Janet Jackson is the ultimate entertainment pioneer and has been so for the past 20 years. Coming from one of the most famous musical families in showbiz history, Janet has proven herself a force to be reckoned with. It took hard work, motivation and extraordinary drive to shake off the tag that she was the little sister of the legendary Michael Jackson, to the point where she became his biggest competitor. Gracing us with impressive and sharp dance choreography, edgy, sexy, colourful and innovative (conservative) music as well as movies (Poetic Justice & The Nutty Professor 2), Janet is still fighting strong after a long catalogue of classic achievements. Even today, her impact and footwork can be seen incorporated into the live performances of the younger musical generation (Britney Spears and Ciara). This week is Janet's make or break where her new album 20 Y.O gets released today internationally and tomorrow in the US. To celebrate her outstanding contribution to 20 years of music, I have composed a montage of all my favourite Janet Jackson pictures which outline the different faces of Janet throughout her whole 20 years in music.
