More Mobo tidbits. It has been confirmed that Beyonce and Jay-Z were in London last night but they decided NOT to show up at the Mobo Awards ceremony and after last night who could blame them? The ceremony was pointless. Artists who only released one single after 2-3 weeks were nominated (Jamelia and Alesha Dixon). Artists who hadn't released their own music in 2 years were nominated (Alicia Keys and Jay-Z), artists who went into short retirement and hadn't released any music in over a year won a gong (Jay-Z) but yet Jay-Z's good friend Mariah Carey who released an amazing album last year and a couple of singles this year didn't even get a nod. I say they should scrap the Awards completely. How do you miss out Mariah Carey who did big things recently but give recognition to Alicia Keys, Alesha Dixon and Jamelia who hasn't made much of an impact lately? Anyway, Jay-Z is currently in the UK to kickstart his European tour. As I reported earlier, Ms Dynamite's younger brother Akala will be supporting Jay-Z on his current tour. Akala won an Award for Best Hip Hop beating out Busta Rhymes in the process.

Get Away - Monica [download: clip]
After receiving that roasting from Miss Jones for "dumbing down" her vocal talent for singing songs like Everytime The Beat Drops, Monica goes back to using the beautiful soulful voice we all know she is capable of. Still I didn't get the big deal. It's not like her whole album is snap music. From what I'm hearing, her album sounds like it's going to be pretty laidback and she does go back to classic Monica with 2nd single A Dozen Roses (which I have had on repeat mode for the past couple of months now). If you still haven't heard A Dozen Roses, Hell No, Why Her, Sideline Ho and Everytime The Beat Drops, I'll put them up shortly. Anyway, here is a new track taken from Monica's new album The Makings of Me. The song is called Get Away and it's a beautiful piano-laid ballad and yes I'm totally feeling it. I'm a sucker for those big Monica ballads and she had some phenomenal ones on her Boy Is Mine album (Inside, being one of them). Miss Jones, you can shut up now!

Fantasia Album Sampler (2006) [download: clips]
So far so good! I'm loving what I'm hearing judging by the sampler. I love the second and third track. The third track is upbeat, funky and fresh, I love it! And as for her vocals, it seems like she toned it down a little because she actually sounds good and she does things with her voice that was not reflective on her last album. I'm not saying she couldn't sing because I was shocked when my friend said she couldn't sing. She was like, "oh that Fantasia is a scratchier version of Mary J Blige" Okay, I'll admit that she strains and tries to sing outside her range so sometimes she do sound horrible as her vocals won't allow her to go to the level that she tries to make them go. But she can sing in my opinion. She just has that kind of voice that compliments a choir, kind of like Kelly Price. But when she DOES sing in her range, she sounds good. I am so anticipating this new album as reported a couple of days ago.

Close 2 U - Fergie [download: full]
This is yet another fantastic bonus track from Fergie's new album The Dutchess. Vocally, she brings the heat with this soft and mellow R&B track. I tend to favour her midtempo and slow jams to any of her fast beat joints. Glamorous has been on repeat in the car for the past week now (thank God that wasn't a bonus track). Again, this is another bonus track from an artist that should've made the album's final cut. I actually think these songs compliment her more than anything but I guess she didn't want to alienate her fan base. Her album sales should be pretty interesting next week. With Justin Timberlake selling 684,000 copies this week with FutureSex/LoveSounds and Beyonce going gold in first week sales the week before, the pressure is really on.

Big thanks to Booskee for providing the hook-up. By the way, I STILL haven't gotten round to listen to that new Mario Vasquez album or the new Brooke Hogan album. They are just sitting there on my computer looking pretty *lol* I've been so busy. I haven't had chance to listen to much music lately. I know I'm slacking. Hopefully, the reviews should be up tonight or tomorrow.

In a major week for new releases, Justin Timberlake's "FutureSex/LoveSounds" (Jive) rises to the top of The Billboard 200 with 684,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. It's the artist's first No. 1; his solo debut, "Justified," entered at No. 2 with 439,000 copies in 2002.

John Mayer makes his sixth appearance on The Billboard 200 in five years with "Continuum" (Aware/Columbia), which debuts at No. 2 with 300,000. Its 2003 predecessor, "Heavier Things," entered at No. 1 with 317,000. "Continuum" crowns the Top Rock Albums and Top Internet Albums charts this week as well.

After debuting at No. 1 last week, Beyonce's "B'Day" slips to No. 3 with 162,000 copies, a whopping sales decrease of 70%. With his first album in more than a decade, Bob Seger enters at No. 4 with "Face the Promise" (151,000). This Hideout/Capitol effort marks Seger's sixth visit to the chart's top five and first since 1986's "Like a Rock" peaked at No. 3.

Bob Dylan's "Modern Times" slips 3-5 with 93,000 copies, a sales dip of 27%. At No. 6, Lionel Richie's "Coming Home" (Island) lands him in the top 10 for the first time since 1986's "Dancing on the Ceiling." The set moved 75,000 copies, Richie's best one-week sum since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking data in 1991.

Hinder's "Extreme Behavior" continues to climb up the top 10, reaching a new peak position by moving 10-7 after 33 weeks on the chart. The Universal Republic effort moved 64,000 with a 19% sales increase. Danity Kane's self-titled Bad Boy release falls 4-8 with 62,000 (-24%).

I didn't go to the scan sites. I read on another gossip site that this is what he sold. Oh well. Shame on Justin. I'll go correct my mistake.

I dont get the Monica track. Is it the FULL version like it states or not? because it says "download:full" rather than "download:clip" but if it's 2 minutes long?? the confirmed tracklist says it's nearly 4 minutes.

Hey Toya, Glamorous uses the same beat as the "Luxurious Remix" from Gwen Stefani with Ludacris.. So when I heard Fergies song I was like: Damn I downloaded a wrong record edition, lol!!
