THURSDAY'S FAB R&B APPEARANCES

Yesterday, Beyonce attended her 2007 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue Party and looked nice. However, there has been MUCH speculation regarding the TIMING and REASONING behind Beyonce's Sports Illustrated cover. It is believed that Beyonce is secretly fuming about Jennifer Hudson appearing on the front cover of Vogue magazine. It was announced MANY weeks ago that Jennifer would be getting the Vogue cover and at the mention of this, her father Matthew Knowles allegedly went into overdrive to ensue that Beyonce doesn't get outshone. Calls were obviously made which is how Beyonce possibly got the cover:

Beyonce's Sports Illustrated cover came into play a DAY after Jennifer Hudson's Vogue cover got released, and many have argued that this is no coincidence. After all, a lot of emphasis is now being put on the fact that Beyonce is the second black woman to ever grace the cover of Sports Illustrated coveted Swimsuit Issue. Former Top Model Tyra Banks (left) became the first when she scored the highly anticipated cover in 1997. Hmmmm .... would this have anything to do with it being widely reported that Jennifer Hudson is the first black woman to appear in the March power issue of Vogue, from since two decades ago? The conspiracy theories don't stop there either. Originally, Sports Illustrated was thinking about giving it to Tyra since it had been EXACTLY 10 years since she first graced the cover. She was supposedly on a strict diet to prove that she "still had it" in light of her "fat pictures" controversy. The swimsuit edition is the biggest of the year just like how the March edition is the biggest edition of the year for Vogue magazine also. COINCIDENCE? Anyway, Beyonce has done the high fashion spreads and covers before so IF she is fuming at Jennifer getting Vogue, she should equally be just happy. The girl is the 2nd black woman to grace the coveted swimsuit cover of SI and that's to be celebrated no matter who does it. Of course other celebrities attended the event but yesterday, it was all about Beyonce. And she did look fab. I am glad she wasn't rocking the tacky lace front wig and the two-tone hair was mad hot. Actually her hair was HOT period. Wasn't feeling the dress OR the snake-like shoes but Beyonce pulled it off. Poor snake.
