THE 49TH ANNUAL GRAMMY AWARDS: TOYA'S FASHION REVIEWS

The 49th Annual Grammys took place on Sunday but for the UK fans the Awards airs TONIGHT at 10pm on ITV2. It was a night that honors the best of the best in the music industry, but it's also a night where the best of the best strut their stuff in the hottest and trendiest outfits so check out my reviews as to who looked drab and who looked fab.

Close-nit pals Rihanna and Ne-yo attended the event and Rihanna looked absolutely gorgeous and could do no wrong with her ensemble. Proceed with the post to read my reviews and to see more pictures of the event.

THE ATTENDEES:

I'm not that particularly keen on the colour green but the colour worked in Rihanna's favour. Her dress was absolutely gorgeous and I will go as far as to say Rihann was the best dressed female of the night. She brought sheer elegance to the show with her one shoulder green dress that was cut on one side of the stomach area. The design had a low-cut back with a single strap. The dress also draped perfectly and beautifully to the ground.

Beyonce arrived at the Grammy's with the whole Knowles clan. She was accompanied by her mama Tina, sister Solange and nephew Daniel.

Now why is it little Daniel ALWAYS has a "I will keel yo ass" expression on his face? Little man is always looking dead serious. Anyway, I wasn't feeling Beyonce's whole ensemble. The hair was horribly over the top. The dress was frumpish and everything about her style yesterday was so unfitting.

Jennifer Hudson has usually been on point over the past couple of weeks but it seems she forgot to pop into Walmart to pick up a packet of gillette. If those hairy armpits are anything to go by, it ruined her whole appearance altogether. And with the fold, it was like looking at an unkempt vagina. What a damn shame:

Well, there was no embarrassing misshaps from Corrine Bailey Rae and Jamie Foxx. Christina Aguilera looked nice and atended the event with her man Jordan Bratman.

Jennifer Hudson was pobably oblivious to the hairy armpit fiasco as she posed with Ciara and Ludacris for this photo op:

More of the celebrity-filled audience included Mary J, Chris Brown, Ciara, Justin Timberlake and Timbaland.

Danity Kane was also at the event, as was:

Nelly Furtado, Prince, The Pussy Cat Dolls, Shakira and Wyclef who were all there during the show/red carpet moment.

THE WINNERS:

The Black Eyed Peas won for Pop Performance by a Duo or Group With Vocal: "My Humps,"

Mary J Blige won for Female R&B Vocal Performance: "Be Without You," R&B Album: "The Breakthrough," and R&B Song: "Be Without You".

Christina Aguilera won a grammy for Female Pop Vocal Performance for "Ain't No Other Man," though in my opinion she should have won for "Hurt".

Justin Timberlake won TWO grammy's for Dance Recording: "Sexy Back" and for Rap/Sung Collaboration: "My Love," featuring T.I.

John Legend won a grammy for Male R&B Vocal Performance: "Heaven" and Beyonce won for Contemporary R&B Album: "B'Day".

THE PERFORMANCES:

Christina Aguilera pouted her traditional red lips during her performance of 'It's a Man's Man's Man's World'. The performance got bad reviews because it was stated that she "lacked soul" and "hit all the wrong notes".

Chris Brown also did a James Brown tribute and joined Lionel Richie on stage. Everyone is saying how this boy is fast becoming a dancing pioneer and that Usher should be quaking in his boots but NOBODY needs to tell me that because I've been saying for the longest time that Chris is one of the best male dancers in the game now and yes, he is a better mover than Usher. He is just more fluent in his steps and it doesn't hurt that he's a cutie.

Shakira wore a gold top cut short under her bust, revealing her well-toned stomach. It was one of those dresses that draped to the ground and I thought she looked absolutely stunning.

Beyonce in my opinion, failed to keep up the style of elegance with a performance from one of her songs from the movie, "Dreamgirls." She had two white flowers on one side of her hair along with her signature style big earrings. Her performance outfit was a sequin-fitted dress, which was of sheered material and a U-shaped neckline.

Mary J. Blige appeared on stage in an empire dress. She topped her look off with a big belt. The dress was an ivory color with sequins and draped to her ankle. I guess it was okay for Mary. I wasn't really keen on any of the outfits she wore that night as a matter of fact but either way a MASSIVE congrats for all of her Grammy wins as they were well deserved. The Breakthrough was a pretty damn good album.

As pictured, other R&B performances included John Legend, Corinne Bailey Rae and Justin Timberlake.
