Spice Girl Mel B was spotted carrying her 2-month-old daughter Angel Iris into a Los Angeles medical office for a DNA test on Monday in a bid to prove that Eddie Murphy is the father:
Wow. It's sad that things had to come to this but the most sensible thing Eddie Murphy has said since the paternity fiasco is that he would definitely support the child if it is proven to be his. Still, if he really gave a shit he would NOT have had to go to court by force (after all HE was the one who demanded the DNA test in the first place). That alone speaks volumes to me. Murphy was due to travel to London to promote Shrek The Third but couldn't do so due to this appointment.

Yesterday Rihanna appeared at Total Request Live studios to promote her new album Good Girl Gone Bad, out in stores now:
I can't say I'm feeling her style here. But I do appreciate her eye for multi-coloured hairstyles. You see Rihanna rocking different colour streaks each week - pink, purple, blue and now a flaming red. As I reported last week, Rihanna got her UK chart double. Not only is she number one in the singles chart with Umbrella, but her new album Good Girl Gone Bad nabbed the number one spot on Sunday as well. Congrats!

You can tell she was pissed at some of the questions because she thought the guy was being really rude. I am also shocked that she signed a 6-album deal with Def Jam though (most likely one will be a Greatest Hits) so she has two more studio albums to go. Maybe this would explain why the label puts out albums EVERY YEAR which was not normal for an artist back in the day. Alicia Keys takes around 3-4 years to come out with a new album and I remember when Aaliyah took 5 years to come out with her last one just before her untimely death. Most artists usually sign with 3-album contracts just in case they want to come out of that contract for whatever reasons.

It's not like Beyonce to be so camera-shy all of a sudden. Here she is in Dublin to tour Ireland. She had just finished her gig in Manchester and will be touring at the The Point Depot where she booked into the Morrison hotel. Maybe Jay-Z dumped her by phone because he wanted to mess around with Blu Cantrell and now sex with Camel Joe will be nothing but a distant memory. Or Tina told her she had to continue wearing those tacky HOD gear for another 10 years, but whatever the true reason is, surely it can't be all THAT bad. Can it? I keed I keed but on a more serious note, Jay-Z's contract of presidency with Def Jam expires in a few months and folks have been wondering if he planned on staying or walking away from the label. There were also rumours that he and Beyonce would be starting their own super record label. Word has it that this is true. Also, word has it that Bey and Jay have partnered with Apple/iTunes and Music World Entertainment to get the label off of the ground. The catch is that Jay will have the rights to carry over every artist he has signed and/or re-signed to Def Jam since becoming president. That means, Rihanna, Ne-Yo, Nas, Rick Ross, Kanye West, Lady Sovereign, among others will be moving with him. Beyonce, who recently re-released B'Day, will wrap-up her deal with Sony after releasing two new albums. One being a Greatest Hits album and the second a Christmas album which will both be in stores later this year. Interesting. I doubt it's going to happen though, but we will have to see.

This is a definite club jam. The beats are crazy in this one. It's sure to be a hit, and it's a nice single choice.
2. "Baby" (Unmastered) (Produced by will.i.am)
A retro-midtempo. It's futuristic. It's unlike anything on the radio at the moment. It's definitely my favorite.
3. "Just Dance" (Unmastered) (Produced by Akon)
The song is about 'let go of everything, shut up and just dance'. It samples an old '80s song, which I don't know as of now. It's a unique production.
4. "Turn Up the Radio" (Mastered) (Produced by Wyldecard)
I hear this one was a strong contender for the first single. It's more hip-hop than anything else on the demo. I'm glad it's not the single. I don't like it that much.

Kelly Rowland did a performance at London's club "G-A-Y":
Everyone performs here because it is the major place to do a gig if you want widespread recognition. Even Amerie performed here a couple of weeks ago. But there hasn't been much noise surrounding Kelly and I don't think Ms Kelly is going to be as successful as Simply Deep (her first solo album got to no1 in the UK chart in 2002) and that album was wack as hell. Too bad because Ms Kelly does sound like an upgrade but she should just go back to being Beyonce's underdog - background singer. Jennifer Lopez and hubby Marc Anthony were at the Puerto Rican Day Parade over the weekend in New York:
Fans screamed as the float made its way up Fifth Avenue but there were even more screams when Marc and Jen made a surprise repeat appearance. The parade, which is always held on the second Sunday in June honors the nearly 4 million Puerto Ricans on the island itself, as well as the Puerto Ricans and those of Puerto Rican heritage on the U.S. Mainland.

Mary has so much to be happy about and her hubby, record industry executive Kendu Isaacs, forced her to go clean after a well documented battle with booze and hard drugs. I am just so glad she has found her knight in shining armour. I hope this means we don't get any more shitty music. The Breakthrough was a great album but Mary's music is of high standard when she's depressed and going through shit.

Letoya looked pretty in the video. Although it samples Brandy's Almost Doesn't Count, as much as I loved THAT track, I wasn't feeling this much. Some samples should be left well alone.
