JENNIFER HUDSON MAKES HISTORY

Jennifer Hudson graces the latest Vogue cover just like I reported a couple of weeks ago and now here is the proof. The photos were taken at the legendary Apollo Theater in Harlem by Annie Leibovitz. Ya'll know you have to pick it up to get rid of the theory that "black covers don't sell". Jennifer is the first BLACK woman to appear on the March issue of Vogue since 1980. In 1980, it was Sheila Johnson. And supermodel Naomi Campbell appeared on it in 1989.

I think it's a horrid photoshoot and could have been MUCH better. She could have done with a much more dignified pose. When I look at the picture I don't really see a diva who has taken the world by storm as of late. What's up with the big-open mouth smile? It makes her kind of foolish, which is a shame considering that she got the power issue of one of the world's biggest fashion magazines. The editorial pictures are just as bad, if not worse. It just doesn't really cut it. Where's the sultry pout? Where's that dignified and strongly confident pose as if to tell everyone that she's fly? Even though times are definetely changing and it is one of the biggest achievements EVER since Halle's Oscar win back in 2002, I don't see a powerful dignified pose. The front cover is pretty disappointing, but a massive congrats to her because I think it's well deserved. Proceed with the post to see TWO more editorial shots from the shoot.
