When people say Mariah Carey has now resigned herself to being a Christmas act, that's actually really funny because when she announces a concert, there is always hype even with no new music on the horizon.
Earlier today, the legendary diva announced that she is set to headline the Global Citizen Festival in New York on September 24th, in honor of its 10th anniversary. Since the first Global Citizens Festival in 2012, the rockfest has amplified global issues, including poverty, education, and climate change.
This would be Mariah's first public performance since June with Latto at the BET awards. It would be nice to see her switch up the setlist and make some fresh changes to her performance next month, but knowing Mariah, she will probably just play it safe. I'm sure lambs won't mind, but unfortunately, tickets are a bit challenging to get. Those interested would need to download the Global Citizen app or visit the Global Citizen website and go through certain processes in order to be entered into a draw. I mean... she's a legend and all, but her performances are not that great to be going through all that aggro and still not be guaranteed a ticket.
