Deepest Thoughts - Brandy [download: full]
This is a brand new track which is suppose to make Brandy's as yet untitled new album. The song is mellow and nice and is definetely a chill-back record. I see that she's found back her vocal stability. All the leaked stuff that has come out has surprisingly been very good matter of fact. I know she's not selling like she use to but that could be because none of her albums after Never Say Never have been all that outstanding, standard yet but not brilliant. I think this song is a step in the right production.

Pisces - Trey Lorenz & Mariah Carey [download: full]
A new ballad from the sweetly voiced Trey Lorenz and the spectacular vocally ranged Ms Mariah. It's been quite a while since I've heard a very impressive male and female R&B collaborated ballad since Tamia and Eric Benet's Spend My Life. Mariah has been the collaborator of some of R&B's ballad classics (One Sweet Day with Boyz II Men and Endless Love with Luther Vandross). If it serves me correctly, these two once collaborated on the Men In Black soundtrack and the song was pretty good. This laidback track shows that these two suit and compliment each others artistry whole-heartedly.

Phoney - Shareefa [download: radio rip]
Phoney is the type of song that a lot of females can relate to, about a petty female who acts like she's your friend but turns out being fake and of course ... phoney. I'm sure we've all come across a female who turned out not being what she makes out to be. I know that I have. I don't get too close to anyone these days and unless you've known that person for a great amount of time you shouldn't reveal too much or open yourself up too much because before you know it your business is on front street and she's telling everyone that you own five pairs of draws and that you enjoy snogging sessions with your pet dog Snoop.

One Mo Gin (Oh Baby) - Chris Brown [download: full]
I'm not sure where this comes from. Some say it's a new track from his new album and some say it's an unreleased track whatever. Well, if it's a new track I'm quite sad that his voice hasn't broken yet since he'll be reaching the big 1.8 next year (well at least I don't have to feel guilty any more for fancying him). This midtempo joint displays Chris at his sexiest best.

Fire - Kelis [download: full]
This is a bonus track from her latest new album Kelis Was Here. I don't know what to make ofthe song to be honest with you. I can't even say whether I like it or not which is just bizarre.Nevertheless, it's different all the same and another song that you die-hard Kelis fans can enjoyand listen to!

Thankyou soooo MUCH Toya! I'm feelin Miss Shareefa, I wonder how long she's been singing for?

Toya this shows how little you really know about music. Mariah previously recorded with Trey on her now classic remake of the Jackson 5 classic "I'll Be there" from MTV Unplugged.

Please. I already knew that. I have Mariah's greatest hits, and I've already stated that they've worked together in the past.

ps

I don't consider Mariah's version to be a classic by the way. But that's just me. Her other ballads were classics but not this one.

Anon, I'm not sure but I'm totally feeling Shareefa right about now.

Trey Lorenz has been doing the back-up thing for Mariah for years! He put a CD of his own out year ago too. I have it... but I'm not sure if it was a hit nationally. The brother can sing!!

i'm loving that trey and mariah track. i agree toya that their voices just seem to fit together. mariah has been trying for years to get him out of the background , but like the person above me said his first album didn't do so great . i hope he has better luck this time around because he has so much talent. i'm trying to get into the brandy track, i'm surprisingly not feeling the kelis track, and i haven't listened to the chris brown or the shareefa one yet . thanks for posting toya .

I don't know what are you talkin' about, Toya!!! ''Afrodisiac'' is definitely the best album that Brandy recorded. She and Timbaland made a great job and I don't know why people didn't recognize that! I love Brandy and all her albums, but my opinion is that ''Afrodisiac'' shows her in the best light - she sounds great, and lyrics and production are so muture and sophisticated. ''Never say never'' is great. But not so great when you compare it with ''Afrodisiac''. And, don't you go with that how ''Never Say Never'' is Brandy's best selling album. Like I said - I don't know why ''Afrodisiac'' had a bad sale, but it's so much better than album from ''The Boy Is Mine'' era.

By the way, I love your site and your comments. Keep doin' what you do 'cause girl I like it, heh! Luv!

P.S. Anybody have that Aaliyah track ''Time''?

TOYA WHEN DOES MIMI SING IN THAT SONG WITH TREY LORENZ??? I JUST WANNA HEAR HER NICE VOICE SO BAD!!

Anonymous said...

I don't hear much MC in that track either, only in the background vocals at the bridge. & Again, you can barely tell it was her. & yeah, they collab'd on a song on the MIB soundtrack called "Make You Happy". Trey's album aptly titled "Mimi Presents: Trey Lorenz" will be in stores September 29th.
