As I put this entry together, the VMA's are taking place as I speak, but later today, you can read my exclusive reviews on styling, wardrobe malfunctions, appearances and of course performances. In the aftermath of VMA season, a lot of celebrity parties and events took place to mark the occassion. I will be concentrating on all of the R&B acts so get your VMA R&B scoop later today!
Timbaland (2nd left) celebrates MTV VMAs with celebrity bash. In chrononological order, Carl Thomas, Kanye West, Christina Milian and boyfriend Dre attended the bash alongside a whole number of celebrity guests.

JD obviously sees the other R&B chicks as a threat to his woman because if he didn't he would NOT have felt the need to attack Beyonce and them. And when Janet was on BET, she made it very clear that Ciara reminded her of herself. Translation: "I saw that copycat Ciara Get Up video and it's a straight jack from my Rhythm Nation days". Well, Janet now you have the chance to show the imitators how it REALLY should be done. PLEASE don't fuck up. What is it with all these R&B folks naming their albums after a time period? Brian McKnight has called his album "10" because it's supposedly an ode to this upcoming album being his 10th. And Omarion has called his upcoming album "21" because this year is his 21st birthday. Janet has called her album 20 Y.O because she's been in the music industry for two decades. Like Omarion, Beyonce also used the birthday theme for her new album but without the numerals. Anyway folks, mark your calendars for 13th September. I know I will!

I felt bad for Christina. It was like Gwen Stefani last yr. when she didn't win anything. But anyway I loved her performance. I heard that she was sick too and she still sounded good. I liked Justin's My Love Performance, I wasn't feeling the SexyBack part. Beyonce was alright. I didn't like the dance break. I loved Shakira though. Hated Luda because PCD had no need to be up there w/ him. TI was good. Overall it sucked.
I pretty much agree with everything the person before me said.
Justin coulda kept that lacklustre performance of SexyBack, Beyonce dance-break should have been more climactic, or at least better tied-in, but the part where they looked like they were operating vehicles was pretty well-done. But the rest of her set was really hot, I thought. As for Christina Ag, well she definitely deserved at least one of the awards snatched away from her. Christina didn't do HER best singing, but better than most of the performances of the evening with her very simplistic take. Yes, she was sick, and you could tell, but only in a couple spots, and she still pulled it through. Shakira was SO much fun, and T.I. was pretty straight-forward hip-hop fun. Luda tried to be too over-the-top, but hey...he looked hot. PCD made no sense just appearing for 2 seconds, though.
2 last notes:
1.) I wish Beyonce had really stressed the "...but this is my SHOW and I won't let you GO" because that line is powerful, especially considering she was at an awards show. And why did she wear that coat for so long?
2.) This was the worst awards show EVER as far as the winners go. Christina was robbed, Panic! at the Disco was robbed, the list was endless.

Justin the seel out was great of course and Christina was perfect, they were the top performers. Beyonce performance was crap a reendition of Janet to the tee at the end ONLY Janet can do that. The dancing wasrealy nothing and the lifting stage was unnecessary because so ddn't lead up to it as great. She pulled off her coat and I guess everyone was too be excited but I was not impressed. Even the claps in the audience were shifty. Very dissapointing VMA's. I thought Rhianna was to perform on the pre-show or whatever
I thought I was the only one who noticed it until I read the last comment. I love Bee but she totally jacked Janet Jackson's dance routine at the end of her song! That was not cool! MTV won't let Janet perform so I guess she's supposed to be the new Janet or something?!? I was not feelin' that. In fact, her whole performance was weak. No doubt Beyonce can sing, no one can ever deny her that, but I didn't enjoy the performance at all, and once again, when she stole Janet's moves, I was through. She copied that to a tee, how about inventing your own instead of copying someone else's dance routine? I don't know what's up with Beyonce these days. But anyway, I was disappointed with the VMA's this year period. Jack Black was not funny and overall it was pretty boring.

Ok...well he's my review of the main performances.
Justin Timberlake did really well opening the show. I believe his vocals were probably the best they had been in a long time and he was really able to get everyone hyped despite not everyone liking "Sexyback"
Beyonce, Beyonce, Beyonce. Her performance was hot ALTHOUGH I HAVE ONE COMPLAINT. That little dance sequence that is reminiscent of Janet's Rhythm Nation days kind of pissed me off because it was the SAME dance sequence that her guys did on the tour. It would have been better if she would have gotten something that was different. I felt like I was watching the Destiny Fulfilled DVD. She did great other than that though.
Christina Aguilera...she did ok. There were times when her vocals just weren't as good as I know she can be (by the way, I'm a die hard fan of hers so the fact that I'm even saying anything negative must show SOMETHING wasn't quite right). Other than that, it was nice. She looked nice and for the most part she sounded wonderful.
The tribute to Hype Williams was cool because I believe that "Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Can See" is one of the best songs by Busta. Also I thought it was funny how Missy couldn't get out of the car.

Justin's performance was the bets performances of the night, and i can't say i liked Bee's performance very much, and the song ring the alarm is shit.Xtina was robbed, wtf did kelly clarkson win, that video was like a year old. I felt bad for xtina, and kanya west.
Lol. You can always point a B stan out. Anyway, I'm glad that Justin decided to not copy Michael Jackson like he did last time because I would've been turned off by him like I was of Beyonce last night. It's just not good to profit off of someone when they're down.
Alrighty then...you try remembering several types of songs and choreographies to them, then try performing LIVE in front of, a couple thousand people screaming your name and try to make sure EVERYTHING is on point. When you do all these things...then you can say whatever you feel how I performed, I respect your opinion but it's no need to criticize...And Janet Jackson has always been an inspiration to me; I respect her as an artist and as a women but I DID NOT copy anything from her. I appreciate all the positive comments and feedback, thankyou!
Beyonce's Janet routine was actualy to show the world she is not in competition with Janet ,but that she's actually inspired by her hard work ,and dedication. I thought the performance was on point. The outfit was amazing ,and her vocals was on point not missing a stich..

Beyonce's "Ring the alarm" performance WAS aight, but it coulda been hotter. Still, the song comes off better live than on the record. I felt the same way about "Deja vu" - the song always came off better live. I don't think the chick has it in her to hit a abd note!! I love the crazy chick look too. THAT works good live too, 'cos she's on stage and shit. *lol* B did good. I will also be copping B'Day. That was never in question. I have to admit, I've been playing that album to death lately. *smiles*
As for JT - I thought his performance coulda been a bit better. His "My love" performance was SICK!!! Much better than "SexyBack". The way that beat dropped and with the lights and shit. I want "My love" on Instrumental" NOW! *lol*

Aguilera did the damn thing. Nuff said. She came different and stood out for it. Most artists would've dropped a dancier number, but she dropped a slow number. Her voice was so on point. Her live performances for her "Back to basics" album have all been hot. Her MTV movie awards performace still sticks in my mind - that shit was fire.
