Last year, I remember posting a You Tube clip of Cassie annoucing her first movie role but she wasn't revealing what it was. Well now, that movie has been unveiled. She has been cast in "Step Up 2 the Streets," a sequel to Touchstone Pictures/Summit Entertainment's "Step Up." The Jon Chu-directed sequel is set at the Maryland School of the Arts and follows dance student Patrick (Robert Hoffman) and rebellious new student Andie (Briana Evigan). Cassie will sing in the film and has a new song on the soundtrack. The song is called Is It You and I have an exclusive snippet (Toya's World exclusive). Additionally, Touchstone is holding a MySpace talent competition. Chosen dancers are expected to appear in the film either solo or with their dance crew, while the singer has recorded the track for the film's official soundtrack:
Sounds interesting. And of course this is a hot track, being Cassie. However, when the full track leaks, I will post it. As for her movie, role, I like those type of movies. Maybe Cassie's "talents" will flourish more in the acting than singing field. She's done modelling, singing and now she's trying her hand at acting. Bad Boy has also confirmed that Cassie's sophomore album (rumoured to be called The Return) has been pushed back from October 2007 to February 2008. What the hell is going on in R&B? How come EVERY R&B artist has pushed back their album this year? If Mariah pushes back her album to early 2008, I think I'm going to jump off a 200ft storage building. LOL!
