THE VMAS: MY VIEWS

Getty and Wireimages were in VMA heaven last night. There are thousands of pictures and as there are soooo much to choose from I was practically racking my brains, deciding which ones I should put on my blog. Even though I had my work cut out, it was great fun putting the pictures together!

American Idol contestant Mario Vasques arrived. I'm glad he's not allowing the gay controversy to wreck his chances at stardom. Wasn't his album suppose to drop last month? What happened? Pushed back? I would think so. If that shit is out, someone needs to provide me with the hook-up STAT! In American Idol news, Simon Cowell has flown over to the United States this week for American Idol 6.

The Pussy Cat Dolls made a brief appearance for Luda's performance Money Maker, and they cheer with joy as they get their award. Christina Aguilera (right) was a complete showstopper and she takes a picture with man of the moment TI and the love of her life, hubby Jordan Bratman.

I was feeling Beyonce's white dress on the Red Carpet and her golden mane was on point. She looked really pretty and my heart had swollen with pride because she's one of those beautiful black women that has achieved so much and whom is doing it big right now. I hope her new album sales lots and lots. As for her performance, I thought she KILLED IT! The choreography was ON POINT and I'm so happy she wasn't being spontaneous. She straight jacked Janet's Rhythm Nation during that little breakdown but I'm taking it as some kind of Janet tribute. Speaking of Janet, here's her cover for Ebony. She looks nice but her stomach looks like it's been lippo-ed (yikes). As for Beyonce's Ring The Alarm performance, I also remember some of that choreography from the Destiny's Fulfilled concert back in Atlanta. That performance alone has won her my consumerism. I WILL be buying B'Day next week when it drops on Monday. Her body was also on point also. I thought the costume was hot and she was looking a lot like a black Jennifer Lopez. Christina Aguilera's performance was absolutely fantastic. You don't need spectacular choreography or to put on a freak show to wow an audience. She wowed me BIG time. Her vocals were out of this world. The emotion, the raw passion, the deepness, inner feeling, soul, it could all be heard in her voice. I keep saying that she's the Mariah of our generation and I mean every word. I think last nights performance earned her that accolade in my opinion. Hurt is such a powerful song and I'm so glad it's going to be the next single. I cannot wait for the video and her red dress, the Marilyn Monroe image, I absolutely loved it. Her red carpet outfit was also gorgeous. Married life has definetely brought out the best in Christina no doubt.

Justin Timberlake's performance made me smile especially when Timbaland came onto the stage and wait for it ...started dancing! Instead of staying behind the scenes with producing he decided to come out to the forefront and taste the glory. Still, I don't blame him. He is responspible for a lot of the hits that has coerced Justin's career,especially the brilliant Cry Me A River. And even though I don't care for SexyBack as a song, that version sounded kind of good. I loved the performance, actually both performances. My Love is definetely my song. Fantastic choice for second single, but then his new album FutureSex/LoveSounds is so good, nearly every song is single material in my opinion. Ludacris had a good performance and was doing okay with Pharrell at his side. I didn't get why Pussy Cat Dolls came in at the end. They weren't really needed in my opinion. I guess they were added to spice up the performance towards the end. I would've loved for Nicole to perform her track with Puffy OR for the Pussy Cat Dolls to perform Buttons. But since everyone came hard with their performances, I am not complaining at all. Fergie's pre-show performance of London Bridge was not bad. The crowds were feeling her. I can't wait for her new album The Dutchess. 17 days to go and counting. Another HOT performance was Shakira and Wyclef. Well, I don't think anyone was paying much attention to Wyclef. All eyes were on the beautiful Shakira. That chick sure does know how to bust out into some ethnical pleasing moves. You have to give it to her because the chick knows how to perform.

Overall, the show was very good. Everyone did great. I don't have a bad word to say about any of the performances. I do have one or two negative things to say. Monica looks like a dried up prune with that blonde weave, and she needs to eat. Her and Brandy must be on the same crack diet as Whitney Houston and Faith Evans. I am sorry, there is nothing cute about being shaped like a pre-pubescent 12-year-old little boy. If you can buy some weave, you can buy yourself some tits and a sackful of carbs. Jessica Simpson looked cheap in that hooker dress. It's as if she got dressed in the dark or said "fuck it, I'll throw on the first thing I see". I am sorry. You're attending one of the biggest glitzy celebrity events of the year and one that your ex-husband and new squeeze will be attending and Vanessa practically shitted on her. Vanessa looked gorgeous and her dress was absolutely stunning. But then, if I had luscious Nick I'd look as gorgeous too. When you have an attractive man on your arm, you want to look good for him. And ever since Jessica divorced Nick, she seems to have let herself go, like Britney Spears. Hate to say it, but Britney was gorgeous and was always glowing whenever she was with Justin, but now she looks like a tramp with scraggly hair who walks around barefooted looking like a total pizza face. Of course since she is now married to trailer trash, she is going to start living like one but that's a whole 'nother story. And why was Nick pictured with EVERYONE but Vanessa? I was searching for pictures EVERYWHERE and did not see these two together. I think he didn't want to be pictured with her because he knew Jessica was at the event and he didn't want to create an awkward atmosphere. Nick is clearly still in love with Jessica and wants to keep his new romance with Vanessa under-wraps but she wants to parade it. Nick may feel it is too early for that because he is still not over Jessica and Vanessa could just be the rebound chick. I DO like them as a couple though.

Jennifer Lopez arrived with her hubby all loved up shutting down rumours that her marriage to Marc Anthony is in trouble. The question on everyone's lips is whether she is to be expecting or isn't she? I certainly didn't see the face of a pregnant woman and a woman's face becomes fuller when she's pregnant. Her outfit certainly didn't convey any type of maternity whatsoever and her stomach was flat as all hell. Hmmmm ... hate to say it but Jennifer has been pregnant 200 times this year. She's blessed. She has got to be the most fertile woman on earth alongside Halle Berry. And if she DID stick with Puffy, he'd have knocked her ass up a long time ago. But mama Guadalupe secretly despised Puffy because he is a nigga and she didn't want nigga grandchildren. I was even told that Jennifer's sister Linda also dated a black man and Guadalupe was well against it. But when Jennifer hooked up with Ben Affleck, a white man who happened to be a highly respected Hollywood actor and America's no 1 heart throb, she doted on her rich, powerful and extremely handsome future white son in law like flies on shit. I wonder how Jennifer REALLY feels since all her exes are having babies (Ben had one with Jennifer Garner and Puffy is reported to be seeing fatherhood once again since Kim Porter is supposedly pregnant) so again, I wonder how she feels since she has yet to pop one out herself. Marc Anthony doesn't want any more children and I think this marriage is one big pretence and will falter if Jenny doesn't see the patter of tiny feet any time soon.
