AliciaKeys.net finally put up the scans to the interview she did with Sister to Sister magazine. I previously reported that in the interview Alicia stated how she made her boyfriend and writing partner Kerry "Krucial" Brothers wait a whole year for sex. The whole interview was basically about aids awareness and the important beneficiaries of wearing a condom. It is definetely a must-read if you like to have sex on the regular.

Speaking of which, I was reading a report the other day urging all women to stop having unprotected sex. Apparently, breakthrough research reveal that male fluids can speed the spread of cervical cancer AND womb cancer. Women who have missed smear tests or have the disease but have not been diagnosed are the ones mostly at risk especially if they're not using some form of contraception. British researchers have discovered a chemical in seminal fluid which speeds the growth and spread of those cancers. Womb cancer affects 6,000 a year, killing 1,500. Women who do miss smear tests are already at risk of a late diagnosis which increases the risk of death.

This study was conducted by a team at the Medical Research Council's human reproductive sciences unit. It found that a male's semen had a dramatic effect on cancers accelerating tumour growth in women. Doctors traced the cause of the problem to a chemical called prostaglandin. This behaves like a hormone and is found in concentrated levels in semen. It is also present in the female reproductive organs - but at levels of 1,000 lower.

So basically, from what I read, it's saying that safe sex is a must if you want to prevent accelerated exposure to this chemical that makes the condition worse. So ladies (and gents), if you think that aids and curable STD's is the only thing you have to worry about, think again.
