During a Twitter Spaces chat with fans earlier today, Mariah Carey reveals that she reached out to Britney Spears, amid everything she's been going through. She goes on to say she hates how women get screwed over in the music industry. Mariah and Britney were both mocked when they had very public breakdowns. Britney was publicly slut shamed by her ex Justin Timberlake, who suffered zero consequences for exposing Janet Jackson's nipple at the Super Bowl. Janet had her entire career blacklisted in the aftermath. For an entire decade, JoJo was held hostage by Blackground Records. Ariana Grande was publicly fondled, while Taylor Swift had her masters swiped right from underneath her by Scooter Braun.
All of these women were exploited and abused by their labels, media, male execs and the public and deserve an apology. On a more positive note, Mariah re-confirmed she’s planning to do another song with Brandy so those that weren't satisfied with their recent remake of 'The Roof' can now have a real collaboration to look forward to!
