I doubt Pink said that. They most likely didn't even have an altercation.

Anonymous said...

True. Most of these "quotes" are fake and y'all should know that by now. Toya posts rumors ALL THE TIME, just so we know what they are. But she also says they are rumors so people don't get caught up. Of course they still do, and of course, this time she did not make that distinction. But use your brains, people.

Anonymous said...

Pink's comment was overrated but what people have to realize is that race and discrimination issues are still alive. They have not been forgotten or went away. What is the typical black person? What was that all about. Thats exactly what Im taking about, in this world USA especially race is a big factor to alot of issues. Why is it that it took the government 1 week to get down to Hurricane Katrina to help our own people. Now I wonder if it was in a suburban town mostly middle class caucasions then how long would it take. Even when the Tsunami happened it took the USA 24 hours to send help to people who are not even apart of our country. Yes its the 20th century and who cares racism is still alive! for that one comment about people using racism as an excuse, open up your eyes and realize that all minorities have to work twice as hard as anyone else just to get where they need to go, and they don't complain, they might remind people of the issues that bother then but definately not complaining.

Its the same reason why Halle Berry had to degrade herself on screen and Denzel Washington has to play a currupt police officer just to recieve an academy/oscar award. While others do a substancial role and they have awards out the ass. Think about it. Instead of being so ignorant and criticizing Toya for what she wants to say. WHAT ALOT OF PEOPLE HAVE TO REALIZE IS THAT THIS IS TOYAS SITE HER BLOG AND SHE IS OBLIGATED TO SAY WHATEVER THE HELL SHE WANTS. IF SHE WANTS TO TALK ABOUT RACISM OR ARTISTS SHE CAN DO SO. THIS IS HER SITE AND SHE DID NOT ASK YOU TO TYPE THIS IN YOUR URL BOX. IF YOU DONT LIKE WHAT YOU SEE SIMPLY CLICK THE SMALL RED X IN THE UPPER RIGHT HAND CORNER. DONT DISS HER AND HER CRAFT.

Thank You - Miss April Joy...

This is Toya's blog, so she can say WTF she wants, POINT BLANK.

And for u other people, YES, racism and all type of ISMS are still alive. I am a BLACK, MALE, HOMOSEXUAL. I am not out, which makes matters for me even harder. But ANYWAY, Racism is not going to go away just because we stop thinking about it or bringing it up, as the IDIOT stated above. And its not just whites towards blacks, but vice-versa, and BLACKS ON BLACKS! So, no one is having a civil rights movement here, but DON'T act like it doesn't exist, ESPECIALLY when u don't have to see it firsthand.

Now, racist or not, P!ink's statement was stupid and out of line. Lil Kim was immature for calling her out like that as well. (if this stuff even happened) And truthfully, "stupid girls" was funny, but ignorant as well because Pink needn't hate on ppl just because they're diff than her. What would the world be like if everyone were like her? A MESS.

GOOD DAY

This is what someone who is not a minority will NEVER understand... WE DON'T BRING RACISM UP. How much simpler can I put it? Saying, "...it only exists BECAUSE of people ALWAYS bringing it up," is absolutely ridiculous.

Is it my fault that I am sometimes treated differently EVERY SINGLE DAY OF MY LIFE because of my race? How am I contributing to racism's existence in that instance? Think about what your beliefs are and what you are writing. If a black person NEVER brought race into the picture, RACISM WOULD STILL EXIST! Why? Because someone who does not like blacks would make it an issue. It's just the way things are. People who write things such as the above need to get out into the world more. Or if you're always on the computer, just go to one search engine's message board in particular. We're not talking KKK websites but a site everyone, of every age, of every race probably visits daily. It is FULL of teachers, police officers, professionals, mothers, fathers, grandparents... all making racist comments. Your view will change on racism if you do this.

I just can't believe that there are people this ignorant left in the world - you almost sound as bad as a Ku Klux Klan member.

And let me take a guess, you're not black.

Regardless of if this is only a rumor or not, my judgment and criticism has nothing to do with P!NK, but with the issue of people like yourself who choose to believe the way you do. I'm not here to chastise her because I do not yet know if it's even true, but what I'm reading from some of you is mind blowing - THAT is what I'm commenting on for now.

Some of you need to open your eyes.

Honey Pink is NOT rascist....Have U seen Hollywood Stories about her she grew up around nothing but black ppl and even when she got into the business they forced her to do r&b to appeal to everyone & she did but really loved rock....she's friends with a lot of black artist now...Toya I just think U wanna start sumthing, race has nothing to with nothing and even if she said the lil kim is "BLACK" WAT U WANT HER TO SAY "AFRICAN-AMERICAN" THAT SOUNDS SO "GAY" WHY DON'T WE CALL THE WHITE PPL "NATIVE AMERICAN" OR SUMTHING...& THAT SONG IS TRUE & I'M GLAD SHE MADE CAUSE IT'S SIM REAL STUPID BITCHES OUT THERE LIKE JESSICA SIMPSON & PARIS HILTON, THAT IS OBVIOUS!!!!!!!!! COME ON, BE REAL NOW.....TOYA......

You got that right! Piss some of the whites off and their true colors will come shining through. I always thought Pink could be a racist. I never cared too fully believe, but somewhere back in my mind I thought she was a racist. The comment she mad was uncalled for and down right racist. She should be the last one talking the way she has been looking, pissing outside and shit, which is so unlady like. May I add she has been looking like trailer trash.

Some of the people in here need too grew the hell up. This was a racist comment. Hell, if it was somebody black it would have been a bigger deal. What pink so was fucking stupid, and it wouldn't have been wrong if Kim called her white trash.
Don't try and make racism hush, hush, because the shit still lives on and this was an example. I'm not saying we should beat each other down, but don't try and act like racism has been completely thrown out the window. There are still a few of them out there, and Pink might be one. She lost all cool point's for me.

Anonymous said...

Now, we don't know if this story is true or not but... you think that just because a white person has black friends or grew up around blacks, that they still can't have a bit of racism in them? I see it all of the time.

How foolish you are to believe that.

"race has nothing to with nothing and even if she said the lil kim is 'BLACK' WAT U WANT HER TO SAY "AFRICAN-AMERICAN" THAT SOUNDS SO 'GAY' WHY DON'T WE CALL THE WHITE PPL "NATIVE AMERICAN" OR SUMTHING..."

First of all, whites would never be considered Native Americans - Indians would be, they were in America when whites arrived. How in the hell did you make that comparison?

Second, RACE SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN THROWN INTO IT. What about that do you people who claim that wasn't a racist comment not understand? You guys are idiots who are saying that. She could have said anything she wanted to, but why a "BLACK faced" dog? There are some truly ignorant people in this world.

Wow. To try and downplay that it wasn't a racist comment is just dumb. If in fact it was said, it definitely was.

Why R ya'll gettin on Pink if it was a black artist who made that comment about a white person...ya'll wouldn't give a f*ck...the point is rascim is everywhere....you can't avoid it...And Pink had no say so on her first album or the type of marketing towards it...And how can she be a rascist when she grew up listing to Whitney Houston & sung in church...Yea I mean she was a little rebelious but not rascist, but to tell you the truth were all rascist one way or another so ATTACKING Pink for that comment would make you a hypocrate & you don't see Pink tellin Lil' Kim, "You know your a whore & you don't give young women anything to look up to these days...You dress like a hooker, you rap about sex, sex, sex...& actually trusted the "close friends" around you..." No!!! Just as Kim has a right to do rap, sing about "the jump off" 4rm one dick to another Pink has a right to express her feelings as well...I love her song "dear mr. president"!!! How was she wrong for snappin back at Kim!!!! She should've said "Black Barbie" cause that's wat she is ....u wanna play the race card!!! Let call lil Kim a sellout 4rm bein uncomfortable in her own skin with fake hair "white" hair, "classic white peeky" boobs..Fake eyes, "white" nose cause her other nose was African..U know how it look but she took off sum skin to make it look pointy.....Took off her Africasn lips too!!!!! & U call Pink a F*cking RASCIT!!!!!!!!!! OPEN UR EYE'S EVERYONE IS RASCIST FOR THAT MATTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT ABOUT THAT!!! HUH!!!!!!!! "FAKE" KIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Some of you guys are just the biggest idiots my eyes have ever laid upon words.

"And how can she be a rascist when she grew up listing to Whitney Houston & sung in church..."

So listening to Whitney Houston and singing in church makes someone not a racist?

Fuck outta here with that bullshit. Some of you guys are so stupid.

Anonymous said...

And quit with that "EVERYONE'S RACIST" bullshit. That's a fucking white person's staple phrase these days.

There are racists in every nationality, but let's speak about the subject at hand. Had Kim brought race into it... that's fine... we would be talking about how wrong it was of Kim. Truth is, that's not the case though... so we're talking about what was said by P!NK. Why do you want us to change that subject? It's the subject at hand.

White people seem to always wish to push blatant racism to the back. Hmmm... I wonder why?

Anonymous said...

Thank You Anon..

Please stop changing the subject here. Yes, racism is still alive in the world. PLEEZ BELEEVIT!! But the issue is what p!ink said. Whether she is "racist" or not, what she said (if this is true) was a SLUR. It was inappropriate. And to tell you the truth, I hope she DID say it, because I see some people are very ignorant of how society truly is today. It's not like Black people walk around everyday saying "the MAN is holding me back", "I want my 40 acres and a mule".. But it's very hard to ignore racism when it actually HAPPENS TO US PPL!!

Nevertheless, as a people, we press on, and we will prosper. But unless you are black, don't comment on here saying racism is only alive because ppl keep bringing it up.. and if u have the audacity to say that, u are a disgrace to African - Americans and the fight we have fought and continue to fight.

What many ppl fail to realize is that racism is not just WHITE ON BLACK!! it's anybody. And as long as ppl are different, there will be racism; people are afraid of what they don't know or understand, therefore they hate.

^^^Exactly!!! Racism is everywhere and it happens to EVERYONE...Black, white, yellow, blue, gay, straight, cripple, Cassie (Lol..I had to say it...Ppl lately have been really hard on her & especially b/c she's MIXED..mainly other than the fact she can't perform live to save her LIFE!!!)...Ppl attack wat they don't understand...This world is really jacked up and I believe it'll only get WORST....But at least there are some good ppl out there in the cruel world...not EEVERYBODY is the same..that's the good part....But when ppl see something different to "their" standard they procrastinate it into warfare, look at KELIS...The world is rascist for saying she's rascist for "turning on her ppl" like, "Black ppl cannot do Rock & Roll," that's rascist...And she doesn't ONLY do rock...When will ppl see noboy's the SAME....We're ALL unique...And to say "God doesn't love you!" is insane!!! He loves Everyone, ALL is BEAUTIFUL.

It was supported on CNN. I would of thought that was as legit as it comes and it was also mentioned on two very established TV shows. The comment was racist and racist STILL exists. I soooo agree with Miss April Joy's comments. The Hurricane Katrina incident sealed the deal for me that racism still exist. Bush came up with some bullshit ass excuse that all military equipment was held up in Iraq but if the victims were mainly white or the disaster occurred in a white area, he'd have reacted MUCH sooner, not to mention that LOOT picture where a white couple and a black man took some food from a store as a means of survival. The black man was reported to have LOOTED the food, but the white couple were reported to have FOUND it. So racism is reflected in how something is reported through the way black people were being represented. I would NEVER call a white person a "white-faced dog" because I'm not racist and I have white friends and dated white guys in the past. The comment just threw me off. Still, it'll be very interesting to see how she'll backpeddle her way out of it. She could deny it or just apologise who knows.

Rox, she may have directed her comment towards ONE person but it's STILL an offensive term to all black people, myself included, because I look at that and think, she probably thinks of all black women as black-face dogs, kind of like the Eminem situation when he referred to ALL black women as bitches and golddiggers. He backpeddled by saying he was mad at some BLACK chick he dated some years ago for doing him wrong but the black chick probably doesn't even exist and he probably only said it to try and prove he wasn't a racist, when all comments prove he's an UNDERCOVER racist making money off black folks.

Anonymous said...

How does Lil Kim getting plastic surgery make her racist? So, changing your facial features up makes you a racist? Some people in here are so fucking off.

Anonymous said...

Pretty much everyone is. People hear the word "racism" and think they KNOW more about it than other people.

Everyone seems to have a complex about how someone said "ignore it" except no one REALLY said "ignore racism". What was REALLY said was that racism and other forms of discrimination cannot be overcome if we dwell on it. If everything a white celebrity says is scrutinized for racism, that is an unnecessary lack of respect for that person.

George Bush? PLEASE. If anyone feels he's a good person to represent the whole of white America, that person is retarded. Most people DON'T like Bush or agree with about ANYTHING he says. True, the government is a little fucked up, and that's how Bush got into office. It's sad, isn't it? No matter HOW much all of my white friends want things in this country to be easier on me and my people (I'm black and gay), the higher-ups in our country get to choose.

It's really unfair for black people to "come together" against people like P!NK because white people don't "come together" against racist rappers.

Yes, black people ARE treated unfairly more often than white people. But if all we ever do is sit and think about the racism that we see, and try to pull more racist meaning out of not-so-serious comments, we WON'T ever move past this. We have to show people that we are BETTER.

"In a class of white people and one black student, if the white people were to verbally attack the black student about his character and supposed shoddyness, the black man can either choose to rise above and demand attention through thought and strong perseverance, or the black man can succumb to those who fear him, and be feared."

I typed this differently than I was thinking it. I meant, it's really unfair for black people to attack P!NK's image because of one shady comment she made, when rappers (many of them, indeed) can say just about anything they want about just about anyone, and it's considered "raw, real" and what else?...it's a good song, supported by black people everywhere.

"...when the label forced her to to appeal to a "general audience"

Your CLEARLY know NOTHING about the music business. The music that she is making now (Pop/Rock) appeals (and always has) to a broader audience than urban music. The truth is that P!NK was singing R&B when she was trying to get signed (and I know this firsthand). So guess what? That is the music they chose for her to record. She was shopping R&B demos - why would a label sign her and then have her release a rock album? People need to get their facts straight before speaking on things.
