Letoya Luckett seems really excited about her sophomore album. In an interview this week, she said she's now working on the second album, which she hopes will be released by November:
"I've grown so much musically," she says. "I'm doing a lot more writing on this album than I did on the last. It's fun going into the studio and working and pouring my heart out on the record. It's a lot more fun. It doesn't feel like work to me." The former Destiny's Child singer was happy to talk about the sound of the yet-to-be titled album, too. She also revealed that fans will hear at least a couple new songs. "I hope you guys love it," she said. "I'm an '80s baby — that was my era — so I'm trying to take some of those elements and bring them into my music."
Yesterday, she also opened up for Mary J Blige where she was rumoured to have sang two new joints from the new album. One of the rumoured joints is believed to be called "Lady Love". Some of the producers she is collaborating with on the new set include Dr. Dre, Rodney Jerkins, and Babyface. I really look forwards to her album because her last one was hot and I'm totally feeling her new line-up.
