CHART ROUND UP: R&B ALBUM SALES (TOP 50) ....

Wednesday is the day where the final sales come in. So let's look at how Bobby Valentino did. Bobby debuted at a respectable position of no3 with his sophomore album "Special Occassion". This does look good but the album sales certainly didn't match. He sold a lackluster 90,752 copies - half of what he sold the last time with his debut two years ago. Am I surprised? Hell yeah, because I thought that Special Occassion was a hot album and especially MUCH better than his debut. Ne-yo had the no1 album last week. However," Because of You" slips down to no4 having sold 84,183 copies this week (down by 66%). Amy Whinehouse's "Back to Black" remains a non-mover at no13 having sold 37,322 copies and still counting (up 11%). Robin Thicke's performance on American Idol a couple of weeks ago seems to have done wonders as he's slowly crawling back up the charts. The brilliant "The Evolution of Robin Thicke" moves up a spot (3%) and comfortably sits at no15.

Then we have the R&B albums that were released eons ago but are still continuing to make their mark, some doing better than others. Fergie's "The Dutchess" is up by 3% at position no17. Justin Timberlake's "FutureSex/LoveSounds" moves up 4 places (7%) at no 18. At 21, Gwen Stefani's "The Sweet Escape" moves up by 8%. At 26, Joss Stone's "Introducing Joss Stone" remains a non-mover. At no 27, Beyonce's "B'Day" drops by 14%. At 29, Nelly Furtado's "Loose" moves up by 27%. Joe's "Aint Nothin' Like Me" takes a big drop by 29% and sits at 31. At 36, Corinne Bailey Rae drops by just 11% with her self-titled album. Musiq Soulchild's "Luvanmusiq" is right behind her at no37 with an increase of 11% and lastly, at 48, Lloyd's "Street Love" takes a MASSIVE drop by 32%.

So that's your R&B round up on today's billboard album's chart. What do ya'll think of these figures? Should Bobby have sold much more than he has?
