Our R&B princess Ashanti did a really cute photoshoot for the new year edition of Jane magazine:

[SOURCE] [CLICK IMAGE FOR LARGER VIEW]

She looks so cutesy and pretty and usually, the hair wouldn't normally be to my liking but I actually think it works.

On 29th December 2006, Cassie was having a great time on Miami Beach, Florida as she looked really spectacular in a skimpy white bikini:

Cassie has a lot to be happy about as 2007 will see her bite into her first ever movie role. Will she be able to show us that she actually has talent in the acting sector? And if her acting is better than her singing, maybe this is something she should indulge in full time. On the same day, Cassie also attended a New Years Week Miami party which also took place on Miami Beach:

R&B crooner Robin Thicke was also at the event looking every inch like his father. Meanwhile, Jennifer Hudson performed yesterday evening at The Hammerstein Ballroom in New York:

Her wig looks like a peacock modelling on her head. So not a good look. However, 2006 was definitely Jennifer's year and big things lie in await for 2007. She will be really busy recording her debut album on J Records and I can't wait for that, simply because of her amazing rendition of And I'm Not Telling You which to this day will always send chills down my spine. Two diva's who will send chills down our spines next year consist of the following:

Big news. Whitney Houston wants to mentor Leona Lewis!!! [READ MORE] Leona's idol and Whitney's arch rival Mariah Carey was seen living up Aspen's party scene looking, not so glamorous, and she were also accompanied by her nephew:

What's with the shades? I guess this is Mariah's chill-out place during the Christmas holidays. It will be all over soon. The kids go back to school, work resumes back to normal, not just for the ordinary folk but for the celebrities. After everything is said and done, Mariah will be heading back to New York to start work on her new album with Swizz Beatz.

And speaking of someone who had to go back to New York was king of pop Superstar Michael Jackson, who attended the funeral of soul legend James Brown:

Wow. I can't believe it. It's been 5 days since he passed away. Seriously, this is so surreal, I didn't post the pictures of his wake because I just found it rather disturbing and so heartbreaking. You know MJ HAD to put a truce on his reclusive life away from the United States to see to the very man who inspired him, performance-wise throughout his WHOLE career, even as a little boy. Michael caused major uproar when he bent over the legend's open casket and kissed James Brown on the forehead. He needs to quit with that ridiculous wig though, and just rock the Negroid hair he was born with.

Stay tuned I'm out!

WEEKEND R&B GRIND!
As 2007 is two days away, I've decided that I'm going to put more concentration on writing music reviews, the way my old blog use to be. Oh, and I was being sarcastic when I referred to Fantasia as "drop dead gorgeous" but long-term Toya's World readers would already know that. LOLOLOLOL! I still can't get over that image out of my head. I am also thinking of setting up a Toya's World chat-room for 2007. A lot of blogs are now doing this and I actually like the idea. Anyway, let me get on my R&B grind.

R&B starlet Ciara graces the front cover of Vibe magazine but the picture has been airbrushed to the max. Since when has Ms Harris been a contender for the big ass award? Where did it come from? Did she eat herself an ass over the Christmas or maintained some kind of growth spurt? Oh wait, it was possibly put there at the click of a mouse and an imagery program:

Wow. They even provided her with some cyber implants. But she does look hot. In other Ciara news, you can now vote as to which single you want Ciara to release next by going to her official Myspace
right here and voting in the poll. The three choices are "That's Right", "Like a Boy" and "Can't Leave 'Em Alone". I want her to release Like A Boy because the song is mad hot to me and has the potential to be what Cassie's Me & U was to 2006. The beat is infectious and I know she'd come with yet another hot dance video.

Rihanna looked totally bootylicious when she performed at halftime of the Brut Sun Bowl, Oregon State vs Missouri match:

The guy she was provocatively dancing with had all his treats come early for the new year it seems. He really is putting some oomph into that position but who wouldn't with gorgeous sexy Rihanna? In other Rihanna news, there is even talk of an official first single from her as-yet untitled new album. The track is called "By Yo Side"
[SOURCE] and I'm even told the album will be a very dance-filled album with lots of club joints unlike her monster-hit album A Girl Like Me.

Aspen, Colorado seems to be the no1 destination for TWO world-class R&B diva's who happen to hate each others guts. Don't forget that Mariah Carey blasted Jennifer Lopez a couple of years ago for "stealing" a beat that was supposed to be hers and Mariah is still icy. The beat was actually used for Jennifer's smash hit I'm Real. Well, she certainly was being real judging by these newest pictures:
.

And she definitely made sure to show her bitter rival how it should really be done. Mariah, really, take a prime example from Jenny Lo Lo as to how you should look in the winter blues. Jenny looks magnificent! Jenny also covers the Spanish edition of People:

[SOURCE]

She looks okay, not her best shoot by a long shot but cool. On the Mariah front, she WILL be collaborating with dancehall pop artist Sean Paul for her new album to be released next year according to one of her fansites:

It seems that Sean Paul will be going in the studio after the New Year with Mariah Carey to record a song called "Swing it Home" or "Swing it on Home".

Please note we are not able to confirm the above information. It was sent to us from a source in Atlantic Records. We will of course keep you updated on any news regarding this - Maggie.

If this is true, I think it would be HOT. Anything that Sean Paul touches usually turns out hot - Break It Off (Rihanna and Sean Paul), Baby Boy (Beyonce and Sean Paul), Breathe (Blu Cantrell and Sean Paul), etc

American Idol 6 will be gracing our TV screens in two weeks time and Paris who made the top 5 in the finals is coming out with an album in March. I was over at
[MONICA MANICA] where it was reported that she has worked with Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins on the new album.

Ex-American Idol contestant Paris Bennett will release her debut album "Princess P" on March 2007 via independent label 306 Entertainment. The set will be preceded by the lead single "Dreamin". [SOURCE]

What a stuuupid name for an album title and she expects people to take her seriously as an artist? I did like her though at times she was really annoying. Hated her squeaky voice and over-the-top pigtails, hated her bad sense of style, hated everything but her singing. Everyone was saying she was the second coming of Fantasia.

R&B Crumbs:

Here are some R&B crumbs for you to think about.

1. Monica's next single will be Sideline Ho but is it all over for her new album The Makings of Me?
2. Why is Letoya Luckett taking so damn long to release her next single So Obvious? I always knew Capitol was a screw loose.
3. How will Omarion's new album 21 shape up after this Tuesday's release? Will he have the first R&B no1 of 2007? Will he have the first no 1 album of 2007 period?

So now that I'm done with the goss, let's press on with the music side of things.

R&B Musical Fabtacular

I think I have found my new crush for 2007. Ya'll know I am madly in love with Sterling Simms right? He is the new Def Jam artist that sings the hook on Jay-Z's hot track Dig-A-Hole and plus he is in my age group - he's 23 I'm told. Yay! Well, his single is dropping in the early quarter of 2007 and his debut album will soon follow. Well not only is he gorgeous but the boy can definitely sing. I have had some of his music for the past couple of weeks but here are two tracks of his to get you all buzzed:

I Know - Sterling Simms [DOWNLOAD]
Juice In My Cup - Sterling Simms [DOWNLOAD]
.
I heard his new single Jump Off yesterday and the track is fiyah. Once I have the mp3, I'll definetely put it up. [CLICK HERE TO LISTEN TO JUMP OFF BY STERLING]

Etienne sent me this new Kiley Dean track called Changes. The track is great. I'm definitely feeling it. It's a mid-tempo R&B track with a nice beat and electronic undertone.

But when is this chick dropping? Her album was supposed to be out MONTHS AGO, but things just don't seem to be happening for her. Again, this is a shame because she is one of those white artists with soul and raw talent. I hope next year she actually comes with something.

Changes - Kiley Dean [DOWNLOAD]

Last week, Cherish came out of hibernation to attend BET's 106 party and they will be coming out with a new single in the coming weeks (about time too). This track is a cute little song. It is a B-Side I-tunes track so check it out:

Ghetto Mentality - Cherish [DOWNLOAD]

I have five full Leona Lewis tracks from our X-Factor winner and Simon Cowell is now her manager and he is currently grooming her to become a big star in the United States and I don't think she will fail. Rumour has it that Clive Davis has offered her a 10 million recording contract but I don't know how true that is.

I DO know that he wanted to sign her to J Records so who knows? She is the British answer to Mariah Carey without a doubt. These tracks are unreleased songs Leona recorded in a bid for music stardom just before she entered the X-Factor.

Breath - Leona Lewis [DOWNLOAD
Loving You - Leona Lewis [DOWNLOAD]
Dance With You - Leona Lewis [DOWNLOAD]
Paradise - Leona Lewis [DOWNLOAD]
What You Do To Me [DOWNLOAD]

They are nice tracks especially What You Do To Me, even if they sound a little under done, I know when she releases her debut album later on in 2007, it is going to be a great album. Simon has already hooked her up with some of the best songwriters and producers in the biz and he says the songs will be world-class and original.

Keri Hilson first made her public debut on Diddy's new album Press Play on the song After Love and will be coming out with her own solo album next year. One of the tracks taken from the new album goes by the name Where Did He Go. It's refreshing and she has a nice voice. She is definitely one of those underground artists that should be noticed. Check out the track:

Where Did He Go - Keri Hilson [DOWNLOAD]

Last but certainly not least, these two Mario tracks are taken from his new album GO! The album that keeps getting pushed back simultaneously. Unfortunately, the album has been pushed back from 9th January to 4th April 2007. There will be guest appearances from my girl Alicia Keys as well as Nelly. Producers include Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis, Polow Da Don, Ne-yo and the
Neptunes.

Crying Out For Me - Mario [DOWNLOAD]
Who - Mario [DOWNLOAD]

Crying Out For Me sounds very Usher, like ala Burn part 2 but I love his vocals on this track. He has definitely stepped up vocally and that's what we like to see from our finer R&B artists. Who is absolutely fab. I'm loving this track to the fullest. Effortless is really shaping up to be a nice album. I am a bit annoyed that they pushed it back again though.
Stay tuned for more R&B crumbs!

FRIDAY'S R&B CRUMBS!!!
The new year is getting closer and closer and I cannot wait to write my first blog entry of 2007! Today is kind of slow for news but I do have the scanned pictures for Janet Jackson's 2007 calendar, so to the fella's, no matter what time of the year it is, these pictures will keep you hot under the collar all year round. Check them out:

.
With the exception of February, May, August and September I am not feeling this calendar shoot. OK, her body is soooo on point. Anyone can hate on Janet Jackson's body. For a 40-year-old she keeps it well. But in some of the pictures, her face looks weird. Can't really put my finger on it. I hate the afro shots. Some of the poses are strange but um, it's still Ms Jackson if ya nasty bitches! And speaking of nasty:

Here is a recent picture of the drop-dead gorgeous Fantasia Barrino (seen at PerezHilton.Com) performing and sweating like HELL. At first I couldn't believe my eyes and thought, this has GOT to be a photoshop job but hell no, it's legit! By the time the American Idol champ finished and taken off the nasty brown all-in-one (which is VERY unflattering to her body type), she must have evaporated enough sweat to fill up a pint size milk bottle. It shouldn't be a shock really because last month I posted pictures of Fantasia performing at her album release party and sweating like mad. This picture is MUCH worse, even worse than the Fergie picture when she had the urine patch around her crotch area. Down town must pong like a wet dog. Just LOOK at it. I can't even imagine how that outfit must have smelt but you must have some medical problems to sweat like this on stage especially when you're NOT notorious for breaking out into some Janet Jackson or Britney Spears. Fanny, go and see a doctor immediately!

LOL! It's pictures like this that give bloggers their field day and no one can even say it's hate, kind of like the Britney Spears crotch shots. You can't be mad at anyone but her and now Ruben of WorldofBritney.com (who owns the BIGGEST Britney fansite in the world is shutting down his blog because of it as well as the fact that he believes she is soooo over and even went on to attack Perez Hilton for posting the pictures).

Haha. YAHOO NEWS have been all over it today. Read all about it [HERE]. Again, you can't be mad at anyone but the celebrity.

Earlier on in the month Mariah was seen out in Beverley Hills with her cute little niece:

She IS in fact a cutie and the grade of her hair is black obviously but um, they couldn't fix up the little girls hair better than that? A bit of Carol's Daughter can go a long way. Ask Brad and Angelina.

Anyway, gorgeous R&B prince Chris Brown looked hot as he recently graces the set of US drama OC:

He's coming into his own as the nice little upcoming actor thus far but I hope it doesn't get in the way of his upcoming album or his music career period. Now let me be the first to ask: USHER WHO?

Stay tuned for more R&B crumbs and I'll try and answer as much as my emails later tonight or early tomorrow. Stay tuned ...

HIGHS & LOWS OF 2006
I just hope everybody had a brilliant Christmas. I know I did. The food was outstanding. The wine was nice and glitzy. My mom also received a Gucci bag (NOT fake but the real deal) and after I begged her if I could have it she finally succumbed to my pleas, so I'm very happy. And well, I just chilled at home with my family. I drank myself into a bit of a frenzy and then slept it off. That's what Christmas is all about, being with loved ones, cherishing the moment, and most importantly, thanking Christ and acknowledging the REAL meaning behind Christmas because you just don't know what the future brings, with the sudden death of Soul legend James Brown who died on Christmas day, you just don't know what life has in store for you. OK, so he was 73 and lived a long life but it's still tragic. May he rest in peace. That said, I'm back, a little earlier than scheduled because I wasn't going to start blogging until the new year but I haven't updated this bitch in like 5 days and I missed it.

After the goss, I took my time in conducting a Best and Worst list of 2006. I have been working on it for the past couple of days just thinking about who should be featured in my top and worse 2006 list. There were times where I would just consistently erase stuff because I kept changing my mind about certain choices. So now that this is over with, I am going to play a touch of catch-up just reporting what I didn't in the event of the Christmas holidays. But first I'm going to report on the more recent stuff and then from here on out, you can pretty much say that updates will resume back from now and the new year. Hurray! I know some of you were missing your R&B fix around these parts. LOL!

This week, my girl Mariah Carey hosted the Niche Media and Hendrix Vodka's Holiday Party at Hotel Jerome in Aspen:

She looks mad cute when she is fully clothed and it makes a stark change from a couple of days ago when Mariah brought out the weirdo-look when she was seen out in Aspen, Colorado for the second time. Apparently, Mariah has been over there on Christmas vacation. She did a spot of skiing and then stopped off at her mothers jewellery store:

I honestly think that Mariah may just have a small dose of eccentricity. Not huge dose like Michael Jackson but the woman has issues. I love her but she looks foolish. The spandex pants, the funky boots, the cardy over her head. I know its freezing but you can still look fashionably admirable in the winter.

Rihanna came home to Barbados for the Christmas holidays, to give those famous pins of hers a rest. We have been subjected to the wide-open-leg posture for the past couple of weeks now. It won't be before long that we are seeing them again. 2007 is going to be an even bigger year for the Bajan beauty:

At least her friends and family were absolutely thrilled to see her when she arrived at Barbados airport. I guess she'll be having a very sunny Christmas. And some folks have all the luck. Grrr.

In the event of the Christmas season, a White Carpet Christmas Celebration event had taken place and as to who was there ...

Michael Jackson's younger brother Randy attended with his daughter, Genevieve. Cute girl, but them Jacksons have some skroooong genes. As usual, layabout Blu Cantrell can just about be seen at every event possible. You can have an event advertising for a product to keep your southern region tidy and well kempt. Of course her ass would be there and this time it would be for all the right reasons. And now it's time to report on the more recent stuff starting with Ms Plastic face:

Celebrity Big Brother is going to kick major ass next year. In another weeks time, the show will kick off LIVE and I can't wait. Mainly because Lil Kim is going in. I guess she is the major star which would explain why channel 4 are going out of their way to give in to her ridiculous demands. She is reportedly having a BIG row with Celebrity Big Brother bosses after demanding HALF A MILLION POUNDS (£500,000) to appear on the show. She was originally offered £255,000 but channel 4 are considering paying her up to £400,000 (they must want her ass on the show really badly but I say eff Lil Kim and draft in Whitney Houston as originally planned). Apparently, her diva-like demands make Mariah's seem timid and harmless. She insists that she has FINAL APPROVAL of all footage of her which is virtually impossible considering that it's a 24-hour-hour-a-day live show. What a dumbass! But it doesn't stop there either. She wants a PERSONAL ASSISTANT with her in the house, plus her own hair and make-up stylist on standby (she must fear that we will see the full extent of her heinous ravished face when she awakes first thing in the morning). She also wants a FIRST CLASS round-trip travel for two from the US and first-class hotel accommodation as well as a HOLIDAY in London for two - two weeks, all expenses paid - at the end of the show. She is not even that big in the UK. I hardly doubt anyone over here cares to see her on TV over here. She is NOT Whitney Houston. I say let her go. The show will survive without her. Michael Jackson's brother Jermaine Jackson is also rumoured to be taking part but we won’t know for certain until next Wednesday when the show kicks off.

Oh My Gaaawdd! ITV2 are already advertising the new series of American Idol. The show doesn't debut until 16th January 2007 in the US and 19th January over here, but it's going to be craaazy good, and as long as we don't have mad ghetto bitches like Rhonetta Johnson, I'm down:

Can anyone actually believe this show put so much time and editing to ensue this fool got her own slot? OK, so white folks may have found her behaviour entertaining but she sure as hell was embarrassing the HELL out of black folks.

In other TV galore, I can't wait for the new series of Lost and 24. February is going to be TV-Spectacular! Then there's Big Brother, and right after American Idol finishes, it's audition time for another batch of the X-Factor. I've been trying to encourage my friend to audition. She has such a great voice and she's mad pretty. Simon would love her, but I guess she doesn't have the confidence and self-esteem to see it through. Oh well.

So that's another year gone - the year that saw Britney Spears shockingly flash her bits and caesarean scar to the whole world (a massive 2006 low point). It was the year that saw Beyonce get drunk as she entered a limo after partying with her fella Jay-Z and pals Chris Martin and Gwen Paltrow in London (a massive 2006 high point). So I'm going to take you through the highs and lows of 2006:

It was the year that saw Rihanna explode into an international superstar after releasing her album A Girl Like Me. It saw Christina Milian get dropped after her album So Amazin' failed to sell. It was widely reported that she shunned LA Reid's idea's to have a mixture of different producers and instead, opted to have the FULL input of her boyfriend Dre who produced the whole album, much to the dismay of LA when the album failed to sell. Unfortunately, this costed her her record deal. Janet Jackson were to follow in the EXACT same footsteps four months later by allowing her man JD to have most control over her new album 20 Years Old, and that failed to sell as well. The power of a woman mesmerized by good penis that it puts a cloud over her career judgements. Me & U was the hottest joint of 2006. The song was contagiously hot and had the type of ominous beat that makes you take notice wherever you are. The funniest part of 2006 for me would be the PETA incident when a PETA woman approached Beyonce about wearing real fur at Nobu. The cat caught its tongue. She looked really frightened and timid and she left mama Tina to curse out the woman instead whilst she just sat there and said nothing. LOL!

2006 saw Janet Jackson's comeback implode with failure. My favourite R&B album of 2006 would have to go to Tamia's Between Friends. As outstanding as it was, it failed to push units. For the life of me, I could never understand why such a talented artist can never sell or get due recognition. There is just no justice and Tamia, being one of my favourite artists, I really felt the agony. Another artist that I admire with all my heart is Shanice who also had a brilliant album earlier this year and just like Tamia, she decided to go independent but dropped harder than a brick.

My highs of 2006 would be Leona Lewis winning this years X-Factor because barriers were broken that night. The first black contestant to win a reality show in Britain, so that was definitely something to rejoice over but it's not just the colour of her skin. The chick is mad talented so regardless of race and colour, she definitely deserved to win without a considerate doubt. Other highlights for me this year was finishing my Sociology degree which was absolutely gratifying. The hard work has definitely paid off and my graduation ceremony takes place 7th February 2007. That is like a couple of weeks away. But I get the feeling that despite my studies coming to an end, 2007 is going to be much more hectic than 2006. I just see a lot of great things happening, and I am confident my novel will get published as well. I've had to put it on the backburner due to being so busy but I started writing again recently and it's really coming together.

A low point would be my old blog getting suspended. This was one of the most heartbreaking moments for me because I'd put so much hard work into it. Apparently, Atlantic records were on their grind after I posted an unofficial Cassie album. And I almost gave up blogging. I was so close to packing it all in. But I decided to start from scratch and I have regained back my visitors and popularity, though I can't post albums like I use to but I do my best to give everyone the lowdown on the R&B world with events and music reviews. I try to incorporate wit and humour into my entries instead of copy 'n' pasting other articles which is the easy route.

Well on the music front, I am going to take you all through my top 5 lists. Hell, everybody else has done one and I thought it would be really insightful to let you guys know what did it for me this year as we approach our last days of 2006.

My top 5 R&B albums:

1. Tamia: Between Friends - Tamia no doubt had the best R&B album of 2006. You can listen to it from beginning to end without skipping any tracks. The album was pure hotness to me. So she definitely snatched the winners award in this category but the competition was strife.

2. Robin Thicke: The Evolution of Robin Thicke - This guy had a very masterful album with good old-skool R&B music. A much more talented Justin Timberlake in my honest opinion. This guy rocks. Loved his debut and I love this joint as well. He should have made more of an impact on the charts, like my girl Tamia.

3. Monica : The Makings of Me - Monica took it back to The Boy Is Mine days with The Makings of Me. This would probably explain why I enjoyed Monica's new album so much because it was as vintage-Monica as we were going to get. And it shows Monica at her vocal best.

4. Justin Timberlake: FutureSex/LoveSounds - Justin's album was different. Very Princesque I must add but different. The retro, futuristic and minor R&B sounds definitely worked up a treat putting together a hot album (though I still prefer Justified). Actually, I was a little sceptical when I discovered there'd be no Neptune's production on this album but I think he successfully pulled it off.

5. Ciara: The Evolution - Ciara's new album is so damn hot you can fry an egg on it. It seems the Prince format was a big thing for this years R&B artists because Cici incorporated his sound into her first single Promise from the new album. In fact, it was reported that Prince loved the song so much that he was interested in collaborating with Cici to do a remix. Now THAT would have been mighty cool.

Below are the R&B albums that I thought were deserving of an honoury mention:

B'Day - Beyonce

Letoya - Letoya

Cassie - Cassie

Kelis - Kelis Was Here

The High Road - Jojo

As for the honourable mentions, though Beyonce's album was rushed and made in two weeks, there were a lot of hot joints on there, a lot of club bangers and the ballads were pretty stimulating with that pop crossover which could be heard in Irreplaceable. Upon hearing that song for the first time, I knew it was going to be a mainstream hit. Loved Deja Vu, hated Ring The Alarm. It was too incongruous. At times, she just seemed all over the place and whilst B'day is one of those albums you just don't take seriously, it was definitely one of those albums that had the fun factor. Kelis had an innovative album. Every song had a fresh sound. None of the beats were recycled. I think when you're lacking in vocals you have to do something to set you apart, to stand out, otherwise you'll just be seen as some boring mediocre singer. Too bad her album didn't do that great because it was one of the most creative albums this year. Cassie, Letoya and Jojo also put out some stunning car-groovy music that makes driving all the more worthwhile. With the next category, I had a really hard time compiling this list because truth and behold, there weren't really that much R&B albums that I considered to be all that atrocious, but you have to admit at least one or two releases were disappointing.

Worst 5 R&B albums of 2006:

1. Rihanna: A Girl Like Me. I am very happy that 2006 was a good year for Rihanna. Other than Sean Paul, we don't have much West Indian people to represent. Her vocals are pretty bad and the album was a no-go. Not enough club bangers to guise out the bad vocals. Too many slow joints to emphasise the fact that she can't really sing. The music was bland and maybe apart from Unfaithful, none of the tracks stood out. SOS was straight corny and annoying. Her debut Music of The Sun was much nicer. Hopefully, she puts out a better album next year.

2. Janet Jackson: 20 Y.O - I didn't hear any of the music that was indicative of the hot material she put out during her 20 year old career, which is what the album title suggests. Call On Me was NOT representative of the classic vintage-Janet we have all grown to love over the years. JD should NEVER have had total control of this album. I keep saying this and will always mean it. She should have left it to her long term collaborators Jam and Lewis. They know what work for her. JD does not, apparently. His work is fantastic with Mariah but he and Janet do not share the same chemistry.

3. Fergie: The Dutchess - I won't lie, when I first heard the album I thought it was pretty good, but then after hearing it a second and third time, I realised that the album wasn't so great after all. It is definitely a knock-off from Gwen Stefani's earlier stuff and it seems she hasn't found her niche yet.

4. Pharrell Williams: In My Mind - A lot of his beats are recycled. I couldn't help but notice a lot of the songs sounded like previous work that he did for other artists. His ass is just too derivative and repetitive for my tastes. Few of the songs had me grooving but the album was pretty boring. He should leave the solo stuff alone and concentrate on producing.

5. Jamelia: Walk With Me - Worst album EVER, and not just because she abandoned 90% of the R&B to do rock, pop and retro stuff but the album was just bad, and then being the motor mouth that she is, she had the sheer audacity to say Beyonce's album wasn't all that great. Even if it wasn't, it sure as hell was MUCH better than this mess.

Best R&B song of 2006:

1. Cassie: Me & U - This song screamed instant hit. With its ominous beat and raw energy, this track had all the right ingredients to be one of the biggest summer jams of 2006 and rightly so.

2. Omarion: Ice Box - This song is another hot one. Actually, one of the best Omarion tracks I have heard. It packs in a lot of punch and it’s groove-tastic but the beat is just contagious.

3. Beyonce: Deja Vu - At first some people were saying that the song was a Michael Jackson knock-off from his Off The Wall days but even so, the song is mad hot and definitely has that old-skool feel which would explain why I love this track. The production was on point.

4. Ciara: Promise - It has that Prince vibe with sultry vocals which gives it that nice sound. It’s smooth and sexy and so unlike anything that Ciara has put out in the past which makes the song extra special. It exudes sexiness to the fullest.

5. Justin Timberlake: My Love - Some people would argue that the only reason why the song is hot is because of T.I's part but the song could have easily carried itself WITHOUT T.I. It would have been hot regardless. Honorable mentions: Promiscuous by Nelly Furtado, Bossy by Kelis and Torn by Letoya.

Worst 5 R&B songs of 2006:

1. Janet Jackson: Call On Me - The song was boring and lacked fire. Not the type of song you listen to whilst taking a bath or driving. You'll probably drift off to the in-depth pits of hell, and then whose ass would you be able to call on then?

2. Beyonce: Ring The Alarm - It may have had that aggressiveness strike which you could put up with Kelis's Caught Out There (I hate You So Much Right Now) but the song was mad annoying with the sirens, and the bridge didn't match the song. It sounded like part of a ballad fused in with an angry and aggressive track and it just sounded odd. Not to mention that the lyrics were mad lame.

3. Christina Milian: Say I - Rumour had it that Christina ditched Rihanna's SOS to put out this corniness but I don't even know which track is cornier. It samples Fiddy's Love It or Hate It, and even then I didn't like the beat to that either.

4. Justin Timberlake: SexyBack - This was definitely some retro garbage and I was beginning to disregard Timbaland as a decent producer (this is the guy who did the damn thang with Aaliyah and Ginuwine and Ginuwine recently called Timbaland a sell-out) but then I listened to the rest of the album, and was like, this is some good stuff!

5. Rihanna: SOS - Not an R&B song but then neither was Justin's SexyBack. Definetely one of the corniest tracks of 2006 but since it was a monster hit for her, my only worry is that they may stick with the same corny formula for the new album which is expected to be released next year.

Best R&B Video

1. Ciara: Promise - The video definitely DID show a lot of promise when she took her dancing to that next level of sexiness combing Janet's Pleasure Principle and Aaliyah's Are You That Somebody together to unleash a masterful but brilliant dance video.

2. Lyfe Jennings: S.E.X - The song had a meaningful message behind it so it was nice that the video had an inspirational concept behind it. Young girls who are virgins should pay attention to the lyrics especially if you're infatuated with a boy who may not even care about you but just want to have sex so he can dump you and then move onto somebody else.

3. Amerie: Take Control - Didn't quite get the concept but the video was colourful and hot to me and she looked gorgeous. I cannot wait for her new album to drop some time next year.

4. Kelis: Blindfold Me - Kelis is a nasty freak. Just by looking at this video you know that her sex life with rapper husband Nas is filthy but hot. I can only imagine what they get up to in the bedroom department, too x-rated for words even.

5. Rihanna: Unfaithful - Good video. Very conceptual. Though she sings: "I don't want to be a murrrdddeeerrreerrr" she really did murder this track which had much potential but the video was a good video so it more than makes up for it.

Worst R&B Video

1. Beyonce: Deja Vu - It was just bad, Jay-Z was ignoring her and their chemistry was just zilch. He looked so uncomfortable. The dancing was too erratic and it made her look like a mad woman. The costumes were disastrous. The shots were changing way too quickly that it made your head go into a spin. I actually know the person who started the petition against it which received worldwide exposure. That person was also contacted by the BBC for an interview.

2. Danity Kane: Ride 4 U - The video of all snoozefest video's. Cheap and low budget. No chemistry with the hunks at the end, and the camera time for each member wasn't equal. Some got more screen time than others. Diddy's group is already on its way to doomsdom.

3. Fergie: London's Bridge - The video just lacked major appeal and wasn't all that interesting as catchy as the song was which was a big disappointment. The song was cool though.

4. Gwen Stefani: Wind It Up - The song is dumb but fun at first. I hate the yodelling. We are all fans of The Sound of Music. At least I am, but this sample should never have been attempted. I went from liking the song to absolutely hating it and the video didn't interest me at all.

5. Cassie: Me & U - Loved the song but the video was a letdown. The chick can't really dance (or sing but we been over that a gazillion times). She is not a fluent mover by any means. Watching her dance was like watching Robocop being controlled. She was very robotic and stiff. Had she moved with ease, the video had the potential to be a hot dance video like Ciara's Promise who executed the microphone scene incredibly. Cassie didn't know what to do with hers. Some would say it's a downgrade version of Janet's Pleasure Principle, not the actual dancing but the setting. I don't really see it though. To me, Cassie was doing Cassie.

Best HipHop/R&B couple:

1. Beyonce & Jay-Z

I didn't like them as a couple at first. When I first heard about them dating four years ago, I was like yuck! What does she see in our real-life Joe Camel? But now I see they are good together and their love is legit with each releasing songs paying ode to the fact that they belong together such as their duets Bonnie and Clyde and Crazy In Love. Beyonce is even starting to open up about her relationship which was something she use to avoid altogether.

2. Ashanti & Nelly

These two are soooo cute together but I often wonder why Ashanti is so reluctant to talk about her relationship or have it on display. I remember when Nelly did that duet with Tim McGraw called Over and Over and there was a picture on the table in the video. Originally, it was Ashanti's picture but all of a sudden it was replaced with Ciara's. I take it Ashanti wasn't happy about their relationship being segmented into the video which I thought were strange because it's only a pic and it's not like to say we haven't seen these two up and personal at events and stuff. Now I am reading reports that they're engaged so if this is true congrats to them.

3. Janet & JD

Never thought they were best suited. JD looks like a troll. But he is such a good man who has stood by Janet throughout her trials and tribulations (the Superbowl incident, the commercial failure of her latest album 20 Years Old). He has done so much for her so though he may not be some oil painting, men like that are a dime a dozen and she should be trying to hang on to him as long as possible.

4. Kelis & Nas

And here's an R&B/Hip Hop couple who finally made it to the alter. Everytime you see them together they seem so infatuated and mesmerised with one another and that is how a couple in love should look. They're not afraid to show off their love to the world and I think the Carmen Bryan tell-all book (Nas's baby mama) will not cause a single dent in their marriage. It will only cause their marriage to be more strongly cemented.

5. Christina Milian & Dre

I think they look good together. They hooked up earlier this year after Dre produced her whole album So Amazin which tanked unfortunately but such failure didn't put their relationship in jeopardy. They still remain stronger than anything, and I just hope he treats her much better than that cornball Nick Cannon who is an idiot for letting such a beautiful girl go.

My top 5 TV drama's of 2006:

1. Prison Break

At first I was mainly into the show because of the highly attractive Wentworth Miller, but as the show has progressed and become an instant hit with TV ratings, the tense plotlines had me hooked. I think this has got to be one of the best prison drama's in the last 10 years. OK, so yes, the plotlines are in fact farfetched but sometimes you just have to push the boat out a little in order to achieve that entertainment value.

2. Lost

So the good ole doctor, Sawyer and Kate are still in reprimand by "The Others" and it was just gripping stuff. I was at the edge of my sofa, wondering if Sawyer has met the end of his days but yet the direction that the show has taken lately asks us if there is ever a glimmer of hope for the plane crash survivors.

3. 24

Jack Bauer loves to play the hero and always defies orders to suit his own agenda's. If it weren't for the fantastic plotlines I'd have bowled out from watching this a long time ago. A lot of my favourite characters are gone, Tony in particular. I was so sad to see him go but I cannot wait to see season 6 watching Jack foil the attempts of a terrorists plight to bring terror, corrupt and fear into a country at war with terrorism.

4. Supernatural

Mmmmm, more Jenson Ackles please. If we had more pretty white boys like this on our screens we'd all be suffering from large doses of diabetes. I love the show and being the superstitious person that I am I can so connect with its storylines. For example I always sleep with a tape measure on my door and I always avoid sleeping on my back. I never open up an umbrella inside the house and I try my best not to break mirrors. But seeing Jenson in action with his younger brother tackle evil and spiritual forces and all things connected to the supernatural world is really insightful.

5. Entourage

You may think I'm a right saddo for watching this, especially a show which is sponsored by Britney's fragrance Fantasy. But the show is pretty good, though I bet it doesn't half accurately portray the reality of Hollywood movie stars, but since when has these kind of drama’s portrayed reality in an accurate sequence? I just find myself enjoying this the more I tune in moreso to see who will be the guest star of the show each week.

My top 5 Reality shows:

1. The X-Factor

Sparks definitely flew during this series. Some fine, productive talent was seen throughout like Dionne, Robert, Nikitta and the show's winner Leona. I don't think reality show winners should be blackballed just because they got a record deal through performing on a live talent contest. I think they've had to work just as hard as those who had to send in a demo to a record company, except their hard work was seen under the scrutiny of the public eye, which must have been so much harder.

2. American Idol

Pretty much the same as what I said about the X-Factor, except in this case I was NOT happy with the winner OR the runner-up for that matter. Taylor Hicks looks weird and Katherine McPhee, whilst she has the looks she certainly wasn’t the most talented.

3. ANTM

Seeing a bunch of bitchy whiny skinny girls compete for a modelling contract makes for brilliant TV. My sister loves this show to the rotten core right a long with me. More please. More more more.

4. Making The Band

Again, another talent contest which saw the making of Danity Kane who will soon become Danity Who? by the time Diddy has aired them out to dry just to cater to his own interests. And now that they’re auditioning for Making The Band 4, I feel sorry for the poor souls who come under his control, or lack of. LOL!

5. Big Brother

Sex. Tit-for-tat games. Bitching. Fighting. Swearing. You can all find the trash on a show like the super trashy Big Brother. I try to avoid these shows because I know for the remaining three-month duration of the show, it would just take over my life. I would find myself just rushing home from wherever I was just to catch it and the first person I will see the next day I will ask them: "Did you watch Big Brother last night?" but seeing people from all walks of life lumped into a house together is really compelling which is great because as its not scripted and the drama that unfolds within the house is spontaneously improvised, we don't have to worry about any nuisance spoilers! BB8 rock on!

Honourable mention:
I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here!

Well that's my update. A massive one I know but I guess I was making up for lost time. I'll hook you all up with some new music as soon as it arrives. Stay tuned for more R&B crumbs.

WEEKEND CRUMBS
I hope everybody is enjoying their Christmas holidays. I know I am. Updates will be really slow as we approach our last days of 2006 but music has been interesting this year. Later on, as far as music is concerned, I will tell you my highs and lows of 2006. It should be a good entry actually. Well, here is your latest R&B scoop:

Ciara decided to opt for the very unflattering beehive meets Marge Simpson hairstyle when she did a photo shoot for the current edition of Jewell magazine (mad shout out to Tia for the scans):

This is not a very flattering photo shoot by any means. However, Ciara has been on top of her game lately and she certainly came mighty hard with her new album Ciara: The Evolution, which got the no1 spot on billboard. It has definitely been my work out CD as of late. This week, she was also seen at a games tournament:

She sure is hugging the life out of that dog, possibly telling herself that at least it doesn't smell of ass like Bow Wow.

Anyway, we all know it's freezing outside and most of us do everything we can to keep our bits covered but through the sleet and the snow Mariah had to punish her tata's by exposing them to the punishing icy temperatures:

Now you know her nipples must've turned as hard and solid as frozen peas. Next thing you know, she'll be doing winter warmer ads for bra's with built-in central heating. Actually, that would be kind of cool. And who'd have thought a troll like Jermaine Dupri could produce something as gorgeous as this?:

His daughter Shaniah Cymone Mauldin has ventured out into modelling and is going to be the face of those new Applebottom ads (above). She is gorgeous. The mother must be a looker because she sure as hell don't take after him.

How cool is it when your birthday is so near to Christmas?

This week, Christina Aguilera had a party to celebrate her 26th birthday. Her touring pal Justin Timberlake attended the "SNL" - After-Party with steady girlfriend Cameron Diaz:
.

They call Cameron Diaz a Hollywood beauty but that is the joke of the century. The woman is butt ugly to me with skin as rough as a crocodile's backside. She is going to age really badly. If she looks like this when she's out in public I'd hate to see how she looks first thing in the morning. She is NOT beautiful. They don't call her "pizza-face Diaz" for no reason. And I always thought Justin was cute during his Cry Me A River days but since dating Cameron, he was starting to look rough too, even refusing to shave his face. So it was refreshing to see that he decided to buy himself some Gillette. The homeless I-got-3-weeks-worth-of-cornflakes-stuck-in-my-moustache look was such a big no-no.

STOMP THE YARD TRAILER
OK, mad apologies for no FULL update today. As christmas is three days away I have been mad busy lately, meaning, I haven't had much time to go on-line or anything but there will be a FULL update early tomorrow. Until then, check out the trailer for Stomp The Yard. R&B cutie Chris Brown has a small part in the movie (unfortunately, he dies :( ) so check him out:

Interesting. I will definetely see this when it comes out over here. Woooo! Brian J White fine ass is in the movie. Anyway, many of you have emailed me and moaned about the comment section not being up, so it's back up and this time for GOOD. Ya'll can hate on me all you like. I have learnt to turn my nose up at the bullshit. Stay tuned.

THURSDAY'S CRUMBS ...
After doing an Osama Bin Laden by shacking up in their underground cave and depriving themselves from all traces of the outside world, new coming R&B group Cherish FINALLY step out into the limelight and did a performance at the 106 & Park Party:

Now isn't this a surprise? They released a second video MONTHS ago and just seemed so out of touch with the R&B world but it's good to see that they're still alive and kicking and still continue to do their thing. They had a nice album even though it didn't sell buckets. That sucks I guess, but the music industry works in funny ways. When the Cheetah Girls can do extremely well but the extremely talented Tamia can put out a flawless album and still not receive a high calibre of recognition, you know this world has gone downhill. Well, Cherish weren't the only ones who attended the party:

Omarion also performed. Later, he was seen out with Chris Brown and Bow Wow at Bow Wow's "The Price of Fame" Album Release Party hosted by Bow Wow and The Distinguished G... with Sister II Sister writer Jamie Foster-Brown who looked like she had just stepped out of a zombie's coffin.

It was announced that Brown is the sister of Chris's mom which makes Jamie his auntie (OK, I keed I keed) But black folks I tell ya. It's Christmas and you're supposed to be looking your mighty best, but no, some folks just don't care.

Bow Wow seems to be hanging out with Chris B quite a lot lately. I guess he feels that his promotion won't really serve much without the companionship of R&B's number one heart throb. I don't even know why Chris stays hanging out with that little ignorant assed brat. I'll never get that. Chris is such a gentle-man and politely mannered and I don't think he'd ever pimp out his past relationship with another R&B starlet like what Bow Wow tried to do with Ciara, which to me was foul because if you felt you were confident enough to sell records without some type of gimmick, you wouldn't feel the need to go there in the first place. What an asshole. Bow Wow is not even that cute. I know the Bow Wow groupies will come after me for that comment but hey, that's just how I feel.

Beyonce and her man Jay-Z attended the Nets v.s Cavaliers game.... Beyonce's weave is just so top heavy and overly dramatic. She really needs to tone it down otherwise Diana Ross will be crying herself a river for having the Big Hair crown snatched away, and well, we all know Beyonce's career has certainly been patterned after the former Supremes diva.

These pictures certainly do make a surprising turn considering that when these two attend the games, Beyonce has the facial expression of pure and sheer in-depth boredom, as if she were watching paint on the walls dry. Jay-Z would be so into the games with this serious look of concentration whilst Beyonce has the look as if she were wishing she could be somewhere else, possibly at her mama's salon having new tracks put in, playing good little auntie to nephew Daniel or, well, hanging out with her "blood" sister Kelly (yes you read right! Until a DNA test says different, I will always believe Matthew Knowles is Kelly's biological father).

WHY LEONA WILL BE BIG IN THE STATES
This week, Simon Cowell wrote a newspaper feature as to why X-Factor winner Leona Lewis will be a big hit in the United States. And here is her official video for A Moment Like This:

Simons writes:

"Leona can be an enormous star in America and I'm going to make sure of it. She has got everything it takes to become a big success there and I know I can help her to crack it. In Britain we don't get as excited about successful female singers as they do over there. But in the US they have a rich history of hugely successful women artists from the likes of Aretha Franklin and Whitney Houston to Mariah Carey and Christina Aguilera. And America loves a rags-to-riches story - which is what Leona will have. Her tale is similar to American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson. Kelly was working as a cocktail waitress and entered the competition as a last-ditch attempt to crack the record industry. Leona's story isn't too different from that. She's a quiet, unassuming girl from Hackney (North London) who has tried almost everything to break into the industry and who viewed X-Factor as her last chance before giving up. And she has broken so many barriers in Britain by winning this contest. She’s quiet, female and of mixed race which is unusual compared to previous reality talent competition winners.
Above all, what Americans seem to love is genuine talent and that's what Leona has in bundles. She will also have an advantage over other winners of these kinds of shows in that I can help open doors for her - in the US - like I did for Il Divo - and I'm confident Americans will fall in love with her.

With Il Divo I was able to tell the people who mattered that I'd discovered some of the best voices in the world - and the album went on to be a No 1 hit. There is already a huge buzz about Leona over there and Clive Davis, who discovered Whitney Houston, is already teaming up with me to help. Clive is the shrewdest man in the business and drives a hard bargain but the moment he watched tapes of Leona singing he rang me and said he wanted to work with her. He told me she's like a cross between Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. And he wasn't bothered whether she won the show or not - he wanted to sign her anyway. He thinks that with the two of us behind her she can't fail. More than one million Americans have watched footage of Leona on YouTube and I'm taking her to Los Angeles to perform showcases in front of the business's biggest writers and execs. I want her to make an album that is a real statement with some brilliant songs on it. There's no need for us to rush anything, and Leona has firm ideas about the kinds of songs she wants to write and perform. She's a very talented musician, she doesn't conform to a stereotype and she knows her own mind. And I think it can only make her more endearing to the American public that she doesn't realise quite how talented she really is"

JANET JACKSON'S HARPER BAZAAR SCANS ...
This week, I posted Janet Jackson on the Sinagpore/Malaysian issue of Harper's Bazaar magazine, and here are the HQ scans. When you click on the thumbnails, you can actually read the interview:

I find it ironic that Janet talks about Victoria Beckham's anorexic stick thin frame when Janet herself is well known for having issues with her weight. Would that include bingeing on food to look nearly as small as Posh? How someone can lose a stone in one month beats me but she must have at least starved herself to lose the weight so dramatically for the release of her new album 20 Years Old. Hell, she looked like a massive whale, so big even, she could have applied to be a bouncer at Prive night club. That's kind of like Monique mocking Ruben Studdard over his weight or Naomi Campbell calling Lindsay Lohan a ho. Anyway, I'll do a full update later. Stay tuned.

WEDNESDAY'S R&B GOODIES
I really need to label all of my posts. Hopefully, it should be done over the weekend. It's just a new feature that's been added recently which will come in handy when I need to search a single category pertaining to a certain artist. Anyway let me get on my R&B grind. On Monday night, Christina Milian and her boyfriend Dre were spotted at the Miami Heat game in Florida:

I am really warming up to these two as a couple. They are soooo cute together and Christina seems totally besotted with her man. At least they're not afraid to touch each other in public unlike Jay-Z who seems to look distant and uncomfortable whenever Beyonce publicly tries to show him some affection. Maybe he doesn't want to tarnish his Bad Boy rapper reputation. Hell, he's too old to be even thinking about maintaining such a reputation anyway. But as I were saying, Christina looks gorgeous and youthful. She's 25 but the chick can pass for 17. Easily. Christina was spotted in the studio a couple of weeks ago with her fella Dre. It's likely he's working with her on the new album which she is working on. She also has like three movies in the making, so she'll be doing her thang in the new year! And as we're on the topic of Beyonce, yesterday, she showed she was the queen of the wardrobe as she made a various number of appearances:

Beyonce made an appearance on Good Morning America show.

I absolutely love the leopard-print dress and she looks really svelt in black.

After TRL, Beyonce attended The Late Show.

Again we are back to MTV's TRL where she changed off into an unappealing turquoise number. and cutie Chris Brown was also there to cherish the moment (above). I already posted the pictures when he appeared on 106 with Bow Wow, but here are some bigger pictures [HERE] Bow Wow and Chris were also at TRL:

I guess they were promoting Bow Wow's latest new album and were there to perform their track Girl Like Mine. At the end of this entry, you can also watch the alternative video for Beyonce's current single Listen, which was scrapped because it didn't meet expectations. Too bad they didn't figure this out with that appalling Deja Vu video.

These are some of the scenes that left me absolutely bamboozled. You can read more on my take of the video at the end of this entry.

LeToya Luckett celebrated the 3rd Anniversary of her boutique, Lady Elle, with four huge parties in Houston this past weekend and her actress pal Keisha Knight Pulliam (The Cosby Show's Ruby) attended the event and helped her to celebrate:

The anniversary proceeds went to the MD Anderson Cancer Center for breast cancer research and treatment so I'm really glad the proceeds went to a really great cause.

I am noticing that her mama has Letoya's original nose. I wonder how mama Luckett felt deep down when her daughter eradicated her features. Needing to add, she was much prettier with the more ethnic realistic black nose. I know if I looked like my mama and I messed with my looks with surgery, my mama would be offended but then, I am proud of my black traits so it's whatever. And it looks like her nose isn't the only thing she had done but something looks odd with her cheekbones. The chick use to be so pretty and was once up there with her ex-bandmate Beyonce Knowles in the looks department but she just looks strange to me for some reason. I liked her outfit though. Cute ensemble.

However, Rihanna brought season greetings and cheer when she visited patients at St. Vincent's Hospital in Manhattan yesterday:

She looks cute. I sooo love her cut. It's sassy and sophisticated! Stick with your real hair more often Rihanna. It rocks! I am still getting emails in regards to Rihanna's ethnicity. So I just wanted to clear it up. She is mixed race. Her mother is black and from Guyana I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) and her father is a white man from the Islands (Bajan). So I hope this answers your questions. Anyway, check out Ms Tatiana looking the bees knees:

Now here's a sight I've been anticipating. Former R&B songstress Tatiana Ali looks magnificent. The 27-year-old beauty attended The Pursuit of Happyness premiere starring Will Smith, the man she co-starred with in The Fresh Prince of Belair when she played the lovely Ashley Banks.

Meanwhile, Danity Kane were spotted at Ink in Miami, Florida:

I have been listening to their album all day yesterday and you all know already how hot I think the record is. I have not heard a hot joint by a female R&B group since Destiny's Child's The Writings On The Wall. If they were getting better promo, their sales would have hit the roof by now.

And here is the alternative Beyonce video for Listen which was supposed to have been the original:

She looked nice when she was singing in the black & white background. And in this version, I liked how more emphasis on the movie was incorporated especially between her and Jamie Foxx's character because it matched the song. The video was good up until the end part. The shots that didn't have anything to do with the movie I was like huh? I didn't get the still shots towards the end and the black and white filtering was also unnecessary. The Egyptian-like scene was a big no-no as was the still shots with the Octopus hairstyle. But I think this video actually had major potential save for a few mishaps. However, the finalised cut is in fact filmed and edited to a better standard and was rightfully chosen.

TUESDAY'S R&B GOODIES
You know when my blog entries get shorter and shorter then it has to be one of those slow days when there is nothing interesting to report on or no interesting celebrity pictures to pick apart and have fun with. I guess now that Christmas is under a week away, not much has been happening as of late. I do my Christmas shopping this week, it's going to be madness! The Christmas rush is no joke. The traffic was absolutely atrocious yesterday afternoon. I didn't think I was going to get home after my session at the gym. All good toys at Toys R Us are out of stock. I am thinking, it's best to buy Christmas presents for the kids 6 months in advance but then nobody is thinking about a cold Christmas when they could be enjoying the sizzling hot sun. Hell, I've already started buying my summer stuff, call me mad. But once summer ends, I always prep myself for when it comes round again. Amazingly, it was pretty warm last night. Well, let me press on with the goss.

Christina Milian attended her boyfriend Dre's birthday party this week at Social Snacks, 510cean in Miami Beach and looked absolutely amazing.

Cute!

I wish I could be jobless and look so hot. Unfortunately for us, we got to work our asses off. I know I have to work to look this good. But then she's smart because she stays getting the nigga's with the dough (the money that is). Aint no way you will see Christina with a penniless man on her arm. He has to have status baby! And who can blame her? I certainly don't. These pictures are the FIRST official public pictures since it was reported that they had split up but these pictures say otherwise. They look very much in love to me. And did I say how her dress is PURE hotness? I would rock the hell out of that any day.

Chris Brown and
Bow Wow hit up 106. Chris looked cute. By the way, I am not in love with Chris Brown and NEVER in a million years would I put myself with a teenager. He is like my sisters age group. I do have a small soft spot for him so that's why I wanted him to turn 18 so I wouldn't feel guilty.

I didn't want anyone thinking I am some sort of cradle snatcher (lol!) Never that. And since we're on the topic of Bow Wow, as promised, here are the HQ pictures of his ex, Ciara's shoot in XXL courtesy of [ULTIMATE CIARA]. I still don't have the Mya, Amerie and Letoya Luckett pictures yet but as soon as they arrive, I will put them up.

[SOURCE]

This was a really nice shoot. One of her better ones I think. Love the hair and everythang. I think she looks best when she's not all dolled up in a girlish sort of way, because deep down I know that look isn't Ciara. More R&B magazine features sees the gorgeous Rihanna cover french magazine Chocolate:

[SOURCE]

And Janet Jackson covers
Harper Baazar:

Janet usually knocks 'em dead with the photoshoots but this one just looks odd to me. Something is just not right with it. I can't put my finger on it. But the face certainly isn't matching the body. And the only shoot that she did that overwhelmed me this year was the Vanity Fair shoot. Then again, I don't think she should do any more scantily-clad shoots showing off her body or trying to compete with the 20-year-olds. You don't see Halle Berry or Angela Bassett doing those shoots. What she needs to do is marry her troll, get knocked up and call it a day (it's not too late. My mama had her last child at 39 and my mama is 46 now). Bow out whilst you still got that ounce of dignity. Same applies with MJ.

Usher attended Nas's album pre-release party for Hip Hop is Dead:

Usher and his little brother James.

They look alike, though James is better looking. Still, its nice to see Usher and his little bro out and about.

Meanwhile, Kelis has been signed up by Ford to launch their campaign entitled "On the Edge". The chick is raking it. I say go get that money girl! She even has a track called "Push It to The Edge" which will also feature in the campaign. The ad campaign, created by the Uniworld Group-Detroit, will kick off at Kelis' Dec. 18 celebrity holiday party at New York's Capitale nightclub and include radio, TV, and print advertising. Ford will give partygoers a glimpse of the campaign. [SOURCE] Interesting. I don't feel like cutting 'n' pasting large proportions of the article or explaining it in detail so you can read the full scoop [HERE]. How she managed this gig I do not know. Her CD isn't selling AT ALL. Actually that's an understatement. It is a bonafide flop! But I'm not going to knock a sista. I will just say congratulation because it could easily have went to somebody else much more mainstream and successful. And speaking of Kelis, she was there to help husband Nas celebrate his "HIP HOP IS DEAD" album with a host of some of the biggest names in Hip Hop and R&B. Nas's baby mama Carmen Bryan should've gatecrashed the party. That would've been a CLASSIC, what with Beyonce and Kelis being there, and her revelations in her tell-all book that they are BOTH "unclean" and that Beyonce ONCE wanted to date Nas. I'd have loved to have been a fly on the wall for that one. Check out the latest action:

Cute celebration. Everyone looked great but I still hate that blonde bumbling mess Kelis has on her head. Nas is handsome I must add. Kelis is very lucky. Stay tuned for more R&B crumbs. I’m ouuuttt!

MONDAY'S "YESSSSSS!!!!!!!!!" R&B FABNESS!
I feel happy, exhilarated, on top of the world. Leona winning the X-factor on Saturday just did it for me. Her rendition of A Moment Like This was spectacular. Anyone would think I were related to the girl the way I was screaming with joy at the TV, but you know, my reaction was all down to the fact that a breakthrough was achieved that night. Kind of like Halle Berry winning an Oscar because it's well registered over here that black folks don't win reality shows in the UK. And here, we have a pretty mixed raced black girl from London's Hackney who has been fighting half her life to get into showbiz without prevail. Then she finally gives black folks hope that future ethnic minorities can win instead of having to settle for second and third against their white counterparts (Andy Abraham, Lemar, etc). And I'm not saying a black person will win a reality show tomorrow or next week but Leona's victory has most certainly opened doors for coloured folks. And speaking of a reality talent show contender who once competed with the song A Moment Like This, check the oddest of oddball images right here:

Justin Gaurini has a new image which is enough to make anyone say WTF?!? Dude is straight up looking like nerdy Jim Carey but fret not, I am told this weirdo look is for a new movie role so his curly hair has been hidden under the guise of a dodgy wig. He looks mad cute in the middle picture which is his current look after ditching the fro he once sported during his American Idol days. I say thank goodness!

The 2006 Z100 Jingle Ball saw a host of R&B celebrities perform over the weekend. You saw the pictures I posted of Rihanna looking lush as she performed as well as her backstage pictures. Well, here is more from the latest action:

Ciara, Nicole Scherzinger (and the other Pussy Cat Dolls), Brooke Hogan and Nelly Furtado all made their presence felt at the event as did:

Rihanna, Chris Brown and Jojo. Brooke even brought her wrestler father Hulk Hogan along for the ride.

But the usually immaculate Nicole Scherzinger from the Pussy Cat Dolls was looking like she appeared from a drag queen contest with the dodgy fringe and hair and disastrous make-up. I don't know what is going on with her face but she use to be so pretty. Not so much in these pics. An image best preserved for someone like Rupaul but even then, Rupaul mostly has his ish together. And if I see her wearing that annoying black all-in-one at another performance (she has rocked it at every UK venue during their UK tour), I think I am just going to gauge my eyes out.

And when Ciara performed and her weave defied gravity, we got a snap of that hairline or lack of. What the HELL is going on with her edges? Soon, she'll be giving Brandy a run for the receding hairline award. And speaking of Awards...

It's nice to know that since Jennifer Hudson has been given rave reviews and a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actress, she is FINALLY getting some posters (thanks Fabizzle).

Niiiice. And you would have to admit, since she really is the star of the movie then most would agree that these posters were long overdue. But I still don't see her getting any mainstream covers or at least not as much as Beyonce who is in the latest issue of In Style. I posted some preview shots last week and here are the rest of the scans in bigger and better quality:

[CLICK ON IMAGE FOR BIGGER VIEW]

Just jaw-dropping gawjus! Still, despite everything, it's easy to see why she's a favourite amongst these mainstream magazines. Now Leona is also onto a winner as of late.

Leona and her friends and family must be nursing a hang-over after Saturday night's victorious spectacle. I know she's been drinking lots of champagne just thinking about that 1 million recording contact and how she's going to spend spend spend! Leona has done it people! Leona has won the X-Factor and made history. Not only is she the FIRST black woman/person to win the X-factor but she is the first female to win the X-Factor period, as well as the first black contestant to win a reality show in the United Kingdom really showing the true spirits of a kingdom that really has united. Leona's first single A Moment Like This has already sold over a staggering 1 million in pre-orders. Her single was available for download on Saturday and it is the fastest download in history with her single receiving over 20,000 downloads in just 5 minutes. Her first single is a Kelly Clarkson cover. Kelly is another reality show contestant who was the first winner of American Idol, for those who aren't familiar with the US version. Leona is a dead-cert to have the Christmas no1 when her single gets released on Wednesday morning which I downloaded but will also buy just out of support (I already have Kelly Clarkson's version because I bought Kelly's first album).

Leona was on GMTV this morning and she said she is going to America to do some songs. Simon says that he received a phone call involving J Records wanting to sign her up (don't go there Leona, we know Jennifer Hudson has signed up with them recently and another American Idol contestant who actually won - Ruben Studdard - is also with J Records and whilst their calibre of artists look good, truth be told, the only artist Clive goes all out for is Alicia Keys). Clive Davies rang Simon to say that he is eager to work with Leona and that she is definitely a cross between Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston and he is definitely interested in working with her. Simon says that he has received dozens of phone calls from America about Leona and that she is destined to become an international superstar. They will also be taking their time with the album and Simon has drafted in some of the best writers and producers. He says he has been sent in some amazing songs for Leona's album that are world-class and destined to be international hits. I can't wait for the album and think she should take her time with it, and I am glad at Leona saying the material on her album will be original and not have cheesy covers like last years winner Shayne Ward. Leona will also be co-writing her album. She will also be going to New York to negotiate something with J Records boss Clive Davis, although she is expected to sign up with SonyBMG. I downloaded Shayne's album last year and it was a very nice album with lots of R&B covers but it would've been refreshing to have lots of freshly written and produced music as well which is what Leona intends on giving us.

But yes, of course I am ecstatic. I have been rooting for this girl from the beginning of time posting her performances each week on my blog. We don't have singers like Leona. In the US, there's Beyonce, Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston and Celine Dion, but who do we have? Nobody. At least not on that calibre anyway. So, you can check out her performance of the winners single in the next blog entry below showing exactly why she was rightfully crowned the X-Factor winner of 2006.

PART TWO: WHO SANG IT BETTER?
I've un-disabled the comments section for this post because I really want to read your opinions on this. The last time I had a post like this, it was comparing American Idol winner Fantasia Barrino's performance of Summertime with Leona's version. And now I am comparing her performance to ANOTHER American Idol winner - Kelly Clarkson. This time, the song is A Moment Like This, which is the winners single (for both) so decide! Who owns the song? Kelly Clarkson or Leona Lewis?

A Moment Like This - Leona Lewis

A Moment Like This - Kelly Clarkson

WEEKEND R&B FABNESS!
I have a sneak peek of the Usher feature in XXL's edition of Hip Hop and Soul magazine which is out now, and I like the pictures especially the multiple-tasking one showing he's a man always on a mission:

He still looks fruitylicious no matter how hard he tries to throw off that image. I have yet to read the interview but I presume he'll be talking more about his new album and as stated on the cover we get some info about his ambitions to build his label as well as the aftermath of his last album Confessions going diamond. So you know he'll be under a lot of pressure to repeat that same success and NOBODY has sold a million in their first week since then. This week, he hosted the Grand Opening Luncheon and you know momager wasn't too far away to help him pop the corks. [CLICK HERE FOR THE FULL SCOOP AND PICS]. We are also seeing him a lot lately so he may come sooner than we think. R&B queens Amerie, Ciara and Mya also have features in this issue so once I have the pictures in HQ, I will most definitely put them up. Meanwhile, girl-of-the-moment Rihanna graces the front cover of Woofin' Girl and looks absolutely amazing!

[SOURCE]

The girl is everywhere! She stays doing her thang. Nice one. Rihanna also performed at the 2006 Z100 Jingle Ball. So here is the beautiful leggy hot-pants wearing singer in all her shining glory:

She has ruled 2006 and she knows it!

And yet, she was looking totally gorgeous backstage at the event. Rihanna should rock her REAL hair more often. She looks absolutely stunning without all of that heavy weave. It just makes a refreshing change. I love her cut! It suits her.

Now you know I love Christina Milian right? Even on her worst day, chick still looks a million dollars and more. Hell, she can wear a bin bag and still carry off that look to perfection where heads turn in admiration. So even though I weren't feeling the pants, they actually looked good on HER when she attended the Hollywood Covered Winter Carnivale, hosted By Niki Shadrow in Hollywood, CA on Thursday night.

Apart from that though, she looked great!!! Go Christina! Mary J Blige didn't do a Beyonce when she performed on The Today show.

She made sure she wrapped up warm during her performance of Ride. Winter sucks. You tend to spend more in the winter to keep warm. My car engine keeps stopping due to the freeze so before I make my journey to wherever, I find myself running up fuel just to heat up this bitch engine on a non-busy road. Once that is done it's okay. I have to do this because this cannot happen whilst I'm driving on a 40mph road. Then you have to put on your central heating in EVERY room and that costs money too, so you can more or less say winter is the most expensive time of the year.

Fergie attended the PEOPLE Magazine's GRAMMY Kick-Off Party in Vegas at Jet Nightclub at Mirage and was joined by Jamie Foxx amongst others. Well, she didn't just attend, but she performed as well with her band member Black Eyed Peas Will.I.am.

Jojo celebrated her sweet 16.

But the big excitement is tonight's X-Factor final! Who will win? Will it be Ray Quinn? Or will it be the fantastic Leona Lewis whom I've supported from day one? Stay tuned to see if Leona Lewis has made British history by being the FIRST black person to win a British reality TV show. Please vote for her UK folks. Vote vote vote!!! The show starts in half an hour. Stay tuned.

TASTY FRIDAY R&B FABNESS!
My girl Alicia Keys is soooo going to kick ass in her latest movie role for Smokin' Aces. Some more movie stills were released this week and you know that once new pictures resurface I am going to post them. I've already posted some Alicia pictures from the movie some 2/3 weeks ago.

In the movie she plays an assassin. R&B queens REALLY are doing the damn thang in Hollywood. Beyonce has starred in a couple of Hollywood blockbusters including the current Oscar-buzz movie Dreamgirls. Alicia Keys has a starring role in Smokin' Aces. Ashanti is in the next instalment of Resident Evil, and Mariah Carey is also doing a movie which was turned down by Janet Jackson I'm told. And speaking of Dreamgirls, Jennifer Hudson attended the New York screening of the movie last night as well as made a stop at 106:

I have to say a BIG congratulations to Jennifer. I just received an email from Booskee who tells me that the Hudster has just received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Isn't this like phenomenal type of cool? I still don't want her to win a Grammy though it will kill off her acting career. Ya'll know the deal with Halle Berry after she won that Oscar for Monsters Bollocks? She is the living example of the Oscar curse. But in a way she only has herself to blame taking on the role of Catwoman (which stank and also bombed) all because it was a leading role. Always remember that QUALITY is more important than QUANTITY which will get you your accolades in the end. Jennifer Hudson is living proof of this. So what's been happening this week? For starters, Will Smith and his family attended 106 and The David Letterman show:

One of the cutest black families in Hollywood. Putting aside Hollywood, Fantasia did 106 yesterday and looked a right mess.

Maybe Kelis got her hair inspiration from Fanny. Short cut dyed blonde? Am I missing something here? Whyyy? Chick just isn't cute and the blonde, the actual style like some kind of grown-out mohican doesn't work for her at all. It only adds more to the lack of appeal.

A host of celebrities attended the 2006 Guggenheim Museum's Young Collectors Council Artist's Ball sponsored by Giorgio Armani:

Jada Pinkett-Smith, Mary J Blige and her hubby, and Ciara were all there. Meanwhile, Garcelle Beauvias attened the premiere of Rocky Balboa. I decided to put her in with Ciara because the red dresses are gorgeous. However, being the tomboy that Ciara is, she looked really uncomfortable in hers. Just look at her facial expression. The shape of her body just doesn't accentuate the dress which is a shame because the dress is just gorgeous. Ciara just seems to have major issues embracing her femininity and her song Like A Boy would explain why.

And where the HELL is Monica? I didn't see her album The Makings of Me in the top 100. Didn't she release her album back in October, weeks before Beyonce? I know Beyonce is a panther and Monica is a kitten as far as worldwide fame is concerned (and I DO love both of them artistically and have all their albums) but truth and behold, Monica's album is MUCH better than Beyonce's and the chick just doesn't seem to sell as talented as she is. And don't even get me started on my girl Tamia. You just don't understand how upset I am. She had the best R&B album of 2006 and flopped haaarrrd. This leads me onto something else. I'm kind of depressed at Maxwell's new album getting blackballed again, because a while back I posted on this blog that his trilogy album for Black Summer Night will be released in February 2007 and now that's not the case anymore so yeah I'm pissed. Well, these were taken some time ago but they are new to me and I'm sure most folks haven't seen them so I'm posting the promo pictures which are supposed to have come from the trilogy album:

This look is cool I guess, but his record label needs to stop playing. Honestly, they put sooooo much effort into all the artists with the least talent and the ones that do have talent are the ones who are thrown aside all because they are not exciting enough.

Kelly Rowland graces Essence alongside Patti Labelle, Vanessa Williams, Nancy Wilson and Wendy Raquel Robinson. Kelly looks absolutely amazing! Another one who looked hot was Janet Jackson for her 2007 calendar:

Hot!

Remember when I posted Zoe Kravitz on the front cover of French fashion magazine Jalouse? Well, a bigger version has popped up with more pictures. Check them out:

She is a very pretty girl, and Lenny Kravitz dotes on her. I just can't get over how much she looks like her mama Lisa Bonet during her stint with The Cosby Show. A show that did take place was Christina Aguilera when she performed in Switzerland this week:

She's been doing her thing lately and marriage life really has brought out the best in her. No more trailer trash Christina and in comes the classy and elegant. This is the Christina we like. Britney, take note. Anyway, here is her spread for the latest issue of Glamour magazine:

She looks great. Love the make-up and the hair and I thought Beyonce's photoshop job for her latest House of Dereon shoot was nicely done.

I posted these already but compare anyway *lol* Beyonce does Parade magazine. Am I seeing correctly? Does she actually talk about her man in this issue?

She says: "It's wonderful to understand and want the same things, but the friendship is most important. You know someone loves you by the way he treats you and respects you. You know it by how you both feel when you're together."

Mary J Blige has come to the sudden defence of Britney Spears regarding her partying ways. She says: "I know that at some point in our lives we've had a situation like Britney's, meaning that we all were with someone we thought loved us and actually didn't. We make mistakes. I am looking at Britney as a human being just like myself. I messed up big time in my life.

"I love Britney and I send out all of my prayers and all great energy to her because she's young and she is going through it. She is going to get through. She is going to come out on the other side real nice I think."
[SOURCE]

That was kind of sweet. Who'd have ever thought Mary J would come to the defence of Britney Spears? Remember when Britney did the lesbian kiss with Madonna back at the 2003 VMA's? The camera panned to Mary J Blige who had a look of disgust on her face and then it panned over to Justin Timberlake who looked rather uncomfortable. I would NEVER forget that, haha! Yes, the girl was obviously hurting and was partying hard to get over her woes and troubles. SHE married for love. Kevin Federline married her for money. Gosh, that must hurt but the dude was penniless, what did she expect? When your kids suffer as a result and you neglect them for your own purely and selfish reasons, you really need to prioritise. If it had been any of us ordinary folk behaving like this, we'd have the police force ready to put on the handcuffs, we'd have had the child services scraping our kids away. When you're a high profile A-List celebrity you can get away with murder LITERALLY. Ask OJ. That said, I'm glad she has decided to ditch Paris Hilton and curb out the partying. Her people have really given her a good talking to and it seems she's taking heed to their words. I hope this means no more panty-less nights on the town. We really don't want to see any more explicit details of her modesty. At least I don't. Those boys need their mother around them and I feel her comeback will be explosive once she sorts herself out. Still, it was nice seeing her going back into the studio this week. C'mon Britney, get it together. We know you can do it!

Stay tuned for more R&B crumbs, and let's hope the next Christmas party Beyonce and her crazy alter-ego attends doesn't include any Popeyes. You know chick is mad for it. I'm out before my ass gets ripped a new one. Ciao!

TASTY THURSDAY R&B FABNESS!
What it do folks? Anyway, another day, another spectacular day of R&B fabness so enjoy the update because as we're nearing Christmas, around that time I may stop updating and you won't see me until the New Year and even then, my life will be hectic. My graduation is in February, I'll be moving to a new place so I don't know what the deal will be with my Internet connection *lol*, I'll be working my ass off, you name it but I always find time to update because I love it. So let's get onto it. Christina Milian attended the Pimps & Hos grand opening. You know Christina loves her Pimps as a few weeks ago I posted pictures where she was shopping at their boutique. Christina has also sold a few designer clothing items out of her closet on Ebay. The money made from that went towards presents for children and teens with sickel cell and she basically wanted to thank everybody for purchasing. In September, she was invited by her friend Maria Menunos to make a trip to the Children's Hospital in Los Angeles and she was really inspired to help out with the foundation. So this Christmas her donations AND the money made from Ebay went towards the "Sickel Cell Disease Christmas Toy Run" brought together by BJ (Mother Love) and Rare Breed MC. She writes: "If any of you would like to make a donation or send gifts (the ages range from newborn to 33-years-old) then please contact Mother Love at (323) 588-1951 for further information". Only serious inquiries please. BJ (Mother Love) spends most of her time helping families in need who are dealing with the disease. She is also affected by Sickle Cell and is working from her bed. So please be respectful".

I live next door to a woman with sickel cell and it's not nice at all. I would often see the ambulance people walk by and cart her off in a wheel chair. She'll be shaking and crying out in pain and it's just not nice so if you can afford it, please donate.

Christina just can't do no wrong in my eyes. Work it girl!

Kelis attended Trace Magazine's 10-year Anniversary Celebration and her rapper husband Nas was right by her side.

Cassie was cheesing alongside Russell Simmons at the Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundations Party.

Nelly Furtado did TRL as did:

Omarion and Nas. OK, Nas isn't usually my type. I use to date the hood boys like Fantasia but now I like them sweet and pretty. However, you gotta admit, Nas is looking kinda scrumptious here!

Beyonce is definitely our woman of the moment. Appearing in EVERY mainstream and urban magazine as of late, Beyonce has the front page coverage and features of two popular magazines. The first one is In Style:

Very pretty. Dark hair accentuates her features the best. These pictures are lovely and elegant and it shows her having some personality. My fear is that the actual interview will take away from the bubbly persona which is displayed in these pictures. You know when you read a Beyonce interview and think, wow that was just dull or wow, she really shouldn't have said that. It's a case of witnessing Beyonce showing she has the brains that emphasises just as much intelligence as a cabbage. Good job she's beautiful with some singing talent then. Even if she doesn't know how to make an interview exciting or articulate herself well (something her younger sister Solange is surprisingly rather good at), just keep coming with the hot music Beyonce and I'm square. Someone should ask her if Jay-Z's manhood really is the size of a coca cola bottle. I know I would. Straight out. Well, here is her spread for Blenda:

Again, these are lovely. Photogenic gorgeous heffa. You gotta love her AND hate her at the same time. Now let me get on Will Smith. I've been in love with this father and son duo for quite some time now. I hope these two make more movies together and if not, Jaden has cemented himself with a future acting career. You know he is the popular kid at school now and the envy of his siblings. Never mind Trey. You had your moment in Just The Two of Us. I do wish they'd cut off those twists because they make him look like a sissy. Like, if you were to stick your tongue out at him he'd shed some tears. An extremely vulnerable sissy. Not saying he is but just that the hair makes him look like one. He is a doll but gorgeous. So, here's a picture taken from Entertainment Weekly:

Fun times. I posted the cover this week and again, they appear on yet another magazine cover. This time, it's Ebony:

Like father, like son. This is sheer inspiration I'm telling you. And it's great that he is keeping his enterprise in the family and allowing his power to expand throughout that family because a lot of black families really don't get that opportunity. So its nice when you come into some power. I wonder if he's turned his back on music. It's been quite a while now. Well, if so, never mind, we got more goodies as far as music is concerned. Here is a some new shoot that Ciara did recently:

She looks fab! But these ones are hotter:

And here are more promo pictures from Ciara's new album Ciara: The Evolution. There are loads more but I just couldn't be bothered to put them up unfortunately so I just decided to post my favourite ones. But you can check out [CIARA WORLD], [SIMPLY CIARA] or [ULTIMATE CIARA] to see the rest. She looks sexy. These pictures are enough to make you ask, what was Bow Wow thinking when he decided to let this girl go? Judging by her Promise video, it sure is hard to believe this girl can't impress a man with her sexiness.

And at last, Ciara addressed the Aaliyah comparisons, but yet STILL refuses to credit Aaliyah because it's clear to see that she blatantly jacks Aaliyah. If anything I see more Aaliyah than Janet in Ciara, the image, the baggy clothes, the moves - all Aaliyah. Erin Carlson of The Associated Press wrote an article about it. He writes: Ciara wants to set something straight. The hit-making dynamo -- known for her hot moves and sexy tomboy style is flattered by all those comparisons to Janet Jackson and the late Aaliyah, but she's not a copycat. She's doing her own thing. "I do feel like we're all different," she told The Associated Press in a recent interview. "You know, it's funny, because people will say, 'She's trying to be like her,' but I'm saying to myself, like, 'I'm trying to do me."'
[SOURCE] Yeah, when she came out with the crunk-fused Goodies she had her own identity but with this album, not so much. I posted her TRL performance last week and it was like looking at Aaliyah's ghost. Chick definitely studied the choreography to Are You That Somebody and then got Tina Landon (Janet's old choreographer) to put her own spin on things but it still looked obvious. The difference is, Aaliyah didn't do so much pop-locking. The Evolution is very fitting for an album title as she has completely evolved into Aaliyah but just won't acknowledge it. I like Ciara and I enjoyed both of her albums but I call it how I see it. If you're inspired by somebody, it doesn't hurt to give a little credit is all I'm saying. Beyonce is obviously inspired by Tina Turner judging by her performances but at least she gives credit. Okay, let me get onto those sales:

These figures are courtesy of Hits Daily and Cici did the damn thang. Her ass is no 1 on the album Billboard chart!!! I wouldn't be surprised if she goes gold in the second week. This sum is TWICE more the amount she sold with her debut Goodies which went on to sell 3 million in the US. Gwen Stefani's numbers are really disappointing for Gwen Stefani. The Dream Girls soundtrack is no surprise. We know that soundtracks don't really sell that big but Beyonce's B'Day is on the rise yet again selling an extremely impressive 102,793 at 15% whilst beating her fella Jay-Z to a pulp. Jay-Z's album Kingdom Come only sold 96,072 copies this week and Beyonce is at a higher chart position after 10 weeks of release. B'Day a flop? Hell. I don't think so. Upgrade U and Green Light are reportedly going to be the next two singles from the B'Day album. Upgrade U is absolutely hot and is definitely single worthy. Yup. Another Beyonce and Jay-Z video. Let's just hope this one is better than that appalling Deja Vu vid and plus, she can scrap video director Sophie Muller for starters.

It will most certainly be a busy year for Ms Ashanti Douglas as she gears herself for big things in the 07. This week she had a chat with BET and spoke more on the new album: "I've been working on a little bit of everything. The album is coming - it's called Incredible. Other than that, I'm in the new film "Resident Evil," coming out in spring of 2007. [I have] a book coming the middle of next year and a line of bags. I'm brewing up a little bit of everything". [SOURCE] Good for her. I love Resident Evil, the first movie and the sequel both had me gripped. This is one movie I can't wait to see. So she had better not screw up my movie. As for the book, did anyone read her first poetry book? OH.MY.GOD. I stood up in HMV and read it. And with disbelief, I laughed sooooo loud. One of those laughs of disbelief that leave you choking until your eyes start to water. I just started coughing violently and the person who was standing like a few yards had to ask if I were okay. They probably thought I was mad but it was on some elementary level of writing. As if a 12-year-old wrote it. There was a line in there about some boy wanting to put his hand up her skirt. I am thinking, if this is talented poetry, I will just strip down to my undies, do a lap dance in the street, hump the lamp-post and get myself arrested. I will most definitely refrain from reading this book in public just in case I embarrass myself again. I write poetry, and I'm good at it. And as for the new album, hated her last one, loved the one before that and despised the first. It didn't help that she was crowned Princess of R&B & Hip Hop weeks after Aaliyah's death and at a time when her debut hadn't even been released yet. But she was still being given prestigious titles when she hadn't achieved jack. Still, I understand it was forced by Irv Gotti but she didn't do anything to throw him off which straight out annoyed me because there were no consideration taken that Aaliyah fans (like myself) were still in mourning. But since she's a nice girl who put out nice beats in the past I look forwards to the new music. Rain On Me will always be my jam.

Besides the X-Factor, I hardly talk about TV on here and after Saturday night, there will be no more X-Factor talk since the show is coming to an end, but you can now apply to audition for The X-Factor 2007. Also American Idol is coming back in the next couple of weeks as is Making The Band 4. I'll get onto that in a sec. Yes, I'm a reality show addict!!! But I wanted to talk about the suspense drama Lost (right now the UK is only in episode four of the third season), and they have killed off Mr Ecko after he was manhandled by um, a mysterious black cloud. I watched it with my sister on Cable and was like dayum, they're killing everybody off. By the time the season finishes, you will just wound up taking some anti-depressants. It's annoying because you'll warm up to a certain character and then something happens to them or sometimes you're left mystified by their flashback scenes, or sometimes you ask yourself, how does this flashback connect with the Island dialogue? And we've seen the mysterious black cloud in previous seasons, but why is it NOW deciding to cause real destruction? And then we have the hatchet spy. Just when you think this show is taking a fall, a plot occurs that gets you buzzed all over again kind of like a heart monitor - up down, up down, brrrrmmmm!

Whilst American Idol 6 will be hitting our screens in the near future, you can now download Katherine McPhee's new single I Lost You/Dangerously courtesy of [STARS ARE BLIND]. Above is her self-titled album cover which is set to be released 30th January 2007.

Click on above image to download the new single. It's true, her sound is definitely R&B-influenced and surprisingly enough I dig the music so check it out!

Making The Band 4, haha. This is a joke. Diddy doesn't know how to promote his acts out of a paper bag. Look at how he is doing poor Danity Kane. And this season, his ass is now looking for the next male vocal group who can vocally give Usher and Justin Timberlake a run for their money. Anyone who turns up to the auditions are naive if you think you will get a good deal of promotion should you successfully make it into the band. You will NOT get promoted. You will be given a VERY tight budget. You will get crap video's and you will have to wait a time span of 60 years before you get another video, so those males who decide to audition, you have been WARNED!!! Anyway, yes, I know I can rant for England but that's me. There were so much more I wanted to say but I'll save that for another day. Stay tuned for more R&B crumbs.

FANTASIA PERFORMANCES
Well, as we all know. Fantasia released her self-titled album Fantasia this week on Tuesday and this week sees her doing a string of performances to promote the album. I hope she sells well because the album is wonderful and her ballads are soooo on point. Having said that, Hood Boy is one of the worst songs on the album by comparison alone. Anyway, check out her performances this week.

WEDNESDAY R&B GOODIES ...
What is it with Britney Spears and those ghetto white boys? She really does have a type doesn't she? Well at least she's picked one with talent, money and ambition. So even if she's moving a little too fast, I say it's a MASSIVE upgrade from the Fed-Ex. Anyway, more on Samantha Mumba. Fabizzle has informed me that Sam is making a musical comeback on her third studio album, or technically, her second, because whilst her debut Gotta Tell You did extremely well, her sophomore Woman got shelved. I'm told that she has signed a deal with Universal and has been working on her comeback album, according to her myspace and wikipedia. Samantha has also stated in many Irish newspapers and magazines that she is working on her third studio album and hopes to have it finished by Christmas. She says the first single will be released in February, 2007 followed by the album in March. She is recording most of the album in Los Angeles, California, United States. Thanks for the scoop Fabizzle. I guess being in the United States will mean she gets to spend more time with a certain rapper. I also wanted to thank Cheekyboi for sending me that Leona Lewis performance. He came back from seeing our soon-to-be X-Factor winner at Hackney Empire. Leona has been on a mini tour of her own this week in a bid to gain votes so that she can win the finals of Saturday night's X-Factor. I hope she wins. There will be no justice in this world if she doesn't. Anyway, here's been what's going down in R&B celebville:

McDonald's hosted the "load it, gift it, love it . . . now wear it" fashion experience runway show in New York City and Kelis worked the runway like a true pro. Two artists who have CD's released this week were Mary J Blige and Tyrese who stopped by at TRL:

And here's another new House of Dereon shoot:

Beyonce looks fab! In other Beyonce news, she says she is in no rush to get married. Jay-Z will be 40 in three years so if they want children, they better get a move on.

Usher was seen out in Beverley Hills this week, stopping off at the body shop, to buy some perfume for himself.

TUESDAY R&B GOODNESS!!!
Huh? Can someone actually confirm this? According to Janet-Xone, Janet Jackson's latest release "20 Y.O." is up for a Grammy Award. So if this is true, you know Beyonce's B'Day will be up there too. And well, you all know what Matthew Knowles is like when he wants his daughter to have something. Give him a burger and he'll toss it up in your face, and tell your ass to go get him some mean steak instead. He'll probably bribe the Grammy Board Directors. "Let Beyonce win and she will treat you all to a private lap dance". Hell, he isn't called Pimp Daddy Knowles for no reason you know. Everything Matthew does always comes at the expense of his daughter and in a lot of circumstances she has to pay tremendously (example: the huge barrage of hate she received due to the Letoya/Latavia situation). Beware. Matthew Knowles is plotting a boycott right now as we speak.

Anyway surprise! No more Mel B updates, since all last week I've been all over it but I had to because I know a lot of pregnant women who cruelly got dumped by their partners (my mama being one of them, with me) which is just straight up disgusting, unless she was treating the man like dirt which certainly wasn't the case with the Mel B and Eddie Murphy situation. ALL dogs need to be called out so being a feminist and a degree holder of the sociological perspective, of course I am going to bring the situation to light. I just cannot stand that man right now. Well anyway, let's get to the goss. We may have a new couple in town:

Rapper the Game is in love with Irish pop beauty Samantha Mumba. Well, okay that's pushing it. Romantically, he thought she was a groupie when they first met at Dublin's Olympia Theatre last Tuesday. The news of their pairing was brought to light by MTV UK's Tim Kash who met up with the Game last week and uncovered his love for the Irish hottie. The Game admitted to bringing a "beautiful girl" back from Ireland, and said he would "make her my girlfriend." Kash asked who the girl was, The Game wouldn't say. Kash asked if he could say, The Game said "maybe." Kash said "Samba Mumba?" The Game said "Beautiful girl. I love what she does and her accent, it just kills me. She's crazy, crazy beautiful." He even approached Samantha's younger brother 17-year-old Omero to put in a good word for him. The signs were good though, as Sam didn't originally intend on going to his gig but she DID turn up leaving The Game "star struck" when he saw her! "I was like 'Yo! That's Samantha Mumba, man.' he says "I walked 20 steps in front of her and I was like 'Damn! I just bombed that,' you know. So next time I had seen it, I kinda fixed it."

OK, so they're not officially dating YET ... but he is smitten. Wasn't his ass smitten with R&B beauty Mya? So much that he ogled her King pictures and had her make a cameo in his Dreams video? And they DID briefly date by the way, he admitted to it and I even addressed it some weeks ago. Hmm ... Anyway I thought Samantha was dating Charles Porter, and besides, Sam has nasty taste in men. She's beautiful but yet she settles for DL men like Sisqo and that unattractive Jagged Edge twin Brandon. But the Game, whilst he isn't ugly (or gorgeous for that matter) he shole is a step-up from those two I must admit. He is hardcore and rugged and to me that's sexy. Wind it forward. Gwen Stefani was seen out and about once again in that weird hairdo:

Christina Aguilera performs Hurt on Wetten Dass show in Germany. Word has it that she's "hurt" at receiving just two Grammy nods. I loved her album Back II Basics though. It was artistically creative, I didn't like some of the throwback 20's and 30's stuff and the two-disc set seemed a bit much but B2B was in fact a great album. I thought it was bordering on genius and she's an artist I can easily respect because she takes risks. She doesn't do what she thinks will be popular. She likes to celebrate the era of real music, by endorsing it so props to her. I hope she wins at least one Grammy though because she's truly deserving of it.

Rihanna was at the Nobel Peace Prize Press Conference & Concert which took place on Sunday. Her light make-up looks great. She is such a beautiful girl and anyone who says different is straight hating. She's even grown into that 5-head of hers. The people of Star Trek would be proud I'm sure. Though, her edges are a bit rough on the sides it's nothing a bit of hair grease and a chi iron can't sort out. Well, Rihanna's idol was doing everything she could to keep hers covered:

As Beyonce Knowles leaves a South Beach restaurant in Miami, she really does have us fooled with that disguise, if you can call it that. Peepo, we see yoooouuu! And yet, we are bombarded with more Beyonce as another Dreamgirls premiere took place in Beverly Hills yesterday:

Jamie Foxx brought along his daughter Corrine, and I'm absolutely loving Beyonce's dress. Michelle hasn't looked this good since Survivor days. And Jennifer Hudson should know that satin isn't a girls best friend if you're on the large side. Just wrong on so many levels. Still, Eddie Murphy continues to parade new woman Tracy Edmonds at every premiere he attends.

Courtesy of Beyonceworld.Net, here are the scans to her Dreamgirls feature in the Vanity Fair spread:

She looks good but always remember that once you've seen ONE Beyonce shoot, you've seen them all. Same poses, same blandness. Nothing about them screams out at you. And as for that Eddie Murphy pose, how ya doin? Now let's talk Britney Spears:

The question on everybody's lips is, WHO IS BRITNEY'S NEW MAN? She was spotted canoodling with him in public and they even shared a long juicy tongue sarney. There is even a video on-line where the two are getting rather intimate.

It's none other than Jonathan J.R Rotem, the multi-platinum music producer, the man behind Rihanna's monster hit "S.O.S", "Dr. Advocate" by The Game and "Push it" by Rick Ross.

Cassie was spotted at Mokai club in Miami recently.

Will Smith and his son Jaden grace the latest edition of Entertainment Weekly. Cuuute.

Lenny Kravitz's little girl Zoe shows she's an old rock n roll soul in a young girls body as she graces the cover of Jalouse magazine. She may grow up to be like daddy after all.

Fresh from Crunk & Disorderly posted some gorgeous pictures of Ciara taken from Dub magazine. Chris Brown also has the other cover. He attended the Dub car show a couple of weeks ago and courtesy of Fresh, here are the pictures:

Niiiice.

Another Ciara picture that I'm loving right now is this one, which is a promo pic taken from her new album Ciara: The Evolution. By tomorrow, we will know exactly how much she sold in her first week. Stay tuned for more R&B crumbs.

MONDAY'S R&B CRUMBS ...

I'll keep it sweet and short today. There are new revelations to the Eddie Murphy and Mel B split. Now the dude is saying he dumped her because it was HER who cheated. Apparently Eddie hired some private detectives to follow Mel around because he had his suspicians. Then it emerged that she had dinner with another man that Eddie knew but Mel B swears it was all innocent and that she hadn't cheated. [SOURCE] And even IF she did, he is still a bigger bitch than one who actually has a vagina because ANY real man would just confront her, not ditch her behind her back and pick up another woman. Anyway, check out today's latest R&B crumbs:

.
Pussy Cat Doll Nicole Scherzinger does Complex magazine and looks fab!

.
Rihanna and John Legend did their rehearsals for The Nobel Peace Prize Concert 2006.
.

Over the weekend, Tyrese had an album release party for his new joint Alter Ego (released 12th December 2006). The party took place at Sunset Gower Studios in Los Angeles and a host of celebs helped him to celebrate the release. Ray-J turned up as did Tamyra Mowry and Angie Stone. But the person who turned heads that night was Kelis who sported a newly dyed blonde hairdo. OK. We know Kelis is her own person and likes to do the crazy with her own style and accessories but I am not feeling this new hairdo at all. It takes away from her looks and makes her look mad tired.

When Raven Symone celebrated her 21st birthday and lay eyes on her massive chocolate cake, she was certainly in heavenly bliss, and being extra bootylicious, we know Raven enjoyed all her food that night.
.

Nike presented an All-Star Twenty Fifth Anniversary Celebration and Ciara was there, though not really feeling whatever it is she was wearing. Other than that, she looked cute.
.

Chris Brown is sooooo damn fine it aint even funny. The boy was looking extra scrummy when he performed at TNT's "Christmas in Washington 2006" ceremony.
.
.
Britney Spears shows off her new dark locks which she had once sported just before giving birth to second son Jaden.
.
.
Jennifer Hudson attended the Hollywood Life's Breakthrough of the Year Awards. Now that homegirl has slimmed down to a size 12, you'd have at least thought her stylist would have dressed her up better than this though.

Leona will be singing for that 1 million recording contract in next weeks LAST performance on The X-Factor. It took a shocking twist last night as everybody thought she'd be battling it out with Ben Mills. Instead, HE was voted out of the competition and now she'll be compaeting against Ray Quinn. Once again, she amazed everybody with her rendition of Over The Rainbow and Whitney Houston's I Have Nothing. Check it out!

MEL B TO TAKE DOGGIE MURPHY TO THE CLEANERS

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned and in Mel B's case, after getting over the shellshock of finding out that she got dumped this week and that Eddie Murphy is demanding a DNA test for her unborn baby, Mel has decided to teach him a lesson by hitting him where it hurts most - his wallet! Mel is now in L.A and reportedly, she has hired a top Hollywood lawyer to take cheating Eddie to the cleaners and who can blame her? I certainly don't. She has been treated like dog shit, it's no wonder her sadness has turned to fury. She is most definitely determined to take every penny she can get from the Beverly Hills Cop star. Now a lot of people would say that this is the ONLY reason why she got pregnant for him in the first place, to secure not only herself but her seven-year-old daughter Phoenix Chi and getting pregnant for a millionaire Hollywood actor is like a lucrative career in itself isn't it? And this week, she released an official statement saying: "I am obviously distressed at the comments made by Eddie Murphy to the media. I have no idea why anybody would conduct themselves about such a personal matter in such a public way. My main concern is for the well-being of Phoenix and of course the baby. I was astonished what Eddie said - there is no question he is the father".

Us British women are NOT to be messed with because I transparently remember when my ex-boyfriend cheated (hell you do NOT forget shit like that) and I was so damn hurt but that hurt turned to anger, and I got his photo, scanned it onto my computer and made a poster out of it. On the poster, I wrote: "I am a gay bloke looking for some male company, and if you are good with back entrances give me a call" and put his cell number right next to it. Then I drove all over Birmingham posting the pictures on telephone boxes all over the place, haha! He had to change his cell because he was getting bare pranks and couldn't understand why. To this day he STILL doesn't suspect I had something to do with it. Idiot! The original idea was to brick his swanky Megane or slash the tyres but I thought I would have some fun with my revenge and when I was making the poster I just cracked up. So any man reading this, and say, YOU are someone I end up dating, just be warned NOT to get on my bad side. Anyway, here are some shocking facts for Eddie's new woman Tracy Edmonds.

1. It is not the first time Doggie Murphy has denied fathering a child. Back in 1987, model Nicolle Radar filed a paternity suit against him claiming her daughter Ashlee was his, and yes he denied it.
2. Then in 1989, air stewardess Paulette McNeely claimed he was the father of her son Eddie Murphy Jnr.
3. In 1982, waitress and would-be actress Tamara Hood went to court asking for child support for two-year-old son Christian Edward Murphy.
4. He was hit with legal action in 1989 for sexually harassing actress Michael Michelle.
5. In 1997, he was stopped in his car by Hollywood police when he was caught with a transvestite whom he claims thought was female (yeah right).
6. He has five more children with ex-wife Nicole Mitchell to whom he recently divorced after seven years - Bria, 17, Myles, 14, Shane, 12, Zola Ivy, 6, and Bella Zahra, 4.
7. When he was 3, his parents divorced and 6 years later, his mother Lillian married Vernon Lynch, an ice-cream factory worker. Tragedy struck when Eddie's real father (a policeman) was knifed to death by a jealous girlfriend when he was just 8-years-old.
8. He once claimed that to find a woman who wasn't after his money, he would have to go to Africa and get a "butt-naked Zebra bitch".
9. In 1984, he was convinced that his student fiancee Lisa Figueroa was after his money and they split but when she phoned begging him to take her back, he reportedly copied the grovelling plea to his answering machines outgoing message.
10. And these are just FEW of the shocking facts centred around Murphy's controversial life. Be afraid Tracey. Be VERY afraid.

Hell, Mel should do a Carmen and write a book on his ass even if she has to sensationalise it and over-exaggerate certain situations. Write about how he had a small penis, write about how he liked to dress up in women clothes behind closed doors (this is rumoured to be true), write about how he started screaming like a bitch giving birth when they had sex, write about how he sucked blatantly and that his bedroom antics weren't up to par, shame his name to damnation, publicly embarrass his ass, I would. You best believe me, the book would sell buckets. I think she should write a second autobiography like the model Katie Price aka Jordan, her former band mate Victoria Beckham aka Posh Spice and Geri Halliwell aka Ginger Spice, you know, a follow-up as to what was going on AFTER the Spice Girls came to an end? I would REALLY be interested. I know she had a couple of acting jobs in TV drama's Fish and another drama starring Lisa Faulkner but I can't remember the name of it though which is just weird because I use to watch the show religiously. To me, that would be the ultimate revenge, and speaking of tell-all books, Carmen Bryan was on Shade45 the other day dishing the goods on her book which is now on sale (has anyone copped it?) and you know she came with more shocking revelations. I uploaded the audio so you can either listen to it or download it.

Nas (whom she has a daughter with called Destiny) knew about the tell-all book she was writing (in fact he were the first to know about it). He even helped her to outline it. I presume this was when he and Jay-Z were STILL feuding but now that they are business partners and have put their differences behind them, he is not happy especially since revelations are now coming out that he dogged the girlfriend of his new business partner. Maybe he fears this could wreck their working relationship. After all, when she sent him certain chapters, Nas was like: "You didn't put in the Beyonce part?". She says Nas specifically wanted that part in the book because he wanted Jay-Z to know that he could have "f*cked" Beyonce. After all, Beyonce appeared in the You Owe Me video with Nas's QB chain on. And she slipped him her number. He didn't call her because she claims her hygiene wasn't up to par (she even said Kelis has bad B.O and smelt "musty" hence her book accusation that Kelis doesn't wear deodorant). She states that Nas was still sleeping with her whilst he was with Kelis. Then there was the proposition of a threesome with Nas himself and Kelis which she passed up on (it was Nasir's idea). She also says that Nas and Jay-Z's friendship is fake and that it won't last and it was only the 10 million dollar cheque that swayed Nas to go into business with Jay-Z (I guess he's still secretly cut up about Jay-Z sleeping with Carmen) but the money was waaay too good to turn down. Would YOU turn down 10 million dollars? Naw, I didn't think so. Hell, I would lick the dirt off your shoes for 10 million dollars. That is some serious dough. Anyway, I'll say no more. Check out the audio for yourselves [HERE].

.
Having downloaded Keyshia Chante's new album 2U, I thought it was a pretty good album but I still prefer her debut which had that slight edge in my opinion but since she's 18 now, her music has most definitely matured and vocally, she has improved. My standout tracks are Kiss, Beep Beep, Can't Believe and a couple others. Keyshia's album was released in Canada 5th December 2006 and doesn't get released in the US until early next year. Anyway, many months ago when my old blog existed, I exclusively posted the tracks Summer Love and Been Gone which have in fact made the official cut. You can always count on my blog to be one of the first to post the exclusives when it comes to R&B music. Being the first blog to post Mya's new record yesterday, my inbox was flooded last night. Everybody was asking, where did you get it, haha. I have my sources. And no, for those asking I do NOT have Mya's new album Liberation but I sure as hell cannot wait for that joint to come out though. As I were saying, 2007 is going to be brilliant - Alicia Keys, Amerie, Mya, Brandy, Ashanti, Brooke Valentine, Megan Rochelle, Teedra Moses, Nicole Scherzinger, Keyshia Cole, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Kelly Rowland, Chilli, Claudette Ortiz, Joss Stone, Keke Wyatt, Usher, Chris Brown, Maxwell, Craig David, Mario Barrett, Omarion, Marques Houston and many others I have not named are expected to drop new releases in the 07. If you want to download Keyshia's album, head on over to Funky Media by clicking [HERE]. (I agree with you Fabizzle, she looks a lot like Aaliyah). Well, I won't be updating until next week. I'm going to watch the X-Factor's semi-finals. It's going to be really intense tonight. I pray Leona makes it. She just has to. Tonight she will be performing Over The Rainbow and Whitney's I Have Nothing. Over The Rainbow was sung at her cousins funeral who lost her battle to Leukemia so tonights performance will be an emotional rollercoster. After the X-Factor, I'm going to a party and I'm going to get plastered, so have a good weekend and be on the lookout for more R&B crumbs. Ciao!

HOW TO TOUCH A GIRL - JOJO
I was meaning to post this yesterday but didn't have the time so for those that didn't catch it, Jojo's new video "How To Touch A Girl" premiered this week.

I think the song is mad cute and the video was nicely done as well. However, I feel it's a poor choice for a second single when there are songs much better on an album that has much consistency pretty much throughout. I feel that as she's only 15 years old and singing lyrics that take her to that level of maturity, she is also risking alienating her younger fanbase. So that said, I don't agree with this choice of single. Though, I give her props because she puts the majority of these 20-something year old singers to shame. The girl has an amazing voice and her album is hot.

DOWNLOAD MYA'S NEW SINGLE!!!

This is the moment we have all been waiting for! Mya's new single LOCK YOU DOWN in full and in high quality! Her official first single has leaked and the song is hot! Mya's coming ya'll. Check it out!!!
.

With all the Aaliyah comparisons that Ciara has been getting lately, this was bound to happen. I have two mashed Aaliyah/Ciara tracks. The first track is Aaliyah singing One In A Million over the beat to Promise and that is sooooo damn hot I have made it my official ringtone.

The second track is Ciara singing Promise over the beat to One In A million and eerily enough both artists fit their given beats to a tee. The way the songs are sung to the beat is like how the glass slipper perfectly fit Cinderella's feet. Just creepy. It's official. Ciara is possessed by Aaliyah's spirit. You can see it in her clothes and choreography.

As for my selection of pictures, I decided to use that picture because it was taken around the time of her One In A Million promotion not to mention that it is one of my favourite Aaliyah pictures. I think it was a shoot that she did for Sophisticated Black Hair, and the Ciara picture is appropriate because it was taken around her promo for Promise AND Ciara: The Evolution. Shiiiit. You can tell I miss Aaliyah like crazy. This mash doesn't do Ciara any favours because it only showcases the fact that Aaliyah was a MUCH more talented singer.

Anyway, check it out. Compelling stuff!

Fantasia Barrino performed at her album Record Pre-Release party and looked a right fright. Maybe she was constipated and was crying and sweating because her bowels were on fire.

Mary J Blige has recieved a stagerring EIGHT Grammy nominations so congratulations to her. The Breakthrough was in deed a great album. So yes I think it was well deserved. So here's who attended the Grammy announcement:
.

Justin Timberlake, Chris Brown, Ludacris amongst others. Now someone tell me what is going on with Corinne Bailey-Rae. Jesus help her soul and I'm not being facetious. As cute as Chris Brown is, he has a big ole head on those soldiers.

Here are some more Rihanna pictures taken from her CoverGirl shoot. Rihanna has recieved FOUR Grammy nods. 2006 has been a FANTASTIC year for Rihanna and 2007 is going to be just as huge.

Haha! Look what was spotted over at Crunk & Disorderly. Beyonce having a wig malfunction! I already posted the pictures when she did a christmas special for Disney 2 weeks ago but I didn't capture this, and with all her millions, you wouldn't expect this coming from Miss Beyonce. Lawd hammercy.

I was going through my picture archives and I caught wind of this throwback Destiny's Child picture. It was taken at around the time Destiny's Child first started out with their first hit single NO NO NO back in 98. At the time they were all 16-years-old. Oh, and look who's in the picture! JAY-Z! Was 28-year-old Jay-Z checking for 16-year-old Beyonce at the time? Who'd have thought they'd end up dating 5 years later?

Anyway, a host of A-Listers turned up at the World Premiere of Columbia Pictures' "The Pursuit of Happyness". Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, Thandie Newton, Terrence Howard, Cuba Gooding, amongst others had attended. Then there was Will Smith, the man himself. He brought along his whole family. Check out the action:

.
Will's children are adorable. Jada looked gorgeous, but I was actually shocked how grown up Will's oldest boy Trey looked. He is soooooo freakin handsome. Willow looks the spitting image of her daddy Will, like he ripped off his face and put it over hers. He definetely spat her out. She's even got his ears and everything. Jaden is gorgeous. Both of Will's sons are going to be ladies men.

102.7 KIIS FM "Jingle Ball" saw Danity Kane come out to play:

They also performed at the event:

As did Justin Timberlake and Timbaland.

OK Christina, we get the memo. You're fly. Now go find some employment or stay being a layabout like Blu Cantrell. Anyway, stay tuned for more R&B crumbs.

THURSDAY'S R&B FABNESS!

Rapper Jay-Z has signed yet another act on Def Jam and she goes by the name of Karina Pasian and she will be coming out with an album next year. On the album, she has worked with Sean Garrett, Ne-yo, John Legend and Gordan Chambers. Will she be as big as Jay-Z's phenomenal international sensation Rihanna? Or will she end up getting dropped like Jay-Z's other signed act Teairra Mari? Only time will tell, but as soon as I get some music I'll put it up. Seems like 2007 is going to be a fantastic year for R&B music. It has been made OFFICIAL that Usher WILL be coming out with his 5th studio album next year. According to MTV, his new album will be released mid-2007:

"I feel it's about time for me to come out with an album," he said via phone from Atlanta on Tuesday. "I'm not extremely enthused about where music has gone. I say that coming from listening to artists like Stevie Wonder, Prince, Michael Jackson - those great artists and iconic musicians. I feel music is at a standstill."

Jermaine Dupri and the production teams of Dre and Vidal and Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis are all scheduled to collaborate on the record - as is Jay-Z. Usher, who appears on the Pharrell-helmed "Anything" from Jay's Kingdom Come LP, said he and Hova did a trade-off.

I can't wait. This should be a good one. I love Usher's music especially the My Way album. I enjoyed 8701. Also, Confessions was well produced as well. Confessions sold a staggering one million in its first week in the US and wounded up selling nine million in the US alone. In the UK, Usher made his first claim to fame when his single You Make Me Wanna shot right in at no1 in the UK singles chart. However, the success of 8701 further established Usher's career over here when he released the extremely catchy Pop Ya Color which was the opening single for the album. That went in at no2 but the 8701 album went straight in at no1 in the UK album charts. The phenomenal success didn't stop there either. He released Confessions back in 2004 and that was just mega-huge internationally. Confessions went straight in at no1 in the UK chart and stayed in the top 5 for SIX MONTHS. His opening single Yeah went straight in at no 1 in the UK singles chart as did his second single Burn and all his other singles went into the top 5, so as you can see, Usher is massive here and I can't wait to see him shut down Justin Timberfake who is well known for jacking Prince and Michael Jackson. And speaking of Michael Jackson:

Justin's ex Britney Spears was spotted yesterday wearing a Michael Jackson Thriller T-Shirt. That is, after she wounded up wearing the clothes that um, were actually those of her male pal. Britney's latest plights and non-stop partying has landed her in hot water with child services as I am now reading many reports that they are beginning to show some concern over her two children whom she's seemed to have abandoned over the past two weeks. Is Britney about to be investigated once more over her duties as a mother? Somewhere in his trailer park, Kevin Federline is grinning from ear to ear.

The Eddie Murphy and Mel B saga continues. The Sun reports that Mel B is "shellshocked" at Eddie demanding a DNA test. The foul thing about it is that she had no idea she was dumped and found out the same time as the rest of the world - through the media when his comments were hugely publicised. How humiliating! This is what you call a true dog. She reportedly told a pal: "There's no question that Eddie is the father of my baby. I haven't been with anyone else since I met Eddie. "I'm shell-shocked by the whole thing. As far as I was concerned we hadn't really broken up - we'd just had a bit of a row." (She couldn't get along with his mother Lillian who was living with them in Eddie's house, not to mention that most of his family were folks she didn't see eye to eye with. Most of them were on his payroll and they complained that she was "rude" and "abrasive") Her comments follow Murphy's appearance on a Dutch TV show, where he told the presenter: "I don't know whose child that is, until it comes out and has a blood test. You shouldn't jump to conclusions." And this is the man Tracey Edmonds is breaking her neck to be with. [SOURCE]

My girl Mariah was seen out and about in Beverley Hills. Wow. She is wearing clothes!

Blu Cantrell attended the SeenON.com Launch Party. Wow. There is just no getting away from this chick. What is she supposedly doing with herself these days?

Cassie was seen at the Washington Wizards vs New York Knicks Game.

Gwen Stefani was seen leaving Coty Event at Hotel Gansevoort where she was there to see french perfume manufacturer Coty announce the latest addition to its growing roster of celebrity fragrances: Gwen Stefani and her L.A.M.B. apparel and accessory line. The fragrance is expected to launch at retail in fall 2007.

Jennifer Hudson attended the Stuff Magazine Toys for Bigger Boys. With all the Dream Girls glory that she's been receiving lately, she must be on top of the world. Even though Beyonce denied this week that there is a feud between the pair, she honestly cannot expect us not to think she wished it were her who was receiving all the accolades. Sometimes being an international star isn't always enough and for once, the talent actually speaks than the popularity. Dream Girls doesn't open in the UK until next February 2007. May have to use my US connections to bag myself a pirate. Hahaha. Naw, seriously, I can wait. I'm sure it'll be worth it.

Well, here are some candid shots of Kelly Rowland in New York, taking a break from recording. Her new album Miss Kelly (WTF?) is expected to drop in the early quarter of 2007. I'm also told that Olivia has scrapped Behind Closed Doors and has recorded completely brand new material for her new album which is to be titled ... WAIT FOR IT ... Second Chance! How frickin' ironic is that? Anyway, the new album is expected to drop next year on G-Unit but don't take my word for it. Once I get some concrete evidence, I will post it! So um, watch this space folks.
.

And this week sees R&B releases from Beyonce and co (Dream Girls OST), Ciara (Ciara: The Evolution) and Gwen Stefani (The Sweet Escape). Ciara is on course to clinch the no1 spot with sales of 325K in its first week, and it's even reported that the number could be even higher. She is even tipped to outsell big names like Eminem and Gwen Stefani:

As we head full-on into the teeth of the holiday retail season, LaFace/ZLG soul diva Ciara's The Evolution, featuring duets with 50 Cent, Lil Jon and Chamillionaire, appears poised to top the HITS album chart next Tuesday.

According to reports from those retailers who haven't lost our phone number, the total could go as high as 325k, or even higher. The album features producers will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas and the Neptunes' Pharrell. The Atlanta-based singer's previous album, Goodies, came out in Sept. '04, selling 125k its first week on the way to 2.6 million in the U.S. - HITS

I say waaaay to go Ciara! Her album is hot hot hot, so hot, it brings summer to a cold and wintry December, and of course she was smart enough to release it in the Christmas season where many of us will be emptying the lining of our pockets to buy Christmas presents. So I am well made for her. Congratulations.

By the way ladies, many of you kept asking me if Chris Brown is 18 yet and the truth is, he turned 18 recently, so um, we no longer have to feel bad for fancying him. I mean, I'm only a few years older than him and the fact that we were both born in the 80's ... well, I don't feel too bad to be honest with you but yeah, he is now legal. This news is pointless I know but give a sista a break. Christmas done come early, the boy is legal dammit! Oh and he says that as he's legal, his new album WILL be more mature in lyrics and content but it will still be something his younger fans can listen to because he doesn't want to alienate them. Awww, how sweet. His new album will be released mid-late 2007 and ya'll know Usher will be coming out that time as well. Let the battle commence!

Today's new music comes from Tweet and Ciara:

This is an up-tempo bonus track taken from Ciara's new album Ciara: The Evolution and it's called Love You Better. It's okay. The beat has potential though it does sound like a second grade Get Up/1,2 Step. Not sure if it's me but a lot of her dance tracks have a similar backdrop to them.

See Ya is a laidback and chilled R&B number which is what she was all about during her Southern Hummingbird days. Nice track nevertheless. Whisper is a soulful piano-laid anthem so if you can't wait for Tweet's upcoming album I'm Back Again so you may want to check these out. Thanks for the music Etienne.

And lastly, here is my review of Fantasia's new album:

OK, so last night I downloaded the ripped edition of Fantasia's new album Fantasia and I listened to it from beginning to end, so here's my review. I Nominate You, Only One U, I Feel Beautiful, Two Weeks Notice, Surround U and Bump What Ya Friends Say are simply OUTSTANDING. This is the real emotive of reasoning as to what true sanging is really all about, nurturing the soul by singing with so much emphasis, power, and passion. The tracks were sung with so much empathy, you felt the pain, the sorrow and the joy. She really does take it to church, something which was acquired during her time as a choir girl. Even her upbeat tracks are fresh, innovative and different with minor alternative sounds which were incorporated well with the contemporary R&B. This marks the VERY reason why Fantasia Barrino was crowned the American Idol winner during season 3 and rightly so, though it should have been Jennifer Hudson or Latoya London as the runner-up. Fantasia gets a gratifying 8 out of 10.

WEDNESDAY R&B CRUMBS ...
This big news in R&B is that this weekend Beyonce and Jay-Z are getting married. Now I know this rumour has been reported for the billionth time but hey, this time it could be official. I'm STILL not running with it until I hear it from the horses mouth but I think they should. They've been in a strong relationship for the past four years and it's about time she popped out some baby Joe camels around these parts and give us all a damn break *lol*. Anyway, check it out:

WILL Jay-Z and Beyonce Knowles finally tie the knot during his "surprise" 37th birthday party next weekend? Knowles, Jay and some Def Jam executives were at STK on West 12th Street on Saturday talking about the four-day "party" - but insiders say it will be more than a birthday celebration. "Beyonce is throwing Jay a four-day birthday party, but it's really a wedding," said one source. Guests, including family and close friends, were told to have passport applications filed by last Friday so they can attend the bash on a yacht in St. Barts. But insiders said the guests will also be ferried over to Anguilla for the wedding at Cap Juluca, a five-star resort with Moorish villas. Another spy said Knowles and Jay-Z had toured the site earlier this year and approved it for their nuptials. Reps for Knowles, Jay-Z and Cap Juluca didn't return calls or e-mails. The rapper/mogul has dated the lovely Knowles, now bigger than ever with her star turn in "Dreamgirls," for four years. [SOURCE]

Jay-Z is worth 340 million so I wonder if he'd make her sign a pre-nup. I know she's an "independent woman" but she's not on his level as far as the cash cow is concerned. Obviously, she doesn't need his cash because she's made enough not to ever need to work again. Hmm...

Check out this unreleased Beyonce track which is a rejected cut from her latest album B'Day. And another Dream Girls track called When I First Saw You performed by Beyonce and Jamie Foxx. [DOWNLOAD] Thanks Booskee. And a MASSIVE thanks to Etienne for sending me the full 2-disc set of the Dream Girls soundtrack (the Deluxe Edition) which I have successfully downloaded, so thanks again sweetheart!

A host of R&B celebrities attended the LG Chocolate Party with Rihanna as the named brand ambassador. The party took place at Las Vegas' newest nightspot, Moon Nightclub, in the Palms Resort and Casino. LG Electronics MobileComm U.S.A., Inc. (LG Mobile Phones) announced that they are bringing together two global sensations, Chocolate by LG and Rihanna, to launch their new Chocolate color phones. Chocolate by LG in white, mint green and cherry red were recently introduced to consumers last month. Rihanna was chosen as the brand ambassador for Chocolate by LG because she embodies what the Chocolate phone is all about. She is fresh, sexy, vibrant, and a style icon.

Never knew LG phones would become so popular. My mama has one and she brought my sister a cutesy pink one for her birthday a couple of months ago, and I remember laughing at my sister saying that that the brand wasn't all that popular but to my shame, it turns out that it is one of the newest high-profile technological products that has taken over, not just phones of course but they do TV's, DVD players, you name it. Still I am very contented with my Sony Ericsson W850i which has an mp3 player that can store up to 4,000 tracks. Very expensive but well worth it if you're a huge music lover like myself and love to have your music with you wherever you go.

Chocolate by LG is a work of art, both in looks and features -- with its sleek, ultra thin minimalist style and silky-smooth slide design, users will be lured in by Chocolate's glowing red touch sensitive keypad. Chocolate is the ultimate mobile phone, loaded with a MP3 player, IM and email capabilities, speakerphone and all of the hottest features all packaged within a smooth slider design. Oh and it doesn't hurt that I like chocolate too! Anyway, here are all the R&B stars that attended:

Janet Jackson, her fella JD and Neyo. In other Janet news, Janet is prepping herself for her 20 Years Old tour: Her tour which will be in support of 20 Y.O. will begin sometime in 2007 with rehearsals starting early in the new year. Janet says she intends on touring for decades to come: "Tina Turner does it, and look at the Rolling Stones" she said. "As long as it's still fun for me I'll do it - unless, God forbid, I break a hip." A Hawaiian dance troupe has been considered to open the show. Janet gave a preview of what's to come on the tour when she opened and performed on the 2006 Billboard Music Awards. Janet has stated that she is planning to do a show where she performs every hit single through her entire career. Whether or not this will be achieved, remains to be seen. Since Janet has not toured for her last two albums, I really look forwards to seeing her touring again.

She has also revealed that she has finally found a man who turns her on more than any other - her boyfriend Jermaine Dupri. And the fact that the music producer is younger than her helps spice things up in the bedroom too. "Sexually, we 40-year-olds are in our prime. It's nice when you're with someone younger because they can keep up. I have way more sexual experience now and it shows," said the singer about her 34 year-old beau. The 'All For You' singer also admits she loves to strip for her lover because she likes giving him what he wants. Janet - who confesses she has an insatiable sexual appetite - says she treats Jermaine to a seductive X-rated dance any time he wants one. "When they ask, you give them what they want. They're asking you, they could be easily asking someone else. So he's asked me before and I've given," Hollywood Rag quoted her, as telling Britain's FHM magazine. The music icon further claims that Jermaine gets incredibly turned on by her ample breasts, which ballooned when she gained weight for a movie role, which she eventually turned down, last year. "Jermaine would call me Double D. I'd say, 'I'm not a double D! I refuse to go up a cup size!' I squeezed into a C," said the pop star. OK, about sex with JD, someone pass me the sick bucket.
[SOURCE]

Boyz II Men. Now when I first saw them backstage at the Billboard Awards and at the actual ceremony I was shocked at how much weight they had put on. Maybe they should resort to calling themselves Boyz II Fat Men. Anyone would think they ate three large elephants for breakfast. The only member that NEVER seems to pile on is Shaun and he has always been the skinny one in the group. I also read on here that their new album The Remedy has leaked so if it has, hit me up. I don't have it.

Rihanna looked red hot at the event as well as in her promo pictures for the product. Rihanna celebrated her win as Billboard's 2006 "Female Artist of the Year" at the LG Chocolate Party where she performed several of her hit singles for guests at the intimate venue (below).

I guess she knows she has gorgeous legs because she loves to show them off at every opportunity, and with pins like that who can blame her? In other Rihanna news, she has sung her way to a CoverGirl contract and it has been made official that Rihanna WILL be releasing her third studio album next year. This news comes from a Press Release, courtesy of CoverGirl. Check this out:

Rihanna, the internationally- acclaimed songstress who has won millions of fans with her smash hit "S.O.S." and charming persona, is joining the CoverGirl family. The 18-year-old star joins the ranks of CoverGirls including Queen Latifah, Molly Sims, Christie Brinkley and Keri Russell. Rihanna will shoot her first CoverGirl ads this December for a nationwide launch in summer 2007. Rihanna's debut album "Music of the Sun," which she co-wrote with renowned music producer Evan Rogers and his partner Carl Sturken, was released in August 2005. Her world renowned second album, "A Girl Like Me," featuring "S.O.S." and her follow-up single "Unfaithful" has established her among today's top artists. Through it all, Rihanna has managed to stay grounded and strives for her music to be a personal conversation with girls her age -- reflecting their triumphs, complexities and struggles. Rihanna is now working on her third album which is set for release in 2007."Rihanna's natural beauty and musical talents make her a perfect fit for CoverGirl. She is the latest in a long line of CoverGirls such as Queen Latifah, Faith Hill and Brandy to reinforce the brand's heritage in music," said Gina Drosos, Vice President and General Manager of Global Cosmetics, Procter & Gamble Beauty. "Rihanna is a talented, confident young woman who exemplifies the CoverGirl ideals with her inner confidence and fresh beauty. We're proud to welcome her to the CoverGirl family."

"I've loved makeup and dreamed of being a CoverGirl since I was a little girl," said Rihanna. "Growing up, my mother was a makeup artist and I was fascinated watching her apply lipcolor, blush and mascara. Now I get to be surrounded by all of my favorites from CoverGirl!" Since its introduction in 1961, CoverGirl has helped launch numerous modeling careers and was one of the first brands to link models' names and faces with a product. The long list of famous CoverGirl models includes Christie Brinkley, Cheryl Tiegs, Rachel Hunter, Tyra Banks, Niki Taylor and Molly Sims, and the brand is known for consistently signing models who embody both inner and outer beauty, such as current spokesmodel Queen Latifah.
[SOURCE]

OK, so yes, she's following in the steps of her idol Beyonce but I say make that money girl!!! I am shocked that she's releasing another album so soon. The fantastic Music of The Sun was released in 2005. A Girl Like Me was released this year. And now her third album will be released next year. Is she going to be one of those artists who's going to release an album every year just to try and wallow in all the hype before it wanes? I hope not, because the real test in an artists strength is to go away for 3 or 4 years and still come back strong, but either way good luck to her. Not the best singer by any means but the girl is lovely and works her ass off like no tomorrow. Her success is very deserving. She's appeared on ALL the major Award shows either winning, performing or BOTH, and not just in the US, but Award shows all over the world. There is not one Awards show Rihanna hasn't attended where she hasn't performed or won anything. She has just toured all over the UK and Europe with the Pussy Cat Dolls which all of her tours have been heavily followed on this blog. During the promo for her sophomore album A Girl Like Me, she was endorsed by Nike, and I'm taking it, the CoverGirl campaign will collide with the release of the new album next year.
.

Brandy and her girls went out to eat at Savannah's recently. She's looking a whole lot better than she did in previous months, and I cannot wait for her comeback next year.

Somewhere in R&B cuckoo land, Ciara began her promo machine as the release of her new album Ciara: The Evolution went on sale yesterday (Tuesday 5th December 2006). First stop was TRL.

She also did an album signing at Circuit City in New York. Lastly, Cassie announces that she's about to appear in her first movie role (thanks Fabizzle).

How she managed this I do not know. It would be unfair to say it has anything to do with the words "mouth" and "penis" as was publicly suggested with Diddy and herself regarding how she got her recording contract. When her appalling BET performance hit You Tube, this was what was being said and a petition was carried out but with the acting side of the fence, you never know - she may just surprise us.

The whole album is being streamed [HERE] (thanks Joeyy, I will definetely review it this week once I've heard it all). So far, the album is hot just like I'd expected. By tonight, the rip should be in my email hopefully, because I really want to put the whole album in my phone so I can listen to it wherever I am.

RIDE FOR YOU - DANITY KANE (WORLD PREMIERE)
Just after Jesus Christ came out of nappies, Danity Kane FINALLY premiered their second video Ride For You ...

Okay, let me take some time out to crap on this video. First things first, the video is nauseatingly WACK. This video should have been released AGES ago and considering that christmas has come and gone with the timing, you'd have at least expected it to be great, but the video was just so low budget. Diddy ought to be a shamed of himself as to how badly he is doing these girls. I've already complained that Diddy does his artists really badly and doesn't go out for them like he should because how is it, he is going to have two highly budgeted video's for his two video's off Press Play but leave Danity Kane with this mess? Secondly, why are the two white chicks the only ones filmed during the first half of the video? Why do they not have any chemistry with the tasty hunks during the end? The video is a big disappointment which is a shame because the song is beautiful.

THE BILLBOARD AWARDS 2006
Last night saw yet ANOTHER music Awards show take place and amazingly enough Beyonce was a no-show as was Justin Timberlake. Those two are the major big acts that have achieved a lot this year musically. Well, we pretty much know why Beyonce wasn't there that night. I'll get onto that in a moment.

.
Rihanna won an award whilst Gwen performed her latest hit single Wind It Up. Rihanna looked every inch of your Bratz doll. Cute. I loved her hair. I think that look really works for her.
.
.
Chris Brown looked mad cute backstage just before the Awards kicked off. And then when the awards did kick off, he looked mighty cool in his glasses. Frankie J was also seen on arrival.

.
Clockwise: Janet Jackson on arrival with her troll lover Jermaine Dupri, runner-up Katherine McPhee, Mary J Blige wins her award and Pharrell Williams. Memo to JD: Ever heard of teeth whitening? Janet Jackson always has the killer smile showing off her pearly whites putting her in the running to be the spokesperson for Colgate, and well, you'd at least think she'd have told her man about it. His teeth are so bright and yellow, I'm pretty certain Stevie Wonder wouldn't have any problems identifying what colour they were but it's just not that either. Dude needs a full dental procedure.
.
.
I caught Janet's performance on You Tube and it was an okay performance I guess. Nothing spectacular, and I hated her wig.
.
.
Clockwise: Nelly Furtado arrives, Fergie performs with her band mate Black Eyed Peas Will.i.am, and Vida on the red carpet as she makes her arrival. For once she looks nice. Well, at least she looks like she showered.

So yesterday, Beyonce snubbed the billboard Awards to attend her movie premiere for Dream Girls and being the devotee boyfriend Jay-Z was at his woman's side. Everyone looked decent and chilled, and for a moment, you wouldn't think anything could go possibly wrong with the positive response that the movie has been getting lately. Well, things DID go wrong. Tina Knowles. She committed an abominable sin wearing that joke of an outfit which we all know she designed herself with all the frilly exteriors and whatnot. Yikes!

I feel really sorry for the curtains that had to endure the massacre that it did to be misused in order to create this atrocity of an outfit. The day she suffers arthritis in her fingers to put a stop to this fashion crime that we've all been subjected over the years is the day we can all say good riddance to bad garbage. Then she wonders why her and Beyonce are the laughing stock of the fashion trade. Of course, nobody is going to tell her that she is real wack with designing clothes because they don't want to encounter the wrath of mama Knowles fury who has a temper as short as a fuse and as eruptive as lava exploding out of a volcano. Apparently, it is what it is unfortunately.
.

.
Well of course the whole Dream Cast was there as well as Terrence Howard and his daughter, Lenny Kravitz and Queen Latifah. The BIG controversy was when Eddie Murphy arrived with his new squeeze Tracy Edmunds igniting the fact that his split with former Spice Girl Mel B was OFFICIALLY OVER! All last week, the UK tabloids kept reporting that they were still an item but after last night, The Sun newspaper which is the biggest selling tabloid in the UK made it a priority to put the story on their front page today:
.

The front of the paper shows Mel B coming out of her London home yesterday in her trademark Leopard skin print (this was a trademark of hers during her Spice Girl hey day) as she left to make her way to Heathrow airport. According to reports, Eddie Murphy is NOT convinced that the baby is his.

Beyonce was spotted once again with her nephew. We see her more with Daniel than the actual mother. Where is Solange? Come look after your child.

Christina Milian attended the First Major Outdoor Art Installation and looked gorgeous as usual.

WHO IS THE FATHER OF MEL B'S BABY?
*UPDATED EXCLUSIVE INFO*

Eddie Murphy reportedly revealed that he's split with former Spice Girl Melanie B., and he's questioning the paternity of her unborn child. Sources say Murphy was asked on a Dutch TV show this weekend if he was happy with the pregnant Melanie, to which he reportedly responded, "You're being presumptuous, because we're not together anymore. And I don't know whose child that is, until it comes out and has a blood test. You shouldn't jump to conclusions, sir." The couple started dating in June, just two months after the "Daddy Day Care" star's divorce became final. Murphy already has six children, while Melanie, aka Scary Spice, has a daughter from a previous relationship. Now who's your daddy? Eddie's rep told TMZ, "Mr. Murphy does not discuss his personal life publicly, so whatever is being reported is a fabrication and did not occur."

Eddie Murphy and Tracey Edmonds, a film producer and the ex-wife of singer Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, are dating, she tells PEOPLE exclusively. The couple have been seeing each other "for about a month and a half," Edmonds said at the New York premiere of Dreamgirls, which she attended with Murphy on Monday. When asked if she was happy she smiled and said, "Yes, very happy. We're having fun." Previously, Murphy had been seeing former Spice Girl, Melanie Brown. A rep for the comedian said, "We do not comment on Mr. Murphy's personal life." Edmonds split from "Babyface" in October 2005 after 13 years together. [SOURCE]

This is the second time Eddie Murphy and his "new" woman Tracy Edmonds have been seen out together and eyebrows were certainly raised since a heavily pregnant Mel B was snapped in London last week. But yet he arrives to his Dream Girls premiere looking extra cosy with Tracy (who was once married to Babyface). When the cats away, Eddie likes to play?

Or what if there is more to this relationship than they're letting on? What if Eddie discovered the baby wasn't his and decided to give Mel her marching orders? I just find it weird that Eddie is snapped with EVERY woman under the sun but her, and if the baby REALLY is Eddie's and he's messing with other women already, he is a dirty dog. Enough said.

BEYONCE AT HER DREAM GIRLS PREMIERE & DOES THE TODAY SHOW AND 106
I am going to make this the ULTIMATE Beyonce post, where she attended her premiere for Dream Girls:

Of course her man Jay-Z was there and the rest of the Dream Girls cast but I will post those pictures in a separate entry.

Beyonce, we know Listen is your frock song, we know you like to appear beautiful and insatiable when singing this song BUT we're in winter now. You know when temperatures hit 0 degrees and you need to wrap up warm because stepping out is like stepping into the North pole? At least it is over here. Chick was freezing to death and had to be covered in a coat when she performed on Today. Next thing you know, she can't do no mo promo because she got brought down with bolts of flu. I know if my ass walked out like that I would be at the mercy of a complete sneezefest, blocked nose, sore throat, you name it.
.

But you know how Beyonce is. She's completely insatiable. But the question on everybody elses lips is ... what exactly did she see in the audience to warrant such a frightening facial expression?

It's very possible that she saw Farrah Franklin in the audience wearing a tight t-shirt with the words, LISTEN BITCH, YOU SUCK! emblazoned across her ample chest. Then once Farrah catches on that Beyonce saw the message she walks off with the words, KISS MY ASS emblazoned across the back of her pants. Beyonce also visited 106 and Park:

.
So far so good! Meanwhile, check out Jennifer Hudson's takes in the latest Advocate:

I think she looks smoking, especially in that middle picture. I am glad she is finally getting some recognition. Below, is Beyonce's performance of Listen on the Today show:

She looks mad cute but her ass knows better to cover up next time. During this time of year, you really cannot afford to think about sanity.

MONDAY'S R&B FABNESS!

In life and death, we love and loved Aaliyah right? If we want to remember her, we can watch her concerts (I still have some of her UK performances on VHS), we can hit up You Tube and watch old-time interviews and performances as well as listen to all her music. She was most definitely an innovator who paved the way for artists like Ashanti and Ciara (soft vocals over hard beats, Hip Hop footwork, you name it), so why did I find myself reeling at the thought of an Aaliyah clothing line? Apparently, the Haughton family are starting a full line of clothing and accessories that you can purchase from retail outlets across the United States. [SOURCE] I just don't understand why her family are pimping out her name 5 years after her death. It's not even a clothing line that inspires her personal style and tastes but some tacky t-shirts with Aaliyah's face imprinted all over it. I mean think about the corniness of these Tupac AF1's:
.

Could be a whole lot worse I guess. I don't want to walk the street in a jacket with a large Aaliyah imprint of her face, and folks be looking at me like "That bitch is waayyy too fanatical. It's been 5 years darn it" Just leave me alone with my Aaliyah CD's and I'll be just fine thank you. Sometimes you have to ask yourself, is this really a way to keep her memory alive or is it just another ploy to make money off her name? And if it's not the latter, it's about time somebody found themselves a real job. [SOURCE] Well, let's get down to the fabness of the R&B world and those celeb appearances. Who was hot and who was not?

A host of big names in R&B turned up for VH1'S Big Awards 2006. That's what we love about the christmas season, soooo many Award shows. We even have the Billboard Awards coming up this week. That should be an interesting one.
.

Blu Cantrell, Fergie and Willi.am, Ice-T, Bow Wow and Justin Timberlake all turned up.

Here is Janet's spread for Essence magazine. I guess these are okay but nothing to write home about. Her Vanity Fair shoot was the best in my honest opinion.

In these pictures, Janet is reheasing for her performance at this weeks Billboard Awards 2006. She will be doing a medley of her old hits including Control. The performance should be hot! I can't wait!

Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith and their future heartbreaker son Jaden attended
the Museum of Moving Image which saluted the man himself Will Smith. Jada looks beautiful? Why can't she look like this all the time? Anyway, Terrence Howard, his son and Thandie Newton was also at the event to congratulate him.

Thandie looked gorgeous.

Ciara performed on The Late Show with Craig Ferguson. The big day is looming. Two days to go before the big release of her highly anticipated sophomore album Ciara: The Evolution and the chick has been promoting her fanny off like no tomorrow. I hope she sells well. The album is hot and I can't stop jamming to it. Someone emailed me asking me if I would put the album in my R&B Brilliance compilation, and, well the answer is no. There is a difference between "hot" album and "classic" album. Cici has one of those hot-at-the-moment albums, nice beats and all but nothing classic. I would not put her album on the same level as Tamia's debut and recent album Between Friends, Mariah's Emancipation and Butterfly and the albums previous to those ones, or Toni Braxton's debut and sophomore, Aaliyah's One In A million or Janet Jackson's Janet. Now those albums are timeless to me. They go beyond hotness. Some of these albums were released over 10 years ago and I still play them as if they just came out, so whilst I think Ciara has a trendy album with nice beats, I cannot see myself jamming to it in 10 years time.

Going back to World Aids Day ...

A host of R&B celebrities attended Giorgio Armani Go Red for World AIDS Day and they consisted of Beyonce Knowles who looked lovely from head to toe, Amerie who also looked gorgeous, actress Rosie Perez (now why do I keep getting her confused with Tisha Campbell?), Chris Brown, Eve and Akon. So check out the action below:
.

Beyonce looked amazing.

Chris Brown is such a cutie. He can get it 7 days a week with triple dessert afterwards. Mmmm hmmmm.

Akon looks a little toooo happy to be in Amerie's company. With his x-rated fugliness, maybe its not so often he gets to cosy up next to a beautiful woman. Amerie also attended the Nascar Nextel Cup Series Champion's Party.
.

Eve also attended the Emporio Armani event which honored World AIDS Day. I'll put my thoughts aside as far as appearances go because she's been really dedicated to the cause, and some folks, despite their fame, wealth and popularity, well, they haven't done jack, so good on Eve. Well, anything that wasn't Aids day related transcends back to Fantasia's latest appearance on 106 and Park as her sophomore album Fantasia gets released the week after next:

I am not trying to poke jabs but her mouth looks huuuuge like somebody punched it and now its left in a purging position which can't fix back. You can just look at her and tell she speaks with a lisp, just by the way her mouth looks. Seriously, if she's not going to smile properly, then I say keep it closed. The chick just doesn’t photograph very well at all.

Gorgeous My Wife & Kids actress Jennifer Freeman celebrated her 21st birthday recently, with best pal One on One actress Kyla Pratt and R&B princes Ray-J and Marques Houston (whom she co-starred with in You Got Served):
.

She looks beautiful, and if the rumours are true that the chick is strictly for carpet munching, lets just say that a lot of dudes I know will be jumping off 200ft buildings.

Awww. Lenny Kravitz loves his daughter Zoe. They are ALWAYS together which is great. I love to see a man dote over his children, maybe because I never had a close-knit relationship with MY father. Oh well. Shit happens but every girl needs a daddy. Zoe is the spitting image of her mama Lisa Bonet. Anyway, Lenny and Zoe both hosted the DKNY Jeans & 401 Projects in New York City.

Rihanna performed in my city Birmingham at the N.E.C, along with the Pussy Cat Dolls. She is like a walking atlas. I hope she gets a long deserved rest after the tour. The chick has been travelling all over the place lately. Her hard work has definitely paid off. Mini Beyonce? Hell yeah! Now we're back to Miss Beyonce, as she graces the latest edition of teen mag Seventeen:

In the magazine, she talks about her battle with food and her constant fight to stay slim which she has now retaliated against. But when it's time for her to take on another movie role, watch her starve herself again and put herself back on the liquid diet. She need not worry about her eating habits seeing as though she'll be touring next year and such activity will help her stay in shape.

Now look at her out and about playing the loving auntie to her little nephew Daniel, who is absolutely adorable. In tow were her ex-Destiny's Child band mate Kelly Rowland and her mama Tina. Now the wig is another story. Looks like mother Sparrow accidentally dropped her nest on Beyonce's head. Soon enough, the eggs will come sprouting. You meaning to tell me she couldn't fix on her wig better than that? Hmph! In other Beyonce news, word has it that Beyonce is secretly seething that Jennifer Hudson is getting all the rave reviews and public accolades for her role in Dream Girls, whilst she has to settle for second fiddle. When Matthew Knowles reportedly saw the final edit of the movie, he nearly had a damn fit. A lot of Beyonce's lines were reportedly cut (supposedly because of the directors awareness of Beyonce's limitations) and whilst the original Dream Girls were centred a lot around Bee's character Deena, this motion picture is mainly centred around Effie (Jennifer Hudson's character). So despite Beyonce getting more screen time, Jennifer had a much more complex role. Due to Beyonce getting more screen time and very little lines, Jennifer has had to settle for Supporting Actress whilst Beyonce gets Lead Actress, further igniting Hollywood to push her to the forefront all because she brings in "star power" to the movie. According to a New York Post article that I read yesterday, one writer claims that Jennifer's magnificently-stellar performance made Beyonce look like an extra. Ouch! Needing to add that the Oscars will be very interesting next year. I know my ass will be glued.

Lastly but not least, the X-Factor. Leona Lewis made it into the semi finals Saturday night by singing Mariah's Without You and she stopped them dead in her tracks. The chick rocked. You can tell that musically she wants to go the same route as Celine Dion, Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston, singing power ballads and emotionally charged soulful anthems. I stand by this chick all the way and if she doesn't win the show, the intentions of the phone viewers definitely need to be questioned. I'm a bit nervous though simply because we've NEVER had a black contestant win a reality show in Britain. And secondly, females don't win because it appears females vote more than males and they vote for the good-looking male contestants. This is all because they have the eye-candy factor, which would explain why weak voiced Ray is still in the competition.

FRIDAY'S R&B FABNESS!!!
Today is World Aids Day and it's a tragic epidemic that affects us all in age, race, sexual orientation, creed, you name it. Though aids is mainly strife in the black community, it affects all communities, all the peoples of the world. Their suffering is our suffering. And I hope everybody takes the time out to donate to the cause or to at least feed yourselves with some knowledge to create a self-awareness of the conservative issue that matters to us in a society ravished by such a terrible disease. So to get a bit of knowledge on the subject, peep this [WEBSITE] and absorb ALL the facts because this is something worth knowing about. That said, we are now in the month of Christmas. How time flies. Has anyone started their Christmas shopping yet? Christmas is for the kids so I'll be splurging I guess. I also want to thank everybody for having my back. It was truly appreciated. I will just learn to look past the bullshit and not let it get to me. If those people are adults and are resorting to name calling over an artist who isn't paying your bills or providing you with a roof over your head, then I truly feel sorry for you because what grown man or grown woman in their right mind is going to catch feelings and resort to vile attacks over an artist who isn't even aware of your existence? Grow the fuck up please. Beyonce stans are the worst. I keep forgetting to put my disclaimer back up. After all, it did mention that this blog isn't for you if you cannot respect my opinions as well as the opinions of my other blog readers in a civilised manner. It just makes me so angry because my blog is very popular, and I put so much work and effort into it. I don't have to do this but I do it because I enjoy it. And I have to add, it's not easy running a blog as successful as mine. You are put under sooo much pressure to update it frequently just to keep the thousands of visitors coming back for more. I get dozens of emails each week from folks asking me where do they start, and how do they go about setting up a high-profile blog like mine. It's hard but I do enjoy it and it can only work if you enjoy doing it and put all your dedication into it. However, I can definitely see myself continuing this in the long run. The only time I'll stop is if I get fed up with it and that won't happen because I love writing. I love R&B music and I love informing people about that aspect of the music industry. Writing is in my blood like some kind of disease. It's been there from since I was little and my novel will be published next year so I hope you guys pick it up! But back to the news and gossip. Yesterday, former Spice Girl Mel B flew in to Britain from Los Angeles and for the first time EVER, she showed off her 5-month pregnant bump.

This is the picture we have all been waiting for which proves Mel really is pregnant with Eddie Murphy's baby and the chick is glowing! Pregnancy suits her. She came back to the UK to visit her friends and family and is said to be very happy with funny man Eddie, therefore trouncing US rumours that their romance has been on the rocks due to family conflict. Click on image to read the article in full.

Here is Ciara on the latest cover of Jet magazine and she is looking like WOWSERS! This is a gorgeous picture I must add, although it must've been taken at the same time as her Promise promo. I've also provided the scans so if you click on the thumbnails, you can read the article and if you still can't read it, save the pictures to your comp and open them up with Windows Picture Viewer and use the magnifying glass to increase the text without it blurring. Here are some interesting titbits that we didn't know from the feature. According to her father, she was given her first name after a bottle of perfume that he had bought for his wife. Didn't know that at all. An old-time friend of mine is named Ciara but it is pronounced KEY-R-AH. I guess you learn new things each day huh? Ciara lived in Germany for three years and went to preschool there. At the school, there were only two or three black kids but she got along with all the children and she proudly admits that she can speak Japanese, German, a little bit of French and Spanish. She wrote a song for Fantasia which made Fantasia's debut album Free Yourself. Alongside her massive list of achievements, as we already know she won a Grammy for Best Music Video.
