Beyoncé is celebrating a double whammy!!!! Not only has her new album 'Renaissance' debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200, her lead single 'Break My Soul' is also now #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
It becomes her eighth #1 single, and serves as her first solo #1 on the Hot 100 in over 13 and a half years.
Beyoncé joins Mariah Carey as the only artists to earn a #1 single on the Hot 100 in FOUR separate decades (90s, 00s, 10s, 20s). It's actually nice to see how she's debunked the dreaded ageism in the industry and the belief that an artist (especially a female artist) loses her impact over the age of 40. She did this and the beautiful thing about it is that she didn't have to deliver a single live performance, interview or music video to achieve that feat. All 16 songs from Beyoncé’s 'Renaissance' album have now charted on this week’s Billboard Hot 100!
This might encourage other artists to consider a similar strategy when it comes to their album rollouts too, because simply put, if the music is good and that artist has established a name for themselves, people will support it regardless.

As a skeptical of the album at first, ngl, it has gained replay value & non-skip now (even with tracks i dont like).
That hasn’t happened since Terrell Grice Welcome to the Cookout & Ali Cadwell 88!!
The mixes, the engineering, the vocals. *chef kiss*
However, i was thinkin yesterday that she simply confirmed they will be 3 acts but never confirmed the pop/afrobeats/r&b things people are mentioning.
What if act II is just the music videos & act III the tour or a live album or a duet album?
You just never know with Beyoncé.
