This is all down to the poor sales of her last album KELIS WAS HERE which was released last year. It's kind of sad because the album was raw, the material was original and different from everything else that was out, and most importantly, the album was far from generic unlike many R&B acts today. Kelis also has her own swagger which I've always respected. Sometimes I'll look at her and think she is BARKING, but that's what makes her more appealing as an artist. Maybe she is marketed the wrong way who knows. I don't think she'll have problems finding another label at all. She has already started recording new material and is looking to indulge the acting sector as well. Jive is also home to big sellers like Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, R.Kelly and Chris Brown.
