R&B TIDBITS: JENNIFER HUDSON, ALICIA KEYS, MYA & T-BOZ FROM TLC....

Jennifer Hudson is going the distance with her acting career as she has landed a role in the forthcoming 'Sex In The City' movie. Filming starts next week in New York. Her role will consist of playing a character called "Louise", assistant to Sarah Jessica Parker’s "Carrie Bradshaw" in the film based on the hit HBO comedy series. Also, Jen has just completed another movie called Winged Creatures where she stars alongside a strong-headed cast such as Kate Beckinsale, Forrest Whitaker, Jackie Earle Haley and Dakota Fanning. Her first solo album will also drop in the first quarter of 2008. This is what I like to hear. American Idol success stories from the underdog. Mad props to her. Alicia Keys was on KBFB-FM 97.9 THE BEAT yesterday where she was asked questions about her VMA performance, her new album AND Britney Spears of course. Click here to listen to the interview. Ya'll know how folks like controversy and will try to get a celeb to knock another celeb but Alicia just wouldn't take the bait. And she says she doesn't do industry men because "they have access to everything". Interesting quote. Her video for No One has been completed and will premiere next week Monday (17th Sept). Her album As I Am will drop 13th Nov. What was funny is that during her performance, the audience stood up so she thought everybody was feeling her. But it turns out, everybody was standing up to break their neck over Kid Rock and Tommy Lee tugging at each other's throats, all over a pair of plastic tits. Hmmmmmm. You can view the fight over at Daily Motion. Not worth it. The fight was wack as hell. Mya has a remix out for her latest new single Ridin' which you can now download or listen to here. The remix is pretty tight and the beat is certainly different but I think the original version is better because it emphasises the lyrics more. As previously reported Mya's new album Liberation is set to drop 23rd October. This also means that Mya will go head to head with ANOTHER R&B starlet. Keke Wyatt will also be releasing her new album Ghetto Rose on 23rd October as well. Both of them will probably go triple plastic either way. In an exclusive interview at TLC's number 1 fan website cybertlcworld.net, Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins from super-selling TLC has revealed her plans to release a solo album next year. "I got like 17 songs in 3 weeks," she boasts, "I want to do about 30 songs and see which ones I like the most" after which she will decide who she wants to have featured on her songs. "Dallas has a song on my album," she explained when asked if she would ever work with Dallas Austin, despite noting that she will be keeping the producers working on her album a secret. She did however reveal some producers she will be interested in working with, including Timbaland, Polow Da Don and Pharrell Williams once again. Tracks recorded include some alternative Rock tracks she has already recorded and she plans on recording more songs in that direction, which is based heavily on her Nirvana influence. Her former TLC-bandmate Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas will also release her solo debut under Akon's Kon Live Distribution next year.
